Worlds Top Golfers Share Favorite Dads Day Memories

(ATLANTA, GA) – Father’s Day has a special meaning to most and for PGA TOUR athletes it’s no different. In a new PGA TOUR Superstore multi-media campaign and tribute to dads, the world’s best golfers share favorite memories of their own fathers, and for some, their best moments as dads themselves.

Over the next two-week span, the national golf and tennis retailer (PGA TOUR Superstore), known for its interactive stores across the country, will share personal stories, favorite memories and for some, pure emotion centered on their fathers. To track the videos as they are released, visit www.pgatoursuperstore.com/dad.

Jordan Spieth, Sergio Garcia, Jason Day, Rickie Fowler, Justin Rose, Bubba Watson and others will be part of a campaign that includes national television spots that will air on Golf Channel and in select markets coast to coast where PGA TOUR Superstore has locations. In addition, content from this Father’s Day tribute will be posted on PGATOUR.COM. Troy Merritt and Aaron Baddeley, for instance, talk about their dads with heartfelt emotion.

Merritt said of his dad, “I inherited your soft heart and I know that if you had to talk about your father you would be tearing up as well, and it’s one of the many qualities I appreciate that you have passed on to me.”

Aaron Baddeley added, “If I could be half the dad and half the husband you were, I would be winning.”

In addition to five TV spots, PGA TOUR Superstore will release at least one PGA TOUR player video every day through Father’s Day – in a unique approach to showing a side of PGA TOUR players that golf fans rarely see.  In addition to the more than 20 player videos, each player also recorded a separate video of his top Father’s Day golf gift recommendations, which will also be released in the lead up to Father’s Day.

“This campaign not only helps people find the best golf gifts for Father’s Day, it also portrays the human side of our game’s best players. It’s inspiring and sentimental and you get to see a side of Sergio, Jordan, and others you don’t often get to see,” said PGA TOUR President and CEO Dick Sullivan. “Fans want to be connected and engaged with their favorite athletes. Father’s Day is all about the connection between fathers and their kids, and most golfers, including the world’s best that we have assembled, learned the sport from their dad.”
