The PowerBilt Air Force One Charity Golf Tour is ready for take off

(PALM DESERT, Calif.) – All systems are go for the launch of the PowerBilt Air Force One Charity Golf Tour. The inaugural event will be April 17 at the renowned Pelican Hill golf resort along the shores of Newport Beach, California.
                                    
Details of the event are still being worked out by the organizer, the Charity Golf Association (CGA), which is assembling a host of actors, professional athletes, business leaders and community influencers to participate.

“We’re eagerly looking forward to the first tournament, as this is the initial year of the tour,” says PowerBilt President Ross Kvinge.  “We strongly believe that celebrity events expose new people to golf and help grow the game.  And that’s one of our primary goals at PowerBilt.  We want to bring new people into the game in a way they find fun, entertaining and see it as a way to stay fit.”

Earlier this year, PowerBilt partnered with mixed martial arts fighter Cub Swanson as a way to promote fitness in golf and to introduce the sport to a younger, energetic audience.

“Golf is not growing because it’s expensive and is plagued by slow play.  We want to play a role in attracting younger athletes who care about fitness and want top-quality equipment, like PowerBilt clubs, which are among the best on the market, but don’t cost as much as other premium clubs,” adds Kvinge.  “Partnering with the Charity Golf Association will help create the type of exposure we’re looking for.”

The CGA is redefining the generosity model for supporting local charities.  How does it work?
Most local charity organizations are usually ill-equipped to run a fundraising tournament.  And when they do, a typical event raises only about $5,000.

The CGA works with three charities per event, without any management fees from the non-profits, and all three charities receive donations well above the $5,000 average.  The membership of the CGA, celebrities, corporate executives and golf industry leader’s work with social networking to increase awareness, support and giving.  In turn, CGA creates a program for member corporations and their brands that concurrently work to improve overall Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), simplify charitable decision-making, improve brand awareness, leverage member relationships, manage non-profit engagements, and measure performance—all in one simple membership.
