Sea Pines Country Club to Undergo Second Round of Enhancements

Multi-Million Dollar Fitness Center Highlights Most Recent Expansion

(HILTON HEAD, S.C.) – Sea Pines Country Club (SPCC) will initiate a $2.55 million fitness center renovation and expansion adding a grab-and-go café, infrared saunas, state-of-the-art equipment and other amenities.

The project includes an addition of a second floor, increasing the size of the facility from 2,500-square-feet to 7,300-square feet. It features a new multi-purpose room for group classes and gatherings, and a café serving up healthy fare with expansive views of the club’s tennis courts and practice facility driving range.

The locker rooms will double in size with new offerings such as fresh lockers. Infrared saunas, the latest cardio equipment and an audio and video system will round out the improvements.

“We always strive to enhance the member experience and add value to their lifestyle pursuits,” says Robbie Ames, GM / COO of Sea Pines Country Club. “The treatment rooms and infrared saunas help rehabilitate injured members. New locker rooms are more convenient for pool goers, tennis players, fitness enthusiasts and golfers and the café will offer healthy food options that everyone will love.”

Choate Construction will manage the project, estimated to begin after Labor Day. In 2017, Sea Pines Country Club completed a $2.7 million refresh of its clubhouse – including the creation of an entirely new Blue Heron Pub and Grille, modernizing its 24-meter outdoor pool and existing saline indoor pool and building a brand-new children’s splash pool.

“Sea Pines Country Club was awarded an 88 percent on America’s Healthiest Club’s Health Report, making us one of the country’s healthiest private clubs,” continues Ames. “Wellness is an integral part of our lifestyle offerings, and we’re thrilled to begin this final health-focused renovation.”

2018 has been a stellar year for Sea Pines Country Club, as it was recently awarded Distinguished Club status. Only 179 out of 3,400 private clubs in America have been given this prestigious distinction.
