Brooks Koepka Featured in ESPN’s 'This is SportsCenter' campaign

(VIDEO) — On Saturday, Sept. 7, ESPN will introduce 12 new spots from the iconic This is SportsCenter (TISC) franchise, including two featuring World No. 1 golfer Brooks Koepka. The date marks the network’s 40th anniversary as well as the first time ESPN has debuted this many new TISC spots at once. ESPN wrote the spots in house and produced them in partnership with Hungry Man productions.

Koepka appears in the spot called “Putter Wipe” with ESPN SportsCenter anchors Matt Barrie and Elle Duncan in ESPN’s Cafeteria in Bristol, Conn. The spot will be airing on television, one of seven new spots that will debut on various ESPN television channels.

Koepka also appears with Barrie and Duncan in “Hallway Putt,” a spot that will debut Saturday on ESPN’s social and digital channels. The spot was shot in an interior corridor of a building on ESPN’s campus.

“We’ve been working on developing new spots for a while now, and when we realized the timing worked well with the anniversary, we thought it would be a fun treat for fans to release several at once,” said Laura Gentile, SVP of Marketing. “We hope fans enjoy them as much as we enjoy making them.”

To coincide with the anniversary, ESPN also will release a This is SportsCenter quiz on Saturday on ESPN.com to challenge fans and highlight some favorites from over the years.

Since 1995, This is SportsCenter has given fans and viewers an inside peek at the Bristol campus with a humorous spin on day-to-day life at ESPN. The network has produced more than 400 advertising spots as part of this signature franchise.

Koepka is making his debut in This is SportsCenter, joining other golfers who have been featured in the campaign over the years including Arnold Palmer, Tiger Woods, Phil Mickelson, Rickie Fowler, Bubba Watson and Jordan Spieth.

Other athletes featured in the new campaign include Saquon Barkley and Jared Goff (NFL), Becky Lynch (WWE) and Manny Machado (MLB) as well as mascots from some professional and college sports teams.
