“Club Car for a Cause” Tees up Contest with Masterful Connection to The First Tee in Augusta

(Augusta, Ga.) - Club Car, the global leader in golf and utility vehicles and a brand of Ingersoll Rand, is hosting a ”Club Car For A Cause Selfie contest” as golf fans from around the world arrive in Augusta for the annual rite of spring, the Masters.

Club Car has placed 83 different branded vehicles, produced at its nearby Evans, Ga. plant at local Augusta businesses. Residents and visitors are invited to snap “selfie” photos with any of the 83 vehicles. Selfies are photographs that are taken by an individual of oneself with a smartphone and then shared through social media (see above).

From there, participants are asked to submit their selfie photos to Instagram with the hashtag #ClubCarforaCause. Club Car will then make a donation to the Augusta Chapter of The First Tee, whose mission is to provide youth with educational programs that build character, instill life-enhancing values and promote healthy choices through the game of golf.

In addition, participants who submit their selfies can vote on their favorite selfie for a chance to win a cash prize of $500 by visiting www.WGAC.com/clubcar.

This year (2018), Club Car celebrates 60 years in the business as it launched its first golf car in 1958. “We are proud to call Augusta home for the past 60 years and to give back to the community,” said Mark Wagner, president of Club Car. “In light of the excitement and prestige the Masters brings to our community it’s also a great week to showcase the good works of our employees and to reaffirm our commitment to the community and specifically The First Tee.”

Throughout the year, and over the decades, Club Car employees have and continue to actively support, fundraise and organize employee volunteer activities for a variety of area non-profit organizations. They’ve raised monies for the United Way, prepared critical materials for the Augusta Red Cross for people who have been displaced from their homes, and with the Golden Harvest Food Bank, volunteers work at food pantries and provide community education for those in need.

As one of the first golf car manufacturers, Club Car has remained committed to the game of golf from the start with its support of We are Golf, Play Golf America, and US Kids Golf Foundation as well as supporting the growth of golf in other various capacities, including The First Tee.

Club Car has both administrative and manufacturing facilities located in Augusta and recently broke ground for a new Distribution Center in Columbia County.
