KPMG Women’s PGA Championship Seeks Adult, Junior Volunteers

(Sammamish, Wash.) – When the 2016 KPMG Women’s PGA Championship comes to Sahalee Country Club in the Seattle-area community of Sammamish, Wash. next June, its success will depend on local support in the form of adult and junior volunteers who will be called on to help in a variety of exciting capacities.

The KPMG Women’s PGA Championship, broadcast in partnership with NBC and Golf Channel, combines a world-class, annual major golf championship with a women’s leadership summit and an ongoing community initiative – all focused on the development, advancement and empowerment of women on and off the golf course. The Championship will be held at Sahalee Country Club, June 7-12, 2016.

"Sahalee is thrilled to partner with KPMG, the PGA of America, and the LPGA to host this Championship,” said Sahalee Country Club President Steve Oaks. “However, its success is dependent upon our volunteers and the Pacific Northwest golf community. We are anticipating an enthusiastic response from those that want to be part of this major championship.”

Notable volunteer committees include admission sales and will call, contestant transportation, leader boards and thru boards, and walking scorers.

Adult volunteers, ages 22 and older, will be required to work four shifts and contribute a minimum of 16 hours total, while junior volunteers, ages 14 to 21, will have to work three shifts and contribute a minimum of 12 hours. Shifts will last between three and four hours. Junior volunteers are needed for standard bearers, leader boards and thru boards, and monster board.

All volunteers will receive a uniform (golf shirt, outerwear piece, and headwear), a credential providing site access from Tuesday through Sunday of event week, preferred complimentary parking, a discount in the Championship Golf Shop, a Championship program, and a limited number of meal and water vouchers. The volunteer fee for adults is $130; there is no fee for junior volunteers.
