Product Review: Trion:Z Bracelets

Tired? Anxious? Feeling somewhat depressed? The end of another golf season can be a real downer, but may have little to do with how you’re feeling. You may want to check your ions.

Ions? When it comes to ions, negative are good - positive are bad. Think of your favorite athlete going in for x-rays. If the x-rays come out negative, that’s a positive.

You may be wondering how we get these beneficial ions. Well, they’re abundant in fresh air, at the beach and around waterfalls. That’s great! We love all of those things, but most of us don’t get to live our lives surrounded by nature. We’re in office buildings and trapped in cubicles for much of our day. That’s where the energy-zapping positive ions thrive.

What are your options? Well, you could plug in one of the many negative ion generators on the market. They range from as little as $50 to more than $1,000. They’ve been proven to work.

According to a Columbia University study of people with winter and chronic depression, negative ion generators have been shown to relieve depression as much as antidepressants.

“Generally speaking, negative ions increase the flow of oxygen to the brain; resulting in higher alertness, decreased drowsiness, and more mental energy," says Pierce J. Howard, PhD, author of The Owners Manual for the Brain: Everyday Applications from Mind Brain Research and director of research at the Center for Applied Cognitive Sciences in Charlotte, N.C. "They also may protect against germs in the air, resulting in decreased irritation due to inhaling various particles that make you sneeze, cough, or have a throat irritation."

Great, but it’s hard to take those with you when you’re on the move. For those who want helpful negative ions incorporated into their busy days, we suggest wearable technology ... and Trion:Z is the leader in that category.

Trion:Z sells both wristbands and necklaces. We took a look at three of the wristbands: Maxi Loop ($30), Zen Loop Solo ($35) and Zen Loop Duo ($40).

The Maxi Loop wristband offers negative ion producing materials in the pod and patented ANSPO magnetic technology working together to produce effective levels of magnetic and ion therapy. The flexible, waterproof silicone band has a Polarized Pod Capsule containing 2 x 1,000 Gauss Magnets and delivers more than 1,000 negative ions per second.

The Zen Loop Solo features the company’s patented ANSPO Magnetic Technology and ION CORE - a central rubberized core infused with negative ion producing minerals. Like the Maxi Loop, the brushed stainless steel power POD features 2 x 1,000 Gauss Magnets. Going beyond the Maxi Loop, this ION CORE produces more than 1,500 negative ions per second. The Zen Loop Solo’s construction was inspired by premium grade braided cord climbing rope.

As you may expect from the name, the Zen Loop Duo is similar the the Solo, but double the construction. While it also has the negative ion infused ION CORE, which produces more than 1,500 negative ions per second, the Duo boasts a polarized anodized brushed Pod Capsule containing 4 x 1,000 Gauss Magnets with patented ANSPO technology.

Both Zen Loops feature magnetic secure auto fit clasp for ease of fit.

I went in with an open mind and feel as though I reaped the rewards of negative ions? Psychosomatic? Maybe, but whatever works. I firmly believe in the power of positive thinking. Think you're going to miss that 3-footer? You most likely will. When you know you're going to make that putt, get ready to dig it out of the bottom of the cup! To each his own, but for me, I'm behind the benefits of negative ions.
