Next College Student Athlete Partners with Blast Motion

Partnership pairs Blast Motion’s performance metrics and video with NCSA athlete profiles to offer Blast performance stats

(CHICAGO) — Next College Student Athlete (NCSA), the world’s largest and most successful college athletic recruiting network, announced a strategic data partnership with Blast Motion, an information technology company that provides motion analysis and performance insights.

Blast Motion offers the industry’s most accurate motion sensor technology in addition to an integrated suite of software analysis, coaching, communication and management tools to help athletes, coaches and teams improve their game.

The partnership will allow Blast Motion’s performance metrics and data to be integrated directly onto NCSA athlete profiles. New and existing Blast Motion athletes ages 13 and older will be able to opt-in to create a NCSA athlete profile. Athletes can then sync their Blast Connect and NCSA profiles, providing the most up-to-date stats for coaches.

The service will initially be available for NCSA baseball athletes, expanding to softball and golf in the coming months. NCSA’s educational recruiting tools and information will also be available to all Blast Motion athletes who choose to opt-in to the NCSA service.

“NCSA strives to provide the best resources and technology to student-athletes and families to help navigate the recruiting process,” said NCSA President Lisa Strasman. “As the industry leader in motion analytics and the preferred tool used by top college programs, this partnership will benefit coaches and NCSA student-athletes – allowing athletes to instantly update performance metrics and coaches to evaluate players.”

Over 300 top collegiate programs, including more than more than half of the Big 12, SEC, Pac-12, ACC, and Big Ten, use Blast technology and Blast Connect premium services for coaching, player development and recruiting.

“NCSA is breaking new ground by integrating a player’s performance data, captured by Blast, to enhance collegiate recruiting,” said Michael Fitzpatrick, CEO of Blast Motion. “With over 300 college programs using the Blast Motion solution today, colleges understand the value of Blast data and insights. The longer an athlete trains utilizing our insights, the better their performance and chance of obtaining a scholarship. Blast provides collegiate recruiters with reliable and objective data, allowing them to make a more informed decision.”

Founded in 2000 to help educate student-athletes and their families and assist them in navigating the college athletic recruiting process, NCSA combines proprietary technology with specialized experts to offer a comprehensive approach to every phase of the recruiting process.
