Stay Warm, Stay Dry: Compete on the Course in Any Weather Condition

New Nike Golf apparel and footwear protect the golf athlete from the elements

(Beaverton, Ore.) - Golf isn’t a fair-weather sport. It’s an all-weather sport. Playing golf is about enjoying the elements, regardless of what Mother Nature brings.

This is why Nike Golf is introducing new apparel and footwear designed for maximum warmth, breathability, water and wind resistance and comfort, the perfect gear for imperfect conditions. The Fall/Holiday 2014 Nike Golf collection inspires the golf athlete to not only brave the elements, but also embrace them.

NIKE AEROLOFT JACKET + WOMENS NIKE AEROLOFT VEST
As any golf athlete knows, cold weather can really derail a round. With a cold core, the body becomes stiff, which can interrupt a fluid swing.

Aeroloft Jacket
Nike designers, with help from the Nike Explore Team Sport Research Lab, faced the challenge of creating an insulated performance jacket that allows the body to retain heat while regulating the temperature to keep the athlete comfortable. In response, they developed the Nike Aeroloft technology found in the new Nike Aeroloft Jacket. The Nike Aeroloft Jacket (MSRP $220) and the Womens Nike Aeroloft Vest (MSRP $200) feature engineered laser-cut holes between panels of body-mapped 700-power goose down insulation. The down fill provides lightweight warmth, and the perforations provide ventilation, assisting the body’s natural ability to regulate body temperature by dispersing excess heat. While the front paneling of the Nike Aeroloft Jacket and Vest is down-filled, the back panel (and sleeves on the jacket) is crafted from brush back fleece that enables stretch and thermal properties to aid the golf swing.

NIKE HYPERADAPT STORM-FIT JACKET
When battling heavy showers and wind gusts, golfers need comfort, mobility and protection from their outerwear. Blending flexibility and waterproof protection, the Nike Hyperadapt Storm-FIT jacket (MSRP $280) is the only golf performance rain jacket of its kind. It combines sweater-like stretch and an impenetrable outer layer to keep athletes comfortable and focused on their game.

With no-sew technology throughout the inner layer of the jacket, designers minimized chafing and added a new stretch component to the garment. A four-way stretch system in the shoulders and arms maximizes mobility and helps eliminate restrictions during the swing. The woven, stretch knit laminate combination ensures a quiet garment with a sweater-like feel for comfort and protection at every angle.

NIKE WEATHERIZED PANT
While the core is protected with the Nike Aeroloft Jacket and the Nike Hyperadapt Storm-FIT Jacket, it is crucial to not forget about keeping the legs warm. The Nike Weatherized Pant (MSRP $120) was developed as a warm pant for athletes who routinely play in colder weather. The fabric is engineered to have elevated thermal qualities by introducing a brushed back fabrication on the back of the fabric, combined with a wind and water resistant jersey face. This pant features all of the weather protection a golf athlete needs to battle the elements, yet still has the appearance of a classic golf pant.

NIKE LUNAR BANDON
Lunar Bandon
Golfers are on their feet for 18 holes, at times walking through wet and muddy grass, or battling a rainstorm while on an awkward lie. These conditions require footwear designed for the elements – golf shoes that keep feet dry, warm and comfortable. The Nike Lunar Bandon (MSRP $180) offers a seam-sealed waterproof shoe to battle the elements. Built on a men’s athletic last and featuring Nike Lunarlon cushioning in the heel, the shoe is designed for comfort. The asymmetrical sealed zipper and speed lace system helps keep the shoe snug to the foot while keeping water out of the shoe so the athletes stays dry throughout the round.

The Nike Hyperadapt Storm-FIT Jacket and the Nike Lunar Bandon are available now on nike.com. The Nike Aeroloft Jacket and Vest and Nike Weatherized Pant will be available on nike.com in November.
