St. Andrews Golf Art Pays Tribute to THE PLAYERS Championship

Showcases TPC Sawgrass Stadium Course Painting

(St. Andrews, Scotland) — St. Andrews Golf Art (www.standrewsgolfart.com) celebrates this week’s PLAYERS Championship by highlighting artist Adriano Manocchia’s evocative oil painting of the famed TPC Sawgrass Stadium Course’s 16th and 17th holes.  The work captures the drama that the water presents on these two pivotal holes.  The painting is part of a series entitled, “Landscapes of Golf, An Artist’s Impression.” Limited edition signed giclee prints of the painting are available through St. Andrews Golf Art.

Manocchia also created a major painting for the PGA TOUR that depicts the 18th hole at TPC Sawgrass with the spectacular clubhouse in the background.  The work is on display in the clubhouse’s Champions Room.

Manocchia began his career as a photo-journalist and traveled the world covering news events, with many of his assignments at the White House.  In 1984, he started painting and quickly received the attention of collectors and art critics worldwide.

Many of Manocchia’s early works were mesmerizing landscapes.  In 1992, he was introduced to golf when the United States Golf Association commissioned him to paint a series of oils of famous courses.  His first two efforts depicted the famous 8th hole at Pebble Beach and The Honors Course in Tennessee.  The two images were issued as prints and were sold to raise funds for the USGA/Audubon Cooperative Sanctuary Program.  Manocchia resides with his family in upstate New York in the picturesque and art rich community of Cambridge.
