“Hal Sutton brings a lifetime of golf passion, knowledge and personal experiences to his new role at Houston Oaks, and we are thrilled to have him join our team,” proclaimed Chuck Watson, one of three co- owners at Houston Oaks along with Steve Alvis, John Havens and their respective spouses. “Since he turned professional in 1981, Hal has dedicated his life’s work to the game of golf as a player, teammate, coach, captain, businessman, ambassador and philanthropist. His knowledge, love for the game and sincere desire to coach and mentor the next generation of golfer and golf professional – while serving the membership here at Houston Oaks, attracting new players to the game and helping to attract prospective new members to the Club – will be the driving forces behind his efforts.”

As a member of the Club’s senior leadership team, Sutton will serve in an executive advisory role to management and ownership regarding all business matters, including golf and club operations and capital improvements, quality and service standards, additional real estate development and planning for new facilities and recreational amenities for the Club. Sutton’s previous experience as a player, golf course designer, real estate developer, businessman and facilities project manager make him a welcome addition to the team at Houston Oaks.
