President George W. Bush to Headline Celebration of The First Tee Greater Philadelphia

Tickets and sponsorships now available for once-in-a-lifetime event to be held on the eve of U.S. Open final round at Merion Golf Club

(Philadelphia, Pa.) - President George W. Bush will be among the prominent guests scheduled to attend an evening honoring The First Tee Greater Philadelphia. The event is June 15, 2013, at the ACE Conference Center in Lafayette Hill, Pennsylvania.

The celebration coincides with the playing of the U.S. Open Championship at nearby Merion Golf Club. This is the first time the Open has been in the Philadelphia area since 1981.

President Bush will be interviewed by ESPN/ABC Commentator Mike Tirico. Also, joining in the celebration will be PGA Tour Commissioner Tim Finchem, The First Tee CEO Joe Louis Barrow, and a host of other notables from the worlds of business, politics, and sports.

The First Tee is a youth development initiative whose mission is to impact the lives of young people by providing learning facilities and educational programs that build character, instill life-enhancing values, and promote healthy choices through golf. The curriculum incorporates nine core values connected to the game: honesty, integrity, sportsmanship, respect, confidence, responsibility, perseverance, courtesy, and judgment.

The First Tee Greater Philadelphia, which is marking 10 years of working with young people, reaches more than 8,000 children annually.

Tickets for the evening are now available at $1,000 per person and tables of ten sell for $10,000. Three levels of corporate sponsorship are being offered for what promises to be a memorable event and special 10th anniversary year.
