KemperSports-Managed Properties Named to Golfweek’s Best Casino Courses Ranking

Seneca Hickory Stick Golf Course
(NORTHBROOK, Illinois) – Three KemperSports-managed properties have earned a spot among the top casino courses in the United States, according Golfweek’s annual list highlighting the top 50 courses in the category.

“We are fortunate to be involved with these great properties,” said Steve Skinner, CEO of KemperSports. “Rankings on this list are hard-earned and we’re incredibly proud of our properties and staff for their achievement.”

KemperSports-managed properties ranked on Golfweek’s list include:
No. 31 – Seneca Hickory Stick Golf Course in Lewiston, New York
No. 39 – Sequoyah National Golf Club in Whittier, North Carolina
No. 40 – Thornberry Creek at Oneida (Champions Course), in Oneida, Wisconsin, which moved into the top 50 for the first time this year

The hundreds of members of Golfweek’s course-ratings panel continually evaluate courses and rate them based on their 10 criteria. Routing; quality of the shaping; the overall land plan; the greens and surrounds; the variety and memorability of par 3s, par 4s, and par 5s; the tree and landscape management; conditioning and ecology; and “walk in the park” test (i.e. the sense of the place as worthy of spending four hours on it) are all examined when a course is considered for the list. Those overall ratings on each course are averaged to produce a final rating for each course. Then each course is ranked against other courses in the region.
