(SANTEE, S.C.) – With large areas of South Carolina starting to dry out from the historic flooding, the many golf courses around Santee are already reopening for play and gearing up for the fall season.
The region’s sandy soil conditions helped tremendously with water drainage. Santee Cooper Country Club reopens Tuesday with Lake Marion Golf Course following suit Wednesday. Both courses should have carts off the paths this weekend.
“Our hearts go out to the many South Carolinians impacted by the flooding,” says Todd Miller, general manager of Santee Cooper Resort. “The Santee area dodged a few bullets and welcomes local golfers and traveling golfers for the fall season without issue.”
The upcoming weather forecast offers ideal autumn weather. The South Carolina Department of Transportation plans to have Interstates 95, 77 and 26 reopened by the weekend.
