Todd Anderson, Sea Island Director of Instruction, joins PING staff

(PHOENIX) - Todd Anderson, Sea Island Director of Instruction in Sea Island, Ga., has joined PING as a brand ambassador. Anderson, a nationally renowned instructor who coaches PING Pro Billy Horschel and several other top-rated PGA Tour players, will represent PING at Sea Island and throughout the world of golf.

“Todd’s record of success with golfers of all abilities makes him a perfect fit for our team,” said John A. Solheim, PING Chairman & CEO. “He has an amazing ability to bring out the best in golfers no matter their ability. It takes a special skill to be able to improve the games of everyone from world-class players to those with higher handicaps. Todd has that gift and we’re excited he’ll be representing PING at Sea Island and throughout his other high-profile activities.”

The 2010 National PGA Teacher of the Year, Anderson has published more than 50 articles on instruction for leading magazines, including Golf Digest, where he is a member of the teaching-professional staff. He’s currently ranked 8th nationally (#1 in Georgia) by the magazine, which has also honored him as one of “America’s 50 Greatest Teachers” every year since 2000, when the list was established. He has been a Golf Magazine Top 100 teacher since 2002.

Anderson’s long career working with golfers of all skill levels has given him significant insight on how properly fit clubs will lead to improved performance. He is a strong advocate for custom-fitting, whether it’s a top tour player or a golfer who just plays for the love of the game.

“Instruction and fitting go hand in hand,” said Anderson, who resides in Sea Island with his family. “I’ve learned over the years that fitting my students with clubs built to their specifications and their swing is vital to helping them play better. Once this is established, we can then focus on improving their technique through proper instruction. PING pioneered fitting more than 40 years ago and remains the leader today. Joining forces with their engineering team and fitting specialists is very exciting for me.

“On top of that, I’ve long admired PING and the Solheim family for their contributions to golf. All of us who play the game have been touched by their company’s influence in some way, whether it’s through their incredible generosity or one of PING’s numerous innovations that make the game more enjoyable.”
