TPC Summerlin, a Bobby Weed Golf Design, Hosts 2018 Shriners Hospitals for Children Open

(PONTE VEDRA BEACH, Florida) – TPC Summerlin, in Las Vegas, designed by Bobby Weed Golf Design (BobbyWeed.com) with Fuzzy Zoeller serving as a consultant, played host this past week to the Shriners Hospitals for Children Open, an official PGA Tour event. Patrick Cantlay is the defending champion.

While challenging enough for the best players in the world, TPC Summerlin has multiple tees on each hole, enabling golfers of all abilities to enjoy the exceptional layout. The course, which opened in 1991, is a member of the Tournament Players Club network operated by the PGA Tour.

TPC Summerlin’s par-72, 7,243-yard layout was carved from a magnificent swath of rugged desert terrain. The average elevation of the course is approximately 2,700 feet above sea level.

“Summerlin was designed to be a rich desert oasis, with copses of mesquite trees and native grasses,” explained Weed.

TPC Summerlin was the first golf course in Nevada to be certified as an Audubon Sanctuary System by Audubon International. Great care was taken during the construction of TPC Summerlin to preserve and protect natural wildlife habitats.
