Registration Now Open for the 21st Annual Father-Son, New Parent-Child Team Classics

Game’s Most Popular Family Event Adding New Tournament to Bring Mothers, Daughters and Grandparents to Family Golf Week in Myrtle Beach

(Myrtle Beach, S.C.) – The 2018 Father-Son Team Classic will begin accepting entries on November 13, and the tournament will feature a new division designed to include the entire family in one of the game’s most popular events.

The Father-Son Team Classic is the largest tournament of its kind in the world, annually attracting 600+ players from 40 states and three countries to Myrtle Beach for an event that celebrates the family bonds golf helps breed.

This year’s event will feature the addition of the Parent-Child Team Classic, which will allow combinations of mothers, fathers, sons, daughters and grandparents to compete as two-person teams. The model for the Parent-Child event will mirror the Father-Son, but they will be two distinct tournaments.

The 2018 events will be held July 18-21, and players can register for the tournament at www.FamilyGolfWeek.com.

Early entry fee for both events is $995 per team and includes three rounds of golf, daily lunch, pre- and post-event functions, and a gift bag valued at $600. Included among the gift bag items is a $150 tournament gift card for each player that can be used at host courses for food, merchandise and pre-tournament practice rounds. Players will also receive a logo’d polo shirt, a dozen Srixon golf balls and more.

Players registering before January 1st will receive an additional $50 on their gift card, bringing the total value to $200 per player.

The 54-hole tournaments, will be played on several of Myrtle Beach’s best courses, including TPC Myrtle Beach, Rivers Edge and the Fazio Course at Barefoot Resort, all layouts that have been ranked among America’s 100 Greatest Public Courses. Joining the top 100 layouts as host courses are Crow Creek, which just installed new bentgrass greens, Legends Resort and Wachesaw Plantation East, a four-time host of a LPGA event.

Both events, which require participants to have a USGA approved handicap, will feature a different format of play each day, starting with a two-person captain’s choice followed by better ball and alternate shot.

East Coast Golf Events has partnered with Southern Dunes, the tournament’s long-time proprietor, to run the events. East Coast Golf Events, LLC is a valued National Partner of East Coast Golf Management, one of the region’s most innovative and resourceful companies, maximizing growth for its partner courses.

East Coast is working with the Golf Tourism Solution’s Tournament Division, which manages eight events, including the Myrtle Beach World Amateur Handicap Championship, to handle player communications, marketing and operations.
