'Jack’s Majors' Fine Art Collection Honors 50th Anniversary of Nicklaus’ First PGA Championship Title

1963 Victory Part of Artistic Tribute to Nicklaus’ Unprecedented 18 Major Titles

(Bonita Springs, FL)— This year marks the 50th anniversary  of Jack Nicklaus’ first of his record-tying five PGA Championships, which came in 1963 at the Dallas Athletic Club in Dallas, Texas.  In an extraordinary collection of evocative paintings entitled Jack’s Majors by world-renowned golf artist Walt Spitzmiller, all five PGA titles are commemorated as central to Nicklaus’ eventual record-setting string of 18 major championship victories.

Jack’s Majors captures Nicklaus’ memorable maiden PGA Championship win on canvas, chronicles the ensuing four PGA titles (1971, 1973, 1975, 1980) and the other 13 majors in an eloquent and unprecedented artistic tribute that brings to life a special moment from the “Golden Bear’s” unmatched legacy.  Nicklaus’ last PGA Championship win in 1980 came at Oak Hill Country Club, site of next week’s tournament. His fifth PGA tied Walter Hagen for most victories and he set the largest margin of victory record by seven strokes, which held up for 30 years until Rory McIIroy won by eight shots on the Ocean Course at Kiawah in 2012.

Notably, Nicklaus had the chance to win four more PGA Championships but finished runner-up instead.  To this day, he holds the record for the most second-places in the tournament.

In addition to the original paintings in the collection, Jack’s Majors is available in an exquisite and strictly limited edition Portfolio book. Only 100 museum-quality volumes numbered and signed by Jack Nicklaus and the artist will be made available on a custom order basis. The oversize hand bound and luxuriously crafted Portfolio includes 18 giclee art prints (18” x 24”), along with accompanying text that recounts the highlights of each tournament victory by best-selling golf author, Don Wade.
