Youth Golf Leader Nicole Weller Launches New Golf Education Product for Young Children

(SAVANNAH, GA) – Nicole Weller, owner of Savannah-based Weller Sports Ventures, has launched a new golf education product for children, ages 2 through 6. Based on her original youth golf sticker activity book Stick to Sports: Let’s Play Golf (2011), the new Match Play Golf flashcard game is an offshoot product designed to enhance and continue the opportunity for children to enjoy an introduction to the game.

About Match Play Golf Flashcard Games
Match Play Golf (two games) consists of a set of handmade, laminated cards that contain a cover card, an instruction card and 10 double illustrated golf images with basic terms for a total of 22 cards. Once children learn the images and corresponding terms, the cards are placed face down on a surface and jumbled randomly. Two cards are selected with the challenge to find the matching image in a fun and non-competitive manner.

The goal of the game is to introduce a fun way to assist with development of reading skills, image pattern recognition, motor skill control and memory. Variations of the game are explained based on ability level.

About Nicole Weller
Nicole Weller is a Class A member of the PGA of America and the LPGA Teaching & Club Professionals, as well as a member of Proponent Group, an golf industry consortium of the game’s top instructors. She is SNAG, TPI, Spirit of Golf and U.S. Kids Golf Certified and serves as a staff ambassador for The Littlest Golfer.  She is owner of Weller Sports Ventures, LLC and also the Head Teaching Professional at The Landings Club in Savannah, Georgia, where she resides with husband and fellow PGA Professional Ty Weller.

Raised in Lakeville, Massachusetts and introduced to golf at age four by her father, Nicole played in numerous state, regional and national amateur youth events before competing on the Wake Forest University Women’s Golf Team while earning a B.S. in Psychology (1994).  Weller earned a Master’s Degree in sport psychology at University of Tennessee-Knoxville (1995).

Weller is the first dual award recipient of the PGA and LPGA T&CP National Youth Golf Leader Awards in the same year (2013) and has earned other honors such as the Golf Range Association of America Top 50 Growth of the Game Teacher, three-time U.S. Kids Golf Top 50 Teacher, U.S. Kids Golf Master Teacher (2013), Georgia PGA Horton Smith Section Award (2012), Golf Digest Top 50 Women Teachers and Golf Digest Best Young Teacher.
