The Highland Course at Primland Earns Acclaim as a Top State Venue

Virginia Business Magazine Bestows Honor for Luxury Resort’s Superb Golf Amenity

(MEADOWS OF DAN, VIRGINIA) – The Highland Course at Primland, the boutique luxury resort set amid 12,000 pristine acres in the Blue Ridge Mountains, landed at No. 9 on Virginia Business magazine’s top courses in the state and No. 3 on the list of courses not requiring a membership.

There are more than 300 golf courses in the Commonwealth. Voting panelists considered variety in design, routing, strategy, fairness, shot values, memorability and aesthetics. The lists were unveiled in the newly published April issue of the publication.

“It’s gratifying that this accolade was determined by Virginia residents who have played The Highland Course. The first-person credibility means that golfers can count on an outstanding experience,” said Steve Helms, Primland Vice President.

This is the latest of several recent “best-in-kind” awards for The Highland Course:
- Editors’ Choice, Golf Digest, Best Mid-Atlantic Resorts (March 2020)
- No. 32, Golfweek Top 100 Resort Courses in the U.S. (December 2020)
- No. 30, Golf Digest, America’s 100 Greatest Public Courses (2019-2020)
- Golfscape, World’s Top 100 Golf Courses (March 2019)

Designed by Englishman Donald Steel, The Highland Course is renowned for its stunning mountain views, natural routing and seamless layout that takes full advantage of the surrounding nature. Golfers can book their preferred experience from a variety of options at Primland – instruction, individual rounds, group events, stay-and-play packages, even a bundle of 12 rounds for $2,100 that can be shared with other players through August 2020.

The golf course is one of many Primland activities and amenities. A partial list of others includes first-class food and beverage menu, fly fishing, shooting sporting clays, riding ATVs, mountain biking, yoga, world-class spa, archery, water sports, horseback riding, tomahawk throwing, guided hikes, and tree climbing. There is a wide array of lodging options, cottages, tree houses, mountain homes and rooms in the refined Lodge.
