Tiburón Golf Club to Reopen

Award-winning facility secure after Category 4 Hurricane rocks Naples

(NAPLES, FLA.) – After suffering through 142 mph winds during Hurricane Irma, the most powerful storm to ever hit Southwest Florida, Tiburón Golf Club at The Ritz-Carlton Golf Resort, Naples, is scheduled to reopen on Tuesday, September 19, 2017.

When the golf course reopens, golfers will enjoy incredible playing conditions at one of the top golf courses in the state of Florida.

"During these trying times, we hope that golf can provide a distraction and sense of normalcy from Hurricane Irma. The facility did suffer some damage during the storm but our team has worked diligently to clean things up and secure the facility so we can safely reopen," said Kevin DeDonato, general manager. "We are excited to welcome our members and guests back to Tiburón."

In addition to the golf course reopening, Sydney’s Pub, a Contemporary American restaurant located in the heart of Tiburón Golf Club, will be closed until further notice. We will be offering food and beverage service in The Rotunda until the pub reopens.

"The golf course did withstand some damage during the storm, but thanks to our tireless maintenance crew, the course is playable and is in great shape. All things considered, we're very fortunate," said Chad Nigro, director of golf.

The Black Course at Tiburón Golf Club is currently being remastered, and while Hurricane Irma caused some damage on that course, as well, crews are continuing to make progress and the golf course is scheduled to reopen on November 1, 2017.
