Indigo Golf Partners Opens Course and Player Registration for 11th Annual World’s Largest Golf Outing

(RESTON, Va.)
– Indigo Golf Partners – the innovative operator of more than 160 golf courses, country clubs and resorts across 29 states – has opened course and player registration for the 11th annual World’s Largest Golf Outing (WLGO) on Monday, August 2.

The largest single-day charity golf tournament in the U.S., WLGO is expected to be played simultaneously at roughly 200 golf courses nationwide. The annual fundraiser, conceived by Indigo Golf Partners, has raised more than $4.5 million for military charities and involved more than 62,000 golfers since 2011.

For the sixth consecutive year, Fisher House Foundation will benefit from WLGO activities. It provides a “home away from home” for families of veterans who are patients receiving care at major military and VA medical centers.  The 82 Fisher Houses across the United States, United Kingdom and Germany offer free, temporary lodging during medical crises and the healing process. WLGO funds help build Fisher Houses worldwide.

Courses outside of the Indigo Golf Partners portfolio and golfers from around the country are invited to begin registering HERE.

“It’s rewarding to see Fisher House in action, helping our service men and women, and their families in need,” says Alex Elmore, president of Indigo Golf Partners. “While the World’s Largest Golf Outing is a fun event, paying it forward to provide sanctuaries for those who protect our freedoms is what it’s all about.”

Participation is free for public and private golf courses. For players, a USGA handicap is not required, and they register as singles, twosomes and foursomes.

Prizes are awarded to courses and teams which raise the most money. At many locations, local and national celebrities join the fun, and many players (including veterans) and courses are adorned in red, white and blue, as well as camouflage. There are also enthusiastic contributions from local color guards, fire departments, bagpipers, high school bands, choirs and dance teams performing the national anthem and flag raisings.

“The support through World’s Largest Golf Outing is truly amazing,” says Dave Coker, president of Fisher House Foundation. “We salute all who convene around a day of competition and camaraderie to help veterans successfully assimilate back into their communities.”

Donations are made at https://www.worldslargestgolfouting.com/donate, by calling 703.940.3600 and at participating WLGO courses.
