General's Ridge Golf Course Installs Forward Tees for Faster Play

(MANASSAS PARK, VA) - General's Ridge Golf Course - owned by Prince William County Park Authority, managed by Billy Casper Golf and located in Manassas Park VA - has installed a new set of forward tees to encourage faster play.

Based on the TEE IT FORWARD program jointly supported by The PGA of America and USGA, the new Napoleon Tees at General's Ridge are causing golfers to have more fun by playing from tees that better align with their ability.

The initiative reminds beginners and seasoned golfers alike that "teeing it forward" makes the course more playable and enjoyable, while also making it possible to play faster, score better and hit more lofted clubs into greens.

"The reaction to the new tees is amazing," says Dan Wagner, General Manager of General's Ridge. "Instead of being intimated or frustrated by the game, golfers in some instances are shooting career rounds."

One of the most challenging courses in the Washington, D.C. region, General's Ridge Golf Course is an 18-hole, par-72, 6,651-yard championship layout in Manassas Park, VA and named for the area's rich Civil War history.

Nestled among a forest of oak, beech and poplar trees, the course rambles over rolling hills and spectacular scenery, grabbing golfers' attentions form the first tee. Described as North Carolina mountain style, General's Ridge is a secluded retreat in thriving Northern Virginia and home to local hawks, deer, fox and other wildlife.

A driving range with 10 covered hitting bays, large putting and chipping green, and instruction ensure golfers hone their game between rounds.

Golfers take their post-round tales to the clubhouse and its restaurant serving lunch and dinner daily. A fully-stocked pro shop satisfies golfers' apparel and gear needs. General's Ridge is popular for business and social functions.
