Ashworth Golf Staffer Michael Thompson Wins The Honda Classic

Thompson’s Strong Finish Gives him 1st Career PGA Tour Title and 1st Win for Ashworth in 2013

(CARLSBAD, Calif.) – Ashworth Golf Staff Professional Michael Thompson captured his first career PGA Tour win Sunday after turning in a final-round 69 at The Honda Classic. Playing determined on a breezy, cool afternoon at PGA National, Thompson birdied the par-5 finishing hole to secure his spot in the winner’s circle at 9-under and win by two strokes.

The victory over an elite field moves Thompson to 11th in FedExCup standings and makes him the second first-time winner this year.
