25 Troon-Affiliated Courses Named To Golfweek's "Top 200 Resort Courses" List

(Scottsdale, Ariz.) – Troon, the leader in club management, development and marketing is pleased to announce that 25 of its brand-affiliated courses have been named to Golfweek’s newly published Best 2019: Top 200 Resort Courses in the United States list. Troon brands include Troon Golf, Troon Privé, Troon International, Green Golf Partners, Honours Golf and OB Sports.

Ten Troon-affiliated courses were recognized among Golfweek’s Top 100 Resort Courses, including No. 16 Kapalua (Plantation) in Maui, Hawaii; No. 17 Gamble Sands in Washington; No. 20 Fallen Oak at Beau Rivage in Mississippi; No. 51 Cascata in Nevada; No. 52 Pronghorn (Nicklaus) in Oregon; No. 54 Princeville Makai Golf Club in Kauai, Hawaii; No. 62 PGA WEST (Stadium) in California; No. 89 Ak-Chin Southern Dunes Golf Club in Maricopa, Arizona; and Troon North Golf Club’s Monument Course at No. 95 and Pinnacle Course at No. 96, both in Scottsdale, Ariz. Golf courses are ranked against other courses in their state or nationally to produce Golfweek’s final rankings. Members of Golfweek’s course-ratings panel continually evaluate courses and rate them based on 10 criteria, including:
- Ease and intimacy of routing - The extent to which the sequence of holes follows natural contours and unfolds in an unforced manner.
- Variety and memorability of par 3s, 4s and 5s - Different clubs hit; extent to which the angles of play create interesting and varied playing options; and extent to which holes offer variety of options from the tee and on the second shot.
- Basic quality of conditioning - Variety of playing textures; extent of turf coverage; consistency and quality of bunker sand.
- Walk in the park test - Degree to which the course ultimately is worth spending a half-day on.
