From January through May, guests will discover “wall to wall” emerald green fairways, rough and putting surfaces rather than dormant brown conditions found on most courses during winter and spring months. The three-day Gold Package begins at $96 (per person, per day, taxes included). It includes three rounds with cart on each of the celebrated Mystical Golf layouts (plus one additional complimentary afternoon round), three nights’ lodging in well-appointed three-bedroom villa (four beds), free IHOP breakfast daily (available 24 hours per day), and a gratis steak dinner at Logan’s Roadhouse (includes non-alcoholic beverages, taxes).

Mystical Golf’s courses are consistently recognized by major golf media to be among Myrtle Beach’s “five best courses” and “best values.”

Its three layouts are highlighted by wonderfully fun elements including the only back-to-back island greens in the game (Man-O-War), a front nine of dramatic holes weaving through secluded swampland teeming with wildlife (The Witch), and a splendid layout reminiscent of Scotland and Ireland’s classic courses complete with authentic sod-faced bunkering and castle-style clubhouse (The Wizard).

Man-O-War’s 15th hole ranks among GOLF Magazine’s “Five Most Memorable Island Greens” alongside No. 17 at TPC Sawgrass, the “Alcatraz” hole at PGA West’s Stadium Course and Coeur d’Alene Resort’s movable, floating putting surface. The Witch is praised by PGA.com for presenting one of America’s “great 9th holes” and The Wizard has earned 4-1/2 stars from Golf Digest.

Caribbean GCSA Forms to Make GCSAA’s 100th Chapter

Chapter will strengthen international ties

(Lawrence, Kan.) – The Caribbean Golf Course Superintendents Association has been established as the 100th affiliated chapter of the Golf Course Superintendents Association of America (GCSAA).

Caribbean GCSA is the third international chapter of GCSAA. The Ontario GCSA was one of the original chapters when GCSAA was formed in 1926, and Mexico GCSA was chartered in 2017. In addition, GCSAA has individual members in 98 countries.

The formation of the chapter was the result of efforts by a steering committee who saw the need to bring together GCSAA members from across the region into a formal chapter body. The efforts of the committee culminated with the signing of an affiliation agreement at the 2020 Golf Industry Show in Orlando.

“It seems fitting that during our largest gathering of superintendents at GIS that we welcome the newest international members of the GCSAA family,” GCSAA CEO Rhett Evans said. “We look forward to serving and improving the professional lives of golf course management professionals across the Caribbean.”

With the establishment of the affiliated chapter, superintendents in the Caribbean will be able to further their professional development, including opportunities to become GCSAA Class A members and certified golf course superintendents.

“We are very fortunate that technology allows us to offer members of our Caribbean chapter many of the same tools and information to advance their careers and facilities as their peers in North America,” 2019 GCSAA President Rafael Barajas, CGCS, said.

A complete list of GCSAA’s affiliated chapters can be found at https://www.gcsaa.org/resources/chapter-resources/chapter-directory.

Beginners’ Luck for First-Time Attendees at the North America Golf Tourism Convention in Reno-Tahoe

(RELEASE) — Global golf tourism organization IAGTO is making it a win-win situation for golf clubs, golf resorts, hotels and tourist boards attending the 12th annual North America Golf Tourism Convention (NAC) for the first time.

Golf tourism industry companies and destinations new to the organization receive full IAGTO membership when they register for NAC 2020, providing them with a whole host of services designed to help them grow their golf travel business, including access to IAGTO’s 720 golf tour operator members worldwide.

This year’s NAC will take place from 7-10 June at THE ROW’S Silver Legacy Resort Casino in Reno-Tahoe, where golf tour operators specializing in selling North American golf destinations will meet with golf tourism suppliers to make connections and conduct business over the three-day event.

IAGTO Chief Executive Peter Walton said: “Our North America Convention is an incredible opportunity for people working in North America’s golf tourism industry to meet with both domestic and international golf tour operators selling the USA and Canada.

“But what many non-IAGTO companies may not realize is that when they register to attend NAC they also receive full IAGTO membership for the remainder of the year. The membership begins the moment that they sign up for the event, so they don’t need to wait until June to start doing business with the 400 IAGTO member golf tour operators in 48 countries that are already selling golf vacations to and within North America. They are already doubling down!”

As of January 2020, 125 golf tour operators had already registered for NAC and some 150 are expected to attend. Approximately 40% of all buyer delegates are from the USA and Canada, so NAC covers both domestic and international golf travel sales. Globally, IAGTO tour operators are responsible for some 89% of golf vacations sold worldwide, moving 2.4 million golfers with a value of $3.8 billion each year.

IAGTO has 200 member companies in the USA and Canada, of which half attend NAC each year. Golf tourism industry suppliers from Mexico, Central America and the Caribbean are also invited to attend.

Golf resorts and courses registered for NAC 2020 Reno-Tahoe so far include Pebble Beach, Pinehurst Resort, Chambers Bay, Sawgrass Marriott Golf Resort & Spa, Streamsong Resort, Sea Island, The Wigwam, La Quinta Resort, Westin Carlsbad Resort, The Resort at Pelican Hill, Arnold Palmer’s Bay Hill Club, Turnberry Resort & Spa, PGA National Resort & Spa, Treetops Resort, Turning Stone Resort and Horseshoe Bay Resort.

“The golf industry is a hotbed of innovation and the Inventors Spotlight is the perfect venue for emerging brands to engage with PGA Professionals, thought leaders and media members,” says Brad Payne, Walker Trolleys founding partner and CEO. “As one of the only push carts ever selected for this exhibition, we’re excited to further expose Walker Trolleys to decision makers and influencers.”

The Highland Course at Primland Honored in ‘Golfweek’s Best 2020: Top 200 U.S. Resort Courses’

Donald Steel 18-Hole Design at Exclusive Resort in the Virginia Blue Ridge Mountains Rated No. 32

(MEADOWS OF DAN, VIRGINIA) – The Highland Course at Primland, one of luxury boutique resort’s collection of first-class amenities, has garnered acclaim from Golfweek as one of America’s finest resort playing venues.

Set within Primland’s 12,000 acres of pristine Blue Ridge Mountains majesty in Southwestern Virginia, The Highland Course was ranked 32nd in “Golfweek’s Best 2020: Top 200 Resort Courses in the U.S.”

The Highland Course features immaculate conditions, stunning views, no surrounding development, and a masterful course layout by Englishman Donald Steel, whose design philosophy highlights nature and golf tradition. "Good courses protect the environment, bad designs disfigure it," said Steel, who has the rare distinction of having advised every club or course on which the British Open Championship is, or has been, played. "They should provide an interesting challenge and fair test for every class of player; and they should make the best possible use of the land.”

Steel’s beliefs are on full display at The Highland Course, which flows seamlessly and breathtakingly through the dramatic mountain landscape, as if it has been there for time immemorial.

This latest acclaim for the Primland golf amenity comes after recently being rated No. 30 in Golf Digest’s biennial “America’s 100 Greatest Public Courses, 2019-2020.”

“Primland is thankful for Golfweek’s high critical praise, as well as that from Golf Digest,” said Steve Helms, Primland Vice President. “Our mission is to leave our guests and visitors deeply satisfied with our luxury property and our wide range of amenities and activities.”

Olde English District Well Represented in GOLF Advisor Golfers’ Choice 'Best of South Carolina' Courses

(OLDE ENGLISH DISTRICT, S.C.) — The newly released, GOLF Advisor Golfers’ Choice rankings of the “Best of South Carolina” named the Top 25 golf courses in the Palmetto State open to the public according to ratings and reviews.

For those in the know, it was no surprise that the Olde English District of South Carolina was well represented in the ranking of the state’s finest public golf experiences. “The OED,” as it is more popularly referred, is a land where the famed golfing Sandhills to the north meet the Lowcountry to the south and east. It is a place where small towns, medium prices and big-name golf course architects blend together.

Most of the golf in the area is situated along the stretch of Interstate 77 from Rock Hill to Columbia, S.C. With 18 golf courses in this region alone and many others in the near surrounding area, it is an ideal place to settle in for two days, three days or even a week. A visit to the Olde English District can begin in a number of locations, but the unquestionable “capital” of the district is Rock Hill/York County, located a swift and easy 30 minutes south of Charlotte Douglas International Airport.

At No. 3 on the Golf Advisor list was the Tom Jackson-designed Cheraw Golf Club in Cheraw, S.C., which was built around 309-acre Lake Juniper, as part of the Cheraw State Park. At No. 14 was the Bruce Brodsky-designed Edgewater Golf Club in Lancaster, S.C., followed closely at No. 18 by Cobblestone Park Golf Club (Gold Course) in Blythewood, S.C. — home to the University of South Carolina Gamecock golf teams and a Palmetto State stalwart.

GOLF Advisor’s annual lists of the best golf courses in the United States boast a new name too – Golfers’ Choice. The website’s most-popular and most-anticipated lists are determined by recreational golfers who shared their reviews throughout the year with the online destination for traveling golfers who frequent destinations such as upstate South Carolina.

Unlike golf course rankings published by industry insiders who have access to golf courses the public may never have the opportunity to play, GOLF Advisor’s Golfers’ Choice lists are totally consumer driven – by recreational golfers, for recreational golfers. Ages, handicaps and budgets of golfers using the website run the gamut, so the nearly 1 million reviews GOLF Advisor has accumulated showcase the golf course characteristics that are the most important to avid golfers across the country.

South Carolina’s Olde English District provides everything the adventurous traveler could want. Once there, however, make sure to take your time staying and playing. Go exploring, both on and off the fairways. You won’t leave disappointed. For 2020 golf package information, visit OldeEnglishGolf.com.

Titleist Introduces New T400 Irons for Easy Launch, Super Distance

Split Sole, Hollow Head Design Maximizes Performance for Moderate Swing Speeds

(FAIRHAVEN, Mass.) – The new easy-launching, super distance Titleist T400 irons are designed to provide moderate swing speed golfers with the most forgiving Titleist experience possible.

Available for fittings Feb. 27 (and in golf shops March 27), the new Titleist T400 irons utilize an advanced split sole design, super-thin face and wide body, hollow head construction fortified by extreme amounts of high-density tungsten to help golfers effortlessly launch it higher and hit it farther.

The addition of T400 to the strikingly new line of Titleist T-Series irons – joining the T100, T100•S, T200 and T300 models – ensures that every player is able to experience the engineering ingenuity and breakthrough performance that has made Titleist the longstanding #1 iron on the PGA Tour.

“T400 is the super distance Titleist iron. This club is engineered to get the ball in the air and launch it as far as possible, even when the strike isn’t perfect,” Josh Talge, Vice President of Marketing, Titleist Golf Clubs. “There are so many golfers, particularly players with moderate swing speeds, who can benefit from this technology. T400 gets the absolute most out of your swing while still providing the playability of a Titleist iron along with that look, sound and feel that dedicated players demand.”

T400 PERFORMANCE & TECHNOLOGY

Designed to help moderate swing speed players score lower, the new T400 irons maximize performance on every shot through the following key technologies:
• Wide body shape with advanced Split Sole design provides optimal turf interaction for a smooth and easy strike.
• Hollow head construction produces an extremely high MOI that maximizes forgiveness on off center shots.
• Extreme High-density tungsten weighting (up to 100g per head) creates a low CG, working in combination with a super-thin forged SUP-10 L-Face Insert (5-7 irons) to produce explosive launch off the turf.
• Progressive set design – with progressive blade lengths, sole widths and hosel lengths – delivers optimal CG positioning with preferred shaping through the set.
• Lightweight materials – with stock grip and shaft options – promote increased swing speeds for longer distance.

FREE TRIAL & FITTINGS

Beginning Feb. 27, golfers can experience the performance of T400 irons by attending a Titleist Fitting and Trial event (including Titleist Thursdays), being held at hundreds of locations nationwide. To find an event, or book a free T-Series iron fitting with a Titleist Product Specialist, golfers can visit  www.titleist.com/fitting/appointments.

LIGHTWEIGHT STOCK SHAFTS & GRIP

T400 offers premium lightweight graphite and steel aftermarket options to help moderate swing speed players maximize performance. The Mitsubishi Fubuki MV IR – MV stands for “Maximum Velocity” – produces higher ball speed through its ultra-lightweight iron-specific graphite design. The steel True Temper AMT Red offers tour-proven ascending mass technology, with lighter long iron shafts for increased launch and speed and heavier short iron shafts for control.
• Graphite: Mitsubishi Fubuki MV IR | Mid-High launch, mid spin | 50g
• Steel: True Temper AMT Red | High launch, mid-high spin | 95-107g (3g per club)

In addition, Titleist offers an industry-leading number of custom shaft choices, many at no upcharge.

T400’s 43-gram stock grip, the Golf Pride Tour Velvet 360 Lite+, weighs in 9 grams lighter than the T-Series stock Tour Velvet 360 model.

Bridgestone Launches VFIT Giving Golfers the Ability to Find the Right Ball for Their Game

Proprietary Technology Allows Bridgestone To Calculate Golf Swing Launch Data from Smart Phone Video Submissions

(COVINGTON, Ga.) – Bridgestone Golf, the #1 Ball Fitter in Golf, officially launched its innovative, new VFIT video ball fitting service, providing consumers with the ability to receive an expert person-to-person golf ball analysis anytime, anywhere. VFIT, which has undergone extensive Beta Testing since October of last year, is officially debuting in its go-to-market form at this week’s 2020 PGA Merchandise Show. Excitingly, Beta Testing proved that VFIT has a 98% accuracy rate, matching golfers into the same ball live fitting does in greater than 9 out of every 10 swing analyses conducted.

In 2006, Bridgestone disrupted the golf ball category with the introduction of Ball Fitting, empowering consumers to make a more educated decision about which ball to play, based on personal performance data. Bridgestone’s new VFIT service builds on that heritage by giving more players access to Bridgestone’s ball fitting experts than ever before. It allows players to be fit for the golf ball best suited to their swings by using their smart phone. By following simple set-up instructions provided by Bridgestone, any golfer can record, submit and get fit. Using a cellphone video camera to record a “swing video” in slow motion, the video can then be uploaded to Bridgestone’s ball fitting technicians for a detailed analysis of what ball is right for them.

Within 24 hours, each golfer will receive a ball fitting report by e-mail, detailing their launch conditions (swing speed, ball velocity, launch angle, spin rate, carry distance and total distance) and providing an analysis of what ball fits them best.

“Working with Tour Pros is a big source of information and inspiration for us in product development. That’s true too for VFIT. Tour Pros and elite amateurs are often on the road and away from their swing coaches,” said Adam Rehberg, Golf Ball Fitting Manager – Bridgestone Golf. “We noticed how often they use swing video to maintain person-to-person contact with their coach and get needed advice. With VFIT we are doing the same thing – empowering players to make person-to-person connections with experienced ball fitting technicians that can help them improve their game. It’s simple and effective – we are excited to bring this complimentary service to players.”

VFIT is free, easy-to-use and ensures that nearly every one of the 24 million golfers in the United States has the opportunity to receive two pieces of information critical to improving their games – a detailed analysis of swing data and a golf ball that corresponds to those results. To learn more about utilizing VFIT, golfers should visit www.bridgestonegolf.com/vfit.

Lucas Herbert Claims Maiden Victory with TaylorMade SIM Driver

(RELEASE) - TeamTaylorMade Athlete Lucas Herbert won his maiden European Tour title at the 2020 Omega Dubai Desert Classic playing 14 TaylorMade clubs and ball. This victory is the first for TaylorMade's new SIM Drivers featuring an asymmetric sole design and enhanced Inertia Generator.

Herbert started the day six shots off the lead, but following a dramatic final day, he made birdie on both 17 and 18 to set up a play-off. Lucas then proceeded to birdie the second play-off hole to take the victory, the first European Tour win of his career.

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW:

- After testing the new SIM Drivers in Australia over the winter, Herbert put the new SIM driver straight into play in his first tournament last week in Abu Dhabi
- This week in Dubai, a tweak was made to his SIM 9.0 driver taking it from the higher setting to 1 click less in loft to optimize the pairing with his new TP5 golf ball. He launches the ball low and the spin rates suited his launch angle and complements his driving
- Lucas was struggling with spin control so made the switch from the TP5x to TP5 golf ball this week, gaining more control in the shots he had to hit this week
- Herbert's victory is the first win for TaylorMade’s new range of SIM drivers featuring an asymmetric sole design and enhanced Inertia Generator
- Herbert opted for the titanium SIM 15.0 fairway wood to accompany his SIM 9.0 driver
- Herbert also put into play TaylorMade's P7TW Irons for the first time last week in Abu Dhabi. This week in Dubai he had the lofts of his P7TW irons bent 0.5 degrees stronger to make them work for his change into the TP5 golf ball
- Lucas prefers a traditional looking wedge, and like most other TeamTaylorMade athletes he opts to play the Milled Grind 2 wedges featuring TaylorMade's RAW Face Design
- Herbert's bag is completed with the popular Spider X putter in midnight blue

Sacks Parente Golf Partners with Club Champion

Premium Putting Instruments Available for Demo and Fitting at more than 70 Studios Nationwide

(CAMARILLO, CA) — Sacks Parente Golf Company, builders of exceptional putting instruments that defy convention, has partnered with Club Champion, the country’s #1 fitter, builder and retailer of the best brands in golf, to offer Sacks Parente putters in all Club Champion fitting studios nationwide.

The vision of Sacks Parente is to deliver the most scientifically perfect putting instruments to help golfers make more putts. The Sacks Parente line of putters features innovative designs with game-changing technology. The company offers the Series 18 Cavity Back Flange Blade, the Series 66 Cavity Back Blade, the Series 39 True Blade and Series 54 Mid-Size and Large Mallet putters. Several of the designs have been put in play by professionals on multiple tours.

“We recognize the importance of proper fitting, especially when it comes to putters,” said Sacks Parente CEO, Tim Triplett. “Golfers want to make sure their putter feels good, looks good and performs. This partnership with Club Champion gives more golfers nationwide the opportunity to try our putters.”

Club Champion fits, sells and builds custom golf clubs constructed from club heads, shafts and grips from brands like Callaway, TaylorMade, Ping, Titleist, Cobra, Fujikura, Golf Pride and many more. The company delivers a Tour-quality fitting that produces longer, more accurate shots with a nearly 100% satisfaction rate for golfers of any ability level.

“Club Champion’s fitting expertise and state-of-the-art technology is an ideal complement to the transcendent technology and materials we’ve created with our putters,” added Triplett.

All Sacks Parente designs feature the company’s patented Ultra-Low Balance Point (ULBP) technology, which is defined as a balance point 5” or less from the sole of the putter. This balance point creates a natural putter release, squaring the head at impact, even in high stress situations. In addition, all SPG putters maximize MOI by combining the use of ultra-light weight alloys and high-density tungsten, to significantly move more weight from the center of the putter to the heel and toe. In fact, every Sacks Parente putter head has a higher MOI than most putters available today.

“Sacks Parente putters are super cool with a great technology story and we’re thrilled to be able to offer them to our customers,” said Nick Sherburne, founder of Club Champion. “They’ve designed their putters with innovative shaft, grip and head technology that fits so well with our customers who demand the highest performance from all the clubs in their bag.”

Golfers can request a fitting at clubchampiongolf.com. They can also schedule a fitting by calling their preferred Club Champion location directly.

ParForm Golf Introduces Birdie Bar

Golf-Specific Nutrition Bar Developed and Tested by Golfers for Golfers

(EAGLE, ID) — ParForm, the leader in golf specific training and nutrition, introduced their new Birdie Bar, a golf-specific nutrition bar developed and tested by golfers for golfers, at the 2020 PGA Merchandise Show.

The Birdie Bar is the first nutrition bar made specifically for golfers. It provides essential nutrients unique to a golfer's body to help fight fatigue, sustain focus, and improve performance while on the course - and is designed to withstand the length of the game on extremely hot days.

No MELT. No MESS. Unlike most sports bars, the Birdie Bar doesn't have a sticky chocolate coating, so it won't melt in your hands or in your golf bag. Our team's love for nutrition and golf is what inspired us to create a delicious, no-mess nutrition bar with the perfect blend of sugars, proteins, and carbs to fuel the needs of a golfer.

While a golf pro may help correct swings and take strokes off a player's game, the Birdie Bar increases your energy, stamina and stability - which can help you drive the ball farther and avoid the sand-trap of fatigue and injury.

With a multitude of energy bars, meal replacements, and supplements to choose from, there has never been a golf-specific choice, until now! For golfers looking to stay healthy on the greens, the new Birdie Bar is your ideal golfing partner.

Eat like a golfer. Train like a golfer. Live like a golfer.

Three Los Cabos Courses Voted to Golf Digest's 'World's 100 Greatest' List

Diamante (Dunes), Cabo del Sol (Ocean) and Querencia on elite roster

(LOS CABOS, Mexico) – Three magnificent courses in Los Cabos, Mexico’s foremost golf destination, have been selected by Golf Digest’s panelists for inclusion on the latest edition of the publication’s “World’s 100 Greatest Golf Courses” roster.

Acknowledging the rampant growth and rising prestige of international golf course development, the magazine stated, “It’s tempting to describe Golf Digest’s fourth biennial ranking of the World’s 100 Greatest Golf Courses as a contest between advanced age and youth, legends versus new kids, Old Guard versus upstarts.” The editors acknowledged the fact that 30 of the ranked courses were built in the 21st century, including two of the three award-winning courses in Los Cabos.

But the publication was quick to point out that panelists “aren’t examining birth certificates or sell-by dates.” They’re examining the excellence of each candidate’s course architecture based on the judgement of the magazine’s course ranking panel, which includes more than 1,700 North American golfers and more than 350 international players.

With three courses on an elite roster published by the sport’s leading print and digital outlet, Los Cabos continues to reaffirm its position as the reigning ‘Golf Capital of Latin America.’

Diamante G.C. (Dunes) moved up 13 spots and now sits at No. 34 on Golf Digest’s exclusive roster. “Mexico's first true links (was) fashioned by Davis Love III and his design team…from a fantastic set of white sand dunes along the Pacific Ocean, huge portions of which are without vegetation and seem like enormous snow drifts,” the magazine’s digital edition stated. “Holes hug the flowing terrain with little artificiality. Two holes on the back nine once played around a long lagoon, but have been replaced by (the) new 12th and 13th holes on the beach. Now all of the second nine is adjacent to the ocean, amidst the tallest dunes.” Perhaps most significantly, “No other links in the world sports cactus.”

Cabo del Sol (Ocean), the course credited with placing Los Cabos squarely on the international golf map, dropped to No. 91 on the list. However, the seaside layout, rebranded and reopened as the Cove Cub last month after a major makeover by original designer Jack Nicklaus, likely will move up in the rankings on the next go-round. “When Jack Nicklaus first saw this Baja Peninsula site, what can best be described as Scottsdale-meets-the-Sea of Cortez, his thought was: ‘This is my chance to design a Pebble Beach,’ the magazine reported. “He took full advantage of that chance, developing an exciting routing that plays from highlands of desert cacti over dry washes and down to the sea on both nines.”

Moving up four places to No. 93 on Golf Digest’s roster is Querencia C.C., a marvelous Tom Fazio design opened in 2000 and set within a private 1,800-acre golf community. “The routing wanders the rugged high desert plateau on the outward nine, toward the Sea of Cortez, hopscotching a dramatic canyon on the par-3 eighth,” the report stated. “After reaching the far point on the par-5 ninth, the course turns for home over similar terrain, via two more outstanding par 3s, the 11th and 14th.”

In addition to the World’s 100 Greatest feature, Golf Digest also produced “The Best Courses in 206 Countries” as part of its Planet Golf report. Predictably, Los Cabos dominates the Mexico entry. Ten of the courses on the 15-course list, including six of the top seven venues, are located in Los Cabos, the hemisphere’s most celebrated golf getaway. Diamante (Dunes), Chileno Bay Golf & Beach Club, Cabo del Sol (Ocean), and Querencia command the top four slots, followed by Palmilla G.C. (No. 6), and Quivira G.C. (No. 7).  Also included on the Best in Mexico roster are Diamante (El Cardonal), El Dorado, Cabo del Sol (Desert), and Cabo Real.

Why Would FootJoy Change PRO|SL, The Most Popular Shoe in Golf?

When FJ consulted their top PGA Tour players to inquire about making changes to Pro|SL, the best-selling shoe in golf and the shoe chosen by more Tour players than any other, the feedback was clear: don’t.

But players never settle, and neither does FJ. The brand operates with a singular focus on the game of golf and every little thing golfers need to perform at the highest level. Because to us, Only Everything Matters. It’s one reason FJ has been the top shoe at every tournament on the PGA Tour since 1945. And it is why the brand spent more than 18 months to develop, test and perfect a new Pro|SL.

“As the industry leader, we didn’t tweak or adjust the new Pro|SL, we innovated and advanced and received Tour approval,” said Richard Fryer, Director of Product Management, FJ Footwear.  “As a result, we’ve developed a product that delivers more stability, more traction, more comfort and more choice, setting the standard in performance footwear, again”.

MORE STABILITY. MORE TRACTION.

The all-new Pro|SL offers more traction and stability for every single shot. The all-new Infinity outsole configuration provides grip that just won’t quit, with 189 points of traction that deliver superb contact with the ground and the perfect foundation throughout the golf swing.  The unique infinity shape optimizes stability, with an 11.5% wider heel and increased forefoot stability.

MORE COMFORT.

Pro|SL offers just the right amount of comfort with a Dual-Density (D2) Midsole that delivers both stability and cushioning. Its advanced design utilizes two densities of FJ proprietary FineTuned Foam (FTF): a firm FTF around the perimeter for support and control, and a softer FTF under the foot for max cushioning and comfort.

With multiple layers of comfort and support, along with a super-soft waterproof leather and Power Harness to hug your feet, the all-new Pro|SL provides the comfiest ride in golf with max medial/lateral control and support.

MORE CHOICE.

For those looking for even more comfort and stability, FootJoy has created an additional option, Pro|SL Carbon, integrating a full-length carbon fiber insert into the midsole for off-the-charts stability and motion control. Carbon fiber flexes and elastically snaps back to its molded position with each step recovering more of the energy generated while walking and allowing the body to work less.  This will result in less leg and foot fatigue at the end of the round.

Pro|SL Carbon shoes provide enhanced wrap-around comfort and no-slip fit with a soft, molded collar and conforming underfoot cushioning with an OrthoLite® Impressions FitBed®.

“I’m someone who loves to be comfortable, and the new Pro|SL is the most comfortable golf shoe I’ve ever put on my feet,” said Louis Oosthuizen.

“When I tried Carbon for the first time, I wanted to put them in play immediately,” said Charley Hoffman. “The comfort and stability is incredible”.

The #1 Shoe in Golf is also introducing a new version of the hottest shoe in golf in the Women’s performance footwear lineup.  The all-new Women’s Pro|SL has already been worn to victory on the LPGA by Sei Young Kim, winner of the 2019 CME Group Tour Championship.

Looking to design and customize your own golf shoes?  The all-new Pro|SL is available on MyJoys beginning February 3, 2020.  Create custom MyJoys with over 14 million possible combinations of colors, prints, laces and more, available for both Men and Women in both Laced and BOA®.

So why did FJ change the Pro|SL?  Because at FootJoy, Only Everything Matters.

The initiative welcomes boys and girls, ages 7-15, to participate in local qualifying events in all 50 states throughout the months of May, June, July and August. Entrants will play in girls’ and boys’ divisions in four age categories, with scoring centered around golf’s three fundamental skills – driving, chipping and putting.

Top performers at the local level will advance through subregional and regional qualifiers in July/August and September/October, respectively. From these qualifiers, 80 finalists – 40 boys and 40 girls – will earn an invitation to compete in the National Finals at Augusta National Golf Club on Sunday, April 4, the eve of the 2021 Masters Tournament. Qualifiers are conducted by all 41 sections of the PGA of America across the country.

“It’s exciting to see Drive, Chip and Putt continue to grow the game and inspire juniors everywhere to love and play it,” said Mark Newell, USGA president. “As a founding partner of the program, we’re able to witness, firsthand, the level of passion that junior golfers have and to know that the future of the game is in good hands.”

“Drive, Chip and Putt is a unique and exciting opportunity for participants of all skill levels to get started in the game,” said Fred Ridley, Chairman of Augusta National Golf Club and the Masters Tournament. “Our partnership with the USGA and PGA of America is rooted in the shared mission of engaging golf’s next generation, and each year, we are encouraged by the smiles we see as boys and girls have fun playing a game we hope they enjoy for the rest of their lives.”

“The PGA of America is proud of the great tradition that Drive, Chip and Putt has become through our longstanding partnership with both the USGA and the Masters Tournament,” said PGA President Suzy Whaley, PGA. “Each year, Drive, Chip and Putt serves as a special opportunity for girls and boys to showcase their golf skills and their passion for the game in a fun and welcoming environment. We’re excited that PGA Professionals will help inspire the next generation to pursue a lifetime of enjoyment through the game of golf, as we host qualifying events across each of our 41 PGA Sections nationwide.”

Global Golf Post Announces 2020 'All-Pro' Team

Venerable Illinois pro Jim Sobb selected as the 2020 “Pro’s Pro”

(Glenview, Illinois) – Global Golf Post, the leading golf news brand in the world, has unveiled its sixth annual PGA of America All-Pro Teams.

The awards are a salute to the extraordinary club professionals who perform all the tasks that working at a golf course entails, and yet continue to compete in tournament golf at a high level. “They are the backbone of American golf – teachers, small businessmen, tournament administrators, rules officials, employers, mentors, and knowledgeable golf equipment ambassadors,” said Jim Nugent, Founder and Publisher of Global Golf Post. “They oversee the golf car fleet and golf bag storage area and occasionally they even function as unlicensed psychologists to counsel struggling amateur golfers.”

Jim Sobb, director of golf at The Ivanhoe Club in Mundelein, Ill., has been selected as the 2020 “Pro’s Pro.” Global Golf Post designates one professional each year who embodies the spirit of the All-Pro Team concept. A member of the Illinois Golf Hall of Fame, Sobb has twice been named the Illinois PGA Professional of the Year. As a player, Sobb has participated in three PGA Championships, three U.S. Senior Opens and two Senior PGA Championships.

Sobb joins a prestigious list of “Pro’s Pro” honorees including Bob Ford, head golf professional at both Seminole Golf Club in Florida and Oakmont Country Club in Pennsylvania (2015), Dave Podas, director of golf at Bel-Air Country Club in Los Angeles (2016), Rob Labritz, director of golf at Glen Arbor Golf Club in Bedford Hills, N.Y. “Despite a heavy workload, many of these pros play at an extremely high level, but they don’t get the recognition they deserve, Nugent said. “Our All-Pro feature is designed to do just that—recognize the best playing golf professionals in America.”

Lynx Golf Launches Prowler VT Driver with Switch-Face Technology

Interchangeable Faces Offer Golfers True Loft Adjustability

(Weybridge, Surrey, UK) – Lynx Golf – the iconic equipment brand trusted by multiple major championship winners over its storied history – introduces the Prowler VT Driver with Switch-Face Technology, a revolutionary new driver with interchangeable faces offering golfers the ability to adjust the true loft of their club.

Originally introduced as a prototype at the 2019 PGA Merchandise Show, the design was recently awarded conforming status by the USGA. The driver will be available for purchase this spring at select retailers and LynxGolfUSA.com.

The result of nearly a decade of trials and testing, the Prowler VT Driver with Switch-Face Technology delivers the most accurately-flexible and high-performing golf driver available in the market today. Traditional adjustable drivers change loft by rotating the clubhead around the hosel, resulting in the face sitting open or closed relative to the target. Switch Face allows golfers to change the true loft of the hitting surface while keeping the clubhead square to the ball.

The entire hitting face of the driver is completely removable and is secured to the clubhead via attachment screws that remain embedded in the face. At launch, the company is offering faces in five different lofts (8-degrees, 9-degrees, 10-degrees, 11-degrees and 12-degrees) as well as five different options for an open or closed face, giving golfers 25 different loft and face angle options.

“When the Prowler VT with Switch Face debuted last year, it was one of the most talked about products at the show,” says Steve Elford, CEO and co-owner of Lynx Golf. “We are excited to now give golfers around the world an opportunity to experience the groundbreaking technology for themselves.”

Additional benefits offered by the Prowler VT Driver’s design include an increased MOI which comes as a result of moving weight once occupied by an adjustable hosel to the perimeter of the driver head via the face’s attachment screws. Greater ball speed and forgiveness come thanks to the company’s Effective Energy Transfer system, found inside each face, which equally disperses the ball’s impact force throughout the hitting surface.

Founded in the 1970’s by John Riley Sr. and Carl Ross, Lynx Golf quickly established a large and loyal following among the game’s best players. This included legendary ambassadors who trusted the brand to help them capture victories at the 1992 Masters and 1994 US Open, among other wins.

Introducing the New Titleist AVX Golf Ball – Higher Speed, Longer Distance, More Control

New Core and Cover Technologies Deliver Improved Total Performance and Softer Feel

(FAIRHAVEN, Mass.) – The next generation of Titleist AVX is engineered for greater ball speed, longer distance and increased short-game spin – advancing the multi-component golf ball technology that has produced breakthrough results for golfers who prioritize distance and extremely soft feel.

First introduced in the spring of 2018 following a comprehensive four-month test market, AVX was developed as a performance alternative to sit alongside Titleist’s industry-leading Pro V1 and Pro V1x models – offering the lowest flight, lowest spin and softest feel of the three premium performance offerings.

From core to cover, every piece of the new Titleist AVX golf ball has been reengineered to deliver improved total performance from tee to green:
• The engine of 2020 AVX – a larger, reformulated low compression core – works in combination with a redesigned high flex casing layer to deliver greater ball speed and low long game spin for more distance.
• A new, thinner cast urethane cover – specifically formulated for AVX by Titleist Golf Ball R&D chemists – delivers increased spin and control for improved greenside performance.
• The increased core size also produces an even softer-feeling AVX.

New AVX, offered in both white and high optic yellow, is now available in golf shops worldwide.

“In our ongoing discussions with golfers, we are constantly meeting players who tell us, ‘AVX is the ball I’d been waiting for,’ ” said Frederick Waddell, Senior Product Manager, Titleist Golf Balls. “At the same time, we’ve been able to lean on those golfers to better understand how they experience AVX and what we can do to help them shoot lower scores. The improvements to AVX are a direct result of their insights and the inventiveness of our R&D team to take this design to the next level – and we expect golfers to see better numbers across the board. The new AVX is faster and longer, it performs better around green, and delivers even more of the incredibly soft feel that golfers love about this product.”

Every AVX is made by Titleist associates in the company’s state-of-the-art Ball Plant 3 manufacturing facility to the highest performance and quality specifications in the industry, ensuring the most consistent performance ball to ball, and dozen to dozen.

2020 AVX PERFORMANCE & TECHNOLOGY

AVX delivers unmatched performance in a low compression, multi-layered construction through proprietary core, cover and aerodynamic technologies:
• New, Larger Core Formulation generates high speed and low long game spin to drive more distance with exceptionally soft feel.
• Redesigned High Flex Casing Layer promotes higher ball speed and lower spin on long shots for enhanced distance.
• New, Thinner Cast Urethane Elastomer Cover System has been specifically formulated by Titleist R&D to provide greater ball speed and increased greenside spin and control.
• Unique Catenary Aerodynamic Dimple Design delivers a piercing, low trajectory while providing a consistent ball flight on all shots.

AVAILABILITY

The new Titleist AVX is now available in golf shops worldwide with a MAP of $47.99.
