SkyCaddie Users Dominate Staysure Tour MCB Tour Championship – Madagascar

(RIDGELAND, MS) — SkyGolf, maker of SkyCaddie, the most trusted Rangefinder in Golf, announced that nine of the top 15 finishers in last weekend’s Staysure Tour MCB Tour Championship – Madagascar used a SkyCaddie SX500 GPS rangefinder, including the event’s winner, Barry Lane. Five other finishers in the top 10 also used a SkyCaddie SX500, including Stephen Dodd and Gary Evans (T4), and James Kingston, Chris Williams and Peter Wilson (T7).

In addition to the numerous players using the SX500, SkyCaddie’s ground-mapped GPS data was used by the event’s Tournament Directors to set the pins and to create pin sheets for competitors to use, in the absence of the normal Tour yardage charts.

All three MCB Tour Championship events are using SkyCaddie data in this manner, after SkyCaddie’s chief mapper in the EMEA region, Steve Winstone, flew out to survey each of the golf courses in preparation for the The Staysure Tour’s three-event final “swing” of the season.

Other notable golfers in the field using the SkyCaddie SX500 for their yardages included the current number two on this year’s Order of Merit, David Shacklady, and 2018’s Rookie of The Year, Paul Streeter.

“We are thrilled that so many top-class touring pros continue to choose SkyCaddie for their yardages” said Jacqui Surman, SkyGolf Senior VP and COO. “The new SX400 and SX500 give you so many details of the hole ahead, they give you a clear advantage and yet are perfectly within the laws of the game.

“We are also thrilled that The Staysure Tour is using our ground-mapped data to set the pins at the MCB Tour Championship events. This can only happen because we walk every golf course, mapping on foot as we go. No other rangefinder company can compete with this level of accuracy and detail.”

Lane, a first-time SkyCaddie SX500 user, posted a one-shot victory at the MCB Tour Championship, carding a 69 on the final day at the International Golf Club du Rova. The win propels him to 3rd place in the Order of Merit, with just two tournaments to play – this week’s MCB Tour Championship Seychelles, at Constance Lemuria Golf Club, and next week’s final MCB Tour Championship event, at Constance Belle Mare Plage in Mauritius.

The SX500, which recently received the Best Handheld GPS award in the MyGolfSpy 2019 GPS Buyers Guide, has been joined by his “little brother”, the SX400, which gives golfers the same great features found in the SX500 in a more compact size.
