John Dipollina Named 2020 PGA Jr. League #Gamechanger

(MIDDLEFIELD, Conn.)
— John Dipollina, Director of Golf at Lyman Orchards Golf Club in Middlefield, Conn., was named a PGA Jr. League #Gamechanger by the PGA of America for tying for the 10th largest program in the U.S. and having the top program in the Connecticut Section.

Dipollina tied for 10th from over 3700 programs in the U.S., making the PGA Jr. League the largest junior golf organization in the country.

PGA Jr. League #Gamechangers are determined on an annual basis by the following quantitative criteria: PGA and LPGA captains with the largest number of registered players nationwide and in each of the 41 PGA sections. Dipollina’s expert coaching provided kids with an outlet to stay socially connected during a year when it was difficult to do much.

“I am extremely privileged to help shape and mold junior golfers during such a tumultuous year,” says Dipollina.  “I am grateful Lyman Orchards was able to provide a safe setting for our junior league and a positive experience for as many young golfers as we could.”

Dipollina came to Lyman Orchards in 2018 from The Hartford Golf Club in West Hartford, Conn. He has filled the role of instructor, merchandiser, club-fitter and tournament director for the club. Dipollina touches every corner of golf operations Lyman Orchards in some way and it’s had an undeniable effect on the club’s success.

In addition to being a 2020 PGA Jr. League #Gamchanger, Dipollina has been honored by U.S. Kids Golf as one of the “Top 50 Kids Coaches in the World” and by the Golf Range Association of America (GRAA) as a “Top 100 Growth of the Game Teaching Professionals.” In 2019, Dipollina won the “Youth Player Development Award” in the Connecticut PGA Section.

“I have been very lucky to be surrounded by such a great team and be influenced by some of the best teachers the golf industry has to offer,” continues Dipollina. “This past year has taught us more than we could have imagined and we are now positioned for an even better 2021 season.”

“Lyman has become a haven for anyone who wants to learn the game or get better,” says Gary Jalbert, President and CEO of Lyman Orchards. “We can point directly at John’s efforts for our growth and success, so we could not be more proud of his recognition on a national level.”
