TGA Premier Junior Golf Franchise Acquired by CSC Golf Management in Southern California

Multiple course operator gains major market advantage through community feeder system

(Temecula, CA) – As the CEO of CSC Golf Management Company (CSC), which oversees multiple golf properties in Southern California, PGA Professional Mark Stevens was seeking an advantage over competition that would help build business and ensure his courses future.

Acquiring the TGA Premier Junior Golf (TGA) franchise territory in Temecula, Calif., creates that advantage. CSC is also the first golf management company to invest in the TGA franchise model.

“We are going to engage thousands of young families and youth through TGA, many of whom have never played the game and direct them to our golf course properties, which will drive revenue and help to ensure the future of not only our properties, but our great sport,” Stevens said.

The innovative TGA program has become the nation’s leader in making golf available to the general public. It places the game on a level playing field with other mainstream sports as an activity of choice for youth. The unique franchise business model runs introductory programs at schools and community centers, and recreational programs at golf courses and parks.

TGA (Teach, Grow, Achieve) has brought over 465,000 new golfers into the sport and made the game of golf available to more than 1.5 million families across the country. Programs activate youth ages 3-15 and their parents ages 25-45.

Stevens, after seeing first-hand how the TGA programs successfully performed at a golf facility in San Diego he managed, decided to acquire the TGA franchise covering the territory of Temecula, Murrieta, and Menifee. He also made it a family business by involving his wife Julie and their sons Bayley and Jeremy. Julie is a schoolteacher, who understands the value of enrichment programs for youth. Bayley and Jeremy will also teach programs.

PGA professionals Kris Miller and Gena Dells will help to develop the TGA Player Pathway for the franchise by helping students and families learn the value of the game and its life lessons. This will include directing them to the CSC managed courses Temeku Hills Country Club (Now the Legends), Redhawk Golf Club, Links at Summerly and The Glen Ivy Golf Club for junior camps, leagues and clinics along with the “Get Golf Ready” program for adults.

From there the player pathway continues to the competitive level with enhanced skill development and lessons with CSC PGA Professionals, PGA Junior League Golf involvement, and the national Drive Chip and Putt competition.

“As PGA professionals, educators and leaders we are excited to build on the TGA program that has been started in our area,” Stevens said. “To be able to impact and grow our game while enriching the lives of youth through TGA lessons including the incorporated STEM academics is very fulfilling.”
