(CARLSBAD, Calif.) — Z Customization has introduced the official U.S. Ryder Cup Team golf bag for the 43rd Ryder Cup, which takes place Sept. 21-26, 2021 at Whistling Straits in Kohler, Wisconsin. Best known for manufacturing and embroidering major club manufacturer golf bags, Z Customization worked with U.S. Ryder Cup Team Captain Steve Stricker in designing the bags.
“He took a hands-on approach in helping us develop a special blue and red camouflage pattern for the bags. It was very much a collaborative effort,” says Jeff Yearous, CEO of Z Customization, the exclusive 43rd Ryder Cup U.S. Team bag manufacturer. “On the magnetic personal pocket, we added the state of Wisconsin in red, white and blue. It’s a cool visual. And we placed the Whistling Straits logo on the bottom of the tour bag.”
The bag will sell to consumers for $699.99, but will be available at the onsite Ryder Cup merchandise shop, where consumers can personalize it with their name for an extra $25, and at limited golf retailers around the country. The colorful and vibrant bag is made of a durable and premium PU vinyl, with careful attention paid to every stitch and detail. It is identical to the bag the players will use.
“It looks incredible,” adds Yearous. “We utilized only the best materials that will withstand the rigors of Ryder Cup play. And because that’s complemented by a great look, golfers get so eager to see it. We also made the 2018 Ryder Cup bag, and worked with then-U.S. Captain Jim Furyk on it. He said that players got so excited to open a Ryder Cup bag for the first time. It’s a genuinely exhilarating moment the team looks forward to. This year’s players are going to be thrilled when they receive theirs.”
Next month, at the 43rd Ryder Cup merchandise shop, the company will also sell a matching, full-function stand bag ($349.99) that comes with a single and double strap, as well as a matching den caddy ($139.99). They’re made of the identical materials as the staff bag and have the same aesthetics. While both products will be available at a limited number of golf shops after the event, the stand bag will also be offered at Dick’s Sporting Goods.
Z Customization is no stranger to supplying Tour pros -- such as Dustin Johnson, Bryson DeChambeau and Gary Woodland -- with its expertise and high-end products. Officials recently worked with Matthew Fitzpatrick on a British Open staff bag that resembled the uniform of his favorite soccer team, Sheffield United.
