Henry Captures Reno-Tahoe Open, while Kohles Wins Second Straight as Professional
(Fairhaven, MA) - J.J. Henry ran his Titleist Pro V1 golf ball in for four birdies Sunday to win the Reno-Tahoe Open and lead a three-win week for Titleist players. With the wins this weekend, Titleist Pro V1 and Pro V1x players have now combined to win 105 times this season across the worldwide professional tours, more than eight times the nearest competitor with 12. A total of 12,995 players have teed up Titleist golf balls in those same events, more than six times the nearest competitor with 2,075.
Using the modified Stableford scoring system, it was a rare week on the PGA Tour where posting a big number was the goal at the end of the day. In this format, players receive eight points for double eagle, five for eagle, two for birdie and zero for par. Players are also docked a point for bogey and three points for anything worse. There is certainly a premium on eagles and birdies and Henry took full advantage, tallying three eagles, 17 birdies and 46 pars en route to a 43-point total for the event.
Titleist was also the choice of six players in the Top 10 including tee-through-green Titleist Brand Ambassadors Brendan Steele and Tom Pernice Jr., as well as Pro V1x golf ball loyalists John Mallinger, Josh Teater and Todd Hamilton.
Titleist was the top choice of more players in the Reno-Tahoe Open field of 131 in the golf ball category with 87, more than six times the nearest competitor with 14. Titleist was also the field favorite in the iron (30), wedge (105) and putter (54) categories. In addition, a total of 27 players relied upon Titleist drivers at the event, including a combined 18 new 913D3 (13) and 913D2 (5) models.
At the Web.com Tour’s Cox Classic, Titleist Brand Ambassador Ben Kohles posted a bogey-free final round 9-under-par 62 to become the first player in Tour history to earn a victory in each of his first two professional starts. Kohles, the newest young gun on the Titleist Tour staff, relies upon the Pro V1x golf ball and full bag of Titleist equipment, and was the first player to win in the U.S. with the new 913D3 driver a week earlier, the first time he put the prototype in play.

Titleist was the top choice of more players in the Cox Classic field of 156 in the golf ball category with 109, more than six times the nearest competitor with 16. Titleist was also the field favorite in the iron (48), wedge (168) and putter (59) categories.
"I think I played the best round of my life today,” said Kohles following the victory in which he hit 17 of 18 greens in regulation. “That was a blast. I'm pretty shocked myself. What are you supposed to do better than this? I don't think that part has sunk in yet. It's pretty life altering."
A total of 36 players relied upon Titleist drivers at the event, including a combined 25 who chose the new 913D3 (18) and 913D2 (7) models.
CHAMPIONS: Pro V1 loyalist Bernhard Langer overcame a six-stroke deficit by firing a final round 10-under par 62 to win the 3M Championship for the second time in four years. Langer recorded a 17-under par 198 total, two shots clear of runner-up Pro V1x loyalist David Peoples, who posted the best finish of his Champions Tour career.
Titleist was the top choice of more players in the 3M Championship field of 81 in the golf ball category with 56, over five times the nearest competitor with 10. Titleist was also the field favorite in the iron (20) and wedge (66) categories.
WORLD GOLF CHAMPIONSHIPS: Titleist Brand Ambassador Steve Stricker (Pro V1x, 913D3 prototype driver, 910Fd fairway metal, 909H hybrid, AP2 irons, Vokey Design Spin Milled sand and lob wedges), closed with a 64 that included birdies on the final three holes to finish in a tie for 2nd, one shot behind the winner of the WGC- Bridgestone Invitational.
Pro V1x loyalist Louis Oosthuizen finished solo fourth, another shot back, while Titleist Brand Ambassador Rory McIlroy (Pro V1x, 913D3 prototype driver, 906F2 fairway metal, 910F fairway metal, MB irons, Vokey Design SM4 pitching, sand and lob wedges, Scotty Cameron GSS putter) tied for 5th. He was followed by fellow Titleist Brand Ambassador Jason Dufner (Pro V1, 910D2 driver, 910F fairway metal, 906F2 fairway metal, AP2 irons, Vokey Design SM4 sand and lob wedges, Scotty Cameron prototype putter) in solo 7th.
Pro V1x loyalists Luke Donald, Aaron Baddeley and Lee Slattery, along with Pro V1 loyalists K.J. Choi and Bo Van Pelt were among eight players who tied for 8th, as 10 of the 15 players who finished among the top 10 and ties relied upon Titleist golf balls for their success.
Titleist was the top choice of more players in the WGC-Bridgestone Invitational field of 78 in the golf ball category with 46, more than four times the nearest competitor with 11. Titleist was also the field favorite in the iron (22) and wedge (78) categories.
A total of 20 players relied upon Titleist drivers at the event, including a combined 12 prototype 913D3 (8) and 913D2 (4) models. Among the Titleist Brand Ambassadors putting the new 913 prototype drivers in play for the first time this week were Bill Haas (8.5), Marc Leishman (7.5) and Geoff Ogilvy (9.5), all of whom gamed the 913D2 model.
