Three-Time U.S. Open Champion Tiger Woods Files Entry to Play at Shinnecock Hills

(RELEASE) - Tiger Woods filed an entry today for the 118th U.S. Open Championship, which will be contested at Shinnecock Hills Golf Club, in Southampton, N.Y., June 14-17, 2018.

Woods, who won the U.S. Open in 2000, 2002 and 2008 and was a runner-up twice, has not played in the championship since 2015 at Chambers Bay, in University Place, Wash.

Woods, a nine-time USGA champion who has won 14 major professional titles, has competed in 19 U.S. Opens, including twice (1995, 2004) at Shinnecock Hills. He played in his first U.S. Open in 1995 but had to withdraw in the second round due to an injury. Woods tied for 17th in 2004.
