Tour Edge Exotics CBX Hybrids, Fairway Woods Earn 3rd Place, Three Top 10’s on PGA TOUR Champions

Exotics CBX is #2 Most Played Hybrid Model at Boca Raton Championship

(Boca Raton, FL) - PGA Champions Tour professionals using the new Tour Edge Exotics CBX hybrids and fairway woods earned a 3rd place finish and three Top 10 finishes at the Boca Raton Championship on the PGA TOUR Champions Sunday.

Seven new players playing Exotics CBX this week marks 19 professionals representing 87 PGA TOUR victories to have put the spin killing hybrids and fairway woods into play over the last seven events on the PGA TOUR Champions.

According to the Darrell Survey, 12 Exotics CBX hybrids and fairway woods were put into play this week in Boca Raton. With nine hybrids in play, Tour Edge was the #4 ranked manufacturer in the hybrid count and Exotics CBX ranked as the #2 most played model at the Boca Raton Championship.

“There is no doubt now that the Exotics CBX are the fastest growing metalwoods on the PGA TOUR Champions and on any other professional tour in golf,” said Tour Edge President and Master Club Designer David Glod. “We also have some exciting developments with Exotics CBX fairway woods, hybrids and Iron-Woods making their way onto the PGA TOUR and Web.com Tour. The word is spreading that if you want the distance and accuracy of a Titanium face in a hybrid or fairway wood, there is only one game in town.”

• The 3rd place finisher was a new Exotics CBX user who put in an 18 degree Exotics CBX with an Aldila Tour Green shaft. He played the Exotics CBX to perfection in the last round with five birdies and no bogeys en route to a 67 on the scorecard. The player now ranks 6th in the 2018 Charles Schwab Cup standings after earning $115,200 this week.

• A 5-time PGA TOUR winner played an Exotics CBX fairway wood for the fourth event in a row and finished T7 with the club this week. The player has scored three Top 25 finishes out of the four events he has played the c

• The current #28 ranked player on the PGA TOUR Champions played an 18- degree Exotics CBX hybrid with an Aldila Tour Blue shaft to a T10 finish.

• The low round of the event was recorded with a 64 in the 2nd round of the event by a player using a 16-degree Exotics CBX hybrid with a Fujikura ATMOS shaft. The player finished T24, giving Exotics CBX four players in the Top 25.

After a 3rd place finish to start the 2018 season in Hawaii and another 3rd place finish in Boca Raton, Exotics CBX metalwoods have earned two Top 5 finishes and four Top 10 finishes to start the 2018 season. This week the Champions Tour season moves across southern Florida to Naples for the Chubb Classic held at TwinEagles Golf Club.

The new Exotics CBX fairway woods and hybrid were designed with a multi-material construction that includes the top of the line in Beta Titanium, Hyper Steel and Carbon Composite materials.

This unique combination of three different materials helps produce a penetrating ball flight that cuts through windy conditions and lowers side spin rates for greater accuracy.

They are currently the only Titanium face fairway woods and hybrids available for sale in the US market.

The Exotics CBX hybrid’s higher CG is located slightly forward in the club head through the use of a carbon fiber in the sole, which is significantly lighter than stainless steel. This helps to increase ball speed and reduce spin, which makes for less dispersion Tour Edge’s extremely thin Beta-titanium cup-face enlarges the ideal hitting area on the clubs.

It is brazed to stainless steel behind the hitting area which allows the face to flex more at impact, while the Speed Ramp sole design o provide reduced turf interaction so the club can maintain its speed through the hitting area. This has led to independent robot tests that have shown the CBX to average more than 16 yards longer in distance than several of the best selling fairway woods on the market.

Six different loft options in the Exotics CBX hybrids (16°, 17°, 18°, 19°, 20° and 22°) makes the Exotics CBX the most extensive hybrid line available with more lofts available than any other manufacturer that has hybrids in play on the professional tours.

The Tour Edge Exotics CBX fairway woods, Exotics CBX hybrids and Exotics CBX Iron-woods are currently available at select authorized Tour Edge retailers. To find a Tour Edge retailer near you, call (800) 515-3343 or visit www.touredge.com.
