Tifosi Optics' Seek FC, left, and Crit feature color-enhancing technology |
Scratch that. If you haven’t tried sunglasses from Tifosi Optics, you are in luck, because the golf lenses are now blessed with “Enliven.”
The obvious question is, "What’s Enliven?” Tifosi compares the technology to your home stereo. Just like you can turn down the volume on your stereo, sunglasses “turn down” the brightness of your surroundings. Along those lines, your stereo allows you to adjust the bass and treble. Well, Enliven does that, but with colors.
I checked out two models from Tifosi - Seek FC and Crit (both $49.95) - with this color-enhancing technology and it’s true … the greens, blues and reds really pop.
Both the Seek FC and Crit are made of Grilamid TR-90, a homopolyamide nylon characterized by an extremely high alternative bending strength, low density and high resistance to chemical and UV damage. Hydrophilic rubber ear and nose pieces offer a no-slip fit, and adjustable ear and nose pieces provide a customizable, comfortable fit.
The Crit boasts vented lenses, as well, that improve air circulation and prevent fogging.
We’ve been huge proponents of sun safety for several years now and that goes double for your eyes. Cheap sunglasses give the impression that you’re about to step off a hill - making athletic endeavors difficult, but the Tifosi lenses do not distort your vision, so there’s no excuse not to wear them for added protection.
At $49.95, either the Seek FC or Crit would make excellent gifts for the golfer on your holiday shopping list. That’s easily half the cost of most sunglasses in the golf market.
