Troon Selected to Manage The Club at Pasadera in Monterey, Calif.

(Scottsdale, Ariz.)
– Troon, the leader in club management, development, and marketing, is pleased to announce it has been selected to manage The Club at Pasadera, a private country club in Monterey, California. Troon Privé, the private club operating division of Troon, will manage golf, club, resort-style amenities, food & beverage operations, golf course agronomy and membership marketing.

The Club at Pasadera opened as Pasadera Country Club in 2000 before being rebranded as The Nicklaus Club – Monterey in 2013. In 2019, The Club at Pasadera name was adopted. Set on a mountain ridge just off the Monterey/Salinas highway, The Club at Pasadera features a Jack Nicklaus Signature Design golf course – the only Nicklaus Signature Design on the Monterey Peninsula. The front nine has a traditional feel, while the back nine has extreme elevation changes with tee boxes set on mountaintops, well above many fairways. The course measures 6,801 yards from the tips and plays to a par of 71.

“I’m really excited about the partnership with The Club at Pasadera,” said Troon Senior Vice President Bill O’Brien. “It’s evident there’s a remarkable group of passionate and experienced owner-investors with an equally well-suited leadership team focused on elevating the member experience and leveraging their new partners and support network within Troon.”

A full-service lifestyle club, The Club at Pasadera’s 38,000-square-foot, California-hacienda-style clubhouse is the crown jewel of the community. The clubhouse includes a timeless courtyard, the fun-filled front lawn and fire pits, and a variety of other meeting and dining spaces. Club owners worked with a number of craftsmen, artists and local professional designers to create a timeless look. The collection of interiors represents several trips to Europe. The tapestry wall hanging from France, rugs from Tibet and a boardroom table from Spain are just a few of the influences present. Hand-painted frescos, walls, ceilings and borders combined with the elaborate Italian tile flooring and reclaimed train trestle timber ceilings all contribute to this eclectic and beautiful clubhouse. Members also have access to The Nicklaus Lodge, a secluded, five-bedroom lodge perfect for executive retreats and family gatherings.

The Club at Pasadera’s resort-style pool is a social hub on weekends, while its saltwater lap pool and adjacent state-of-the-art fitness center are enjoyed by members year-round. The Club at Pasadera also has five hard surface tennis and pickleball courts, and is home to a successful racquet sports program.

“Pasadera ownership has constantly strived to make the experience better for members and this association with Troon is another example of that ongoing commitment,” said The Club at Pasadera Board of Directors Member Ted Balestreri.
