Massive Overhaul and New Facilities Now Open
(GALENA, Ill.) – The General, Eagle Ridge Resort & Spa’s premier golf course, is pleased to announce a new clubhouse, pro shop, restaurant and lounge that is up to par with Galena’s spectacular rolling hills and the course’s challenging play. The General’s new clubhouse includes Highlands Restaurant and Lounge 289 featuring spectacular views overlooking the golf course, a general store, a gas station and a café counter for quick bites and coffee, not to mention a pro shop that is triple the size of the previous shop.
“The completion of this clubhouse, restaurant and lounge elevates the entire golfing experience at Eagle Ridge Resort & Spa,” said Ryan Brown, director of golf. “We have flipped our nines so guests of Highlands Restaurant and Lounge 289 can dine and cheer golfers on as they approach the clubhouse.” Brown continues. “As for our golfers, they now have a picturesque finishing hole that’s only steps away from unwinding on the newly renovated deck.”
Highlands Restaurant and Lounge 289
A premiere 19th hole unlike any other, Highlands Restaurant and Lounge 289 is a completely new restaurant with both public and private dining rooms and an outdoor terrace that seats up to 45 people. It features a cantilever deck that overlooks the 10th fairway and the 18th green of The General golf course as well as panoramic views of The Galena Territory. Lounge 289, namedafter the distance between the highest and lowest tee boxes of the golf course, has an upper lounge area and a lower lounge area with four glass garage doors that can be opened during our beautiful spring, summer, and fall days.Locally sourced brews and spirits grace the bar menu like the nationally recognized favorite, Blaum Brothers bourbon, which is located just a few miles from the resort. The menu includes a bounty of locally sourced foods and ingredients from purveyors and farms. Old menu favorites have been combined with the fresh new menu, prepared with new state-of-the-art kitchen equipment. From light lunches, to wood-fired favorites, indulgent dinner entrées and vegan offerings, there is something for every palate.
The new facility also features:
- An upscale pro shop, three times the size of the previous space, featuring first class brands like Peter Miller, Mizzen+Main, FootJoy, Adidas, EP Pro, and more
- A general store – perfect for guests renting a house on property to stock up on groceries and other quick essentials
- A gas station for guest convenience
- ADA-compliant design throughout the entire facility
- Conservation, Environment Central to Re-build
Early in the planning stages, Eagle Ridge Resort & Spa unequivocally decided to approach all new construction projects with the goals of supporting the environment, conserving energy, and maintaining as much of the natural habitat as possible. The infrastructure supporting the cosmetic changes includes solar panels that supplement electrical requirements, conversion to natural gas for heating needs, and water conservation.
Consultants also helped design comfortable, quiet and sustainable interiors, installing advanced products such as efficient furnaces, digitally managed air conditioning units, R-21 insulation, woodpecker-proof siding, low-emissivity (Low-e) window glass, soundproof carpets, silent fans, and LED lighting.
Thank you for showing what you need to strive for. But I believe that your level of service is approaching luxury. I myself usually count on a strong middle class when it comes to starting a new restaurant. I consulted a lot with Toronto restaurant Brokers. It is believed that now is the best time to buy commercial real estate or conclude a lease agreement. The maximum discounts and the proximity to the opening of the city after the lockdown inspires hope.
