Nicklaus' Record Five PGA Championship Wins Celebrated in Artistic Tribute

2015 Marks 35th Anniversary of Nicklaus’ Last PGA Title

(Bonita Springs, FL) — Jack Nicklaus won the last of his five PGA Championship titles in 1980 at Oak Hill Country Club in Rochester, New York.  The victory was Nicklaus’ 17th in his eventual record-setting string of 18 major championship victories.  The win tied him with Walter Hagen for capturing the most PGA Championship titles and Nicklaus’ seven shot advantage also set a record as the largest victory margin since the tournament switched to stroke play in 1958.

World-renowned golf artist Walt Spitzmiller vividly captures Nicklaus’ memorable five PGA Championships as part of an extraordinary collection of 18 paintings simply entitled Jack’s Majors. This unprecedented artistic tribute memorializes a special moment from what Spitzmiller believes is golf’s greatest achievement of the modern era.   The artist spent eight years painting Jack Nicklaus’ 18 major championship titles, and each work brings to life a scene from the “Golden Bear’s” unmatched legacy.

About this artistic tribute, Nicklaus said:  “I have always respected Walt’s work and how he interprets a scene and a moment in history.  Walt dedicated himself to the challenge of putting on canvas the story of my 18 majors.  It took me 25 years to win them, and it took Walt eight years to paint them.  I hope he can reflect on his body of work with pride, because he should.”

In addition to the opportunity to purchase one or more paintings in the collection, Jack’s Majors is also available in an exquisite and strictly limited edition Portfolio book.  Only 100 museum-quality volumes numbered and signed by Jack Nicklaus and the artist will be made available on a custom order basis. The oversize hand bound and luxuriously crafted Portfolio includes 18 giclee art prints (18” x 24”), along with accompanying text that recounts the highlights of each tournament victory.  For more information visit www.waltspitzmiller.com.
