McDowell Wins Alstom Open de France, Now No. 6 in Official World Golf Rankings

(HUNTINGTON BEACH, CA) – Srixon and Cleveland Golf congratulate staffer Graeme McDowell for his victory at the 2013 Alstom Open de France at Le Golf National in Paris, where he shot a 4-under-par 67 in the final round to capture his ninth European Tour title by four strokes. McDowell, who had five birdies and a bogey during his final round, finished the event at 9-under 275.

It was McDowell’s third win in as many months, boosting him three spots to No. 6 in the latest Official World Golf Rankings. The 2010 U.S. Open champion won €500,000 and is now second in The Race to Dubai with €1,530,715, only €27,185 behind the leader.

Relying upon his characteristic accuracy off the tee and deft short game, the 33-year-old native of Northern Ireland also led the field in greens in regulation. He made only four bogeys all week.

“When I put myself in position, thankfully I’ve managed to learn how to calm my emotions and how to respond under pressure,” said McDowell, whose next start will be The Open Championship beginning July 18.

McDowell currently plays the new Srixon Z-STAR with Spin Skin technology, which will be released August 8. The new Z-STAR has already earned more than 40 professional wins worldwide. McDowell also plays a Cleveland Classic 290 driver (9.0°/ Miyazaki Kusala Black 61X), a Cleveland Launcher FL fairway (14° / Miyazaki Kusala Indigo 72X), a Cleveland 588 MT 3-iron, a Cleveland 588 TT 4-iron, Srixon Z-TX II irons (5-9), Cleveland 588 Precision Forged wedges (48° / 52°), and a Cleveland 588 RTX wedge (58°). McDowell also wears a Srixon hat, a Srixon glove and carries a Srixon bag.
