Bradley Wins 2012 WGC - Bridgestone Invitational for Third PGA Tour Victory
(HUNTINGTON BEACH, CA) – Cleveland Golf/Srixon congratulates staffer Keegan Bradley for his victory over the weekend at the 2012 World Golf Championships - Bridgestone Invitational, held at Firestone Country Club’s South Course in Akron, Ohio.
Winning his first PGA TOUR title of 2012 and third of his career, Bradley carded a 6-under-par 64 Sunday to finish at 13-under-par 267 and collect the $1.4 million winner’s check. The 26-year-old was four shots off the lead heading into the final round, and found himself six shots back when the tournament leader opened with three straight birdies. But Bradley, the reigning PGA TOUR Rookie of the Year, kept pecking away at the lead, holing a 25-foot birdie putt on the seventh and then notching four more birdies on the back nine.
On the final hole, Bradley needed a seemingly improbable up-and-down from a plugged lie in a greenside bunker to win. He played his bunker shot to 15 feet and drained the putt, adding another dramatic moment and victory to his highlight-filled first two years on Tour.
“I just kept telling myself that this is the exact moment that I live for, that you play golf for, that you grow up your whole life, and I’m living it,” said Bradley. “It’s just an amazing feeling to be in that moment and just loving every second of it.”
Bradley played with a Cleveland Classic 290 driver (9.0°- Miyazaki Kusala Indigo 61X), a Cleveland Launcher Ultralite FL fairway wood (14°- Miyazaki Kusala Black 83X), a Cleveland Launcher DST hybrid (18°), a Cleveland Mashie Hybrid 3 (20.5°- Miyazaki C. Kua Hybrid 83X), Cleveland CG7 Tour irons (4-PW), Cleveland 588 Forged wedges (54°/ 58°) and a new Srixon Z-STAR prototype ball, while wearing a Srixon glove and carrying a Cleveland Golf bag.
For the week, Bradley led the field in birdies and tied for sixth in Driving Accuracy. The defending PGA Champion now moves into fourth place in the U.S. Ryder Cup team standings and seventh place in the FedEx Cup standings.
