(PHILADELPHIA, Pa.) - Sit back, take a deep breath, relax, slow down the pace ... they are all necessary preparations for a trip to Reynolds Plantation on Lake Oconee in Georgia.
Lake Oconee is the second largest lake in the state of Georgia. Reynolds Plantation occupies thousands of picturesque shoreline acres of this natural sanctuary that lies halfway between Atlanta and Augusta.
The Traveling Golfer takes an in-depth look at the 117 holes of golf that make up Reynolds Plantation, as well as the accommodation options at the resort and the charm of its surrounding area.
While the newest of the courses - The Creek Club, designed by Jim Engh - is private, the rest of the courses are available to resort guests.
The Landing and the Plantation Course were both designed by Bob Cupp. The Landing was the first course to open, in 1986. Tom Fazio added 27 holes of scenic beauty with the National Course. Jack Nicklaus built the Great Waters Course and it hosted the PGA Tour's Anderson Consulting World Championship from 1995 to 1997 and Golf Channel's Big Break Invitational earlier this year. The Oconee Course was designed by Rees Jones and recently was lauded as one of the Top Resort Courses in America by Golf Digest.
"I don't know of a finer collection of golf courses on one property anywhere in the country," exclaimed Traveling Golfer host Tony Leodora. "With 117 holes, a golfer can come here for almost a week and never play the same hole twice. But the bottom line is that golfers will want to play the courses at Reynolds Plantation over and over."
In addition, this month's show takes an inside look at The Kingdom, the high-tech club-fitting facility built by TaylorMade for its touring professionals - a facility that is also open to the public.
Add visits to The Ritz Carlton Lodge, the many restaurants on the property and a charming look at the nearby town of Greensboro and it all adds up to a very entertaining show.

The episode from Reynolds Plantation begins airing December 1 and runs throughout the month on The Traveling Golfer Network ... including the new Golf Director Network (see full list of sites on www.travelinggolfervideo.com). It also will air on Monday, December 8 as part of the Press Box television show in Myrtle Beach, 5 to 7 p.m. on HTC Ch. 4, and as part of the Inside Golf television show on Comcast SportsNet Philadelphia and Comcast SportsNet in Baltimore/Washington at the end of December.
Responding to golfers' never-ending demands to learn more about interesting golf courses and golf resorts across the country and around the world, well-traveled host Tony Leodora created the Traveling Golfer so he could take viewers on video golf trips to some of the most exciting golf locations.
The Traveling Golfer appears as a series of monthly shows hosted by Leodora, who has 15 years of experience in televised golf shows. The featured destination stays on the website for one month, before being replaced by a new show. The old shows are archived on the home website, www.travelinggolfervideo.com.
