TopGolf and the MAPGA are expecting more than 500 people to attend the event within the four hour time frame.
This event and other “Welcome to Golf” experiences hosted by the Middle Atlantic PGA are part of the PGA of America’s initiative to grow the game of golf. Currently, nearly 26 million people across the U.S. are golfers and the goal of the golf industry is to raise that number to 40 million by the year 2020. Through a strategic plan called Golf 2.0 The PGA of America as well as the LPGA, the PGA Tour, U.S. Golf Association, and many other golf organizations have teamed-up to retain current golfers, engage lapsed golfers and welcome new golfers.
The MAPGA is also a supporting partner of the Play Golf America Day at East Potomac Golf Course in Washington D.C. which will take place May 18 from 11 a.m.-3 p.m. This is a free event where attendees will receive golf lessons, a welcome gift, enter to win drawing prizes, take a chance in the closest to the hole contest and much more.
