(MONTREAL, PQ) Once again, Nivo leads the way in women’s golf apparel with its new and exciting 2010 Spring Collection.
“We celebrate the return of colour with Nivo 2010 in a fun, creative and care-free collection,” said Nivo designer Linda Di Genova, “ With the current economy, we wanted to offer something different for 2010; vibrant colours from sea blues to fiery red, from macaw green to a regal and flattering shade purple. And we have lots of prints; modern takes on argyle patterns, swirls, and even edgy graffiti-inspired prints. It’s fun, modern, and, well, Nivo!”
The complete 2010 Spring Collection includes polos, shorts, long sleeve sweaters, dresses, jackets, sleeveless polos, skorts, shorts, and skirts. And for 2010, Nivo introduces an exciting new technical material. Nivo’s Spring line of polos has been created utilizing liquid titanium fabric. Using magnetic titanium crystals, the new fabric helps block harmful UV rays, incorporates colours brilliantly, and may help stabilize the flow of bioelectrical currents.
“Traditionally Nivo has featured solid, darker colours in the classic style,” added Di Genova. “For 2010 we have added more colours with exciting new looks, like contrast piping, and pleats: classic pleats, kick pleats, and inverted box pleats in our skorts. Nivo really is fun, energetic, and exciting for the Spring.”
The complete Nivo Spring Collection will be on view at the PGA Fall Show Aug. 31 to Sept. 2 in Las Vegas, Nev., Booth 321.

Indian Spring Country Club Achieves Prominent Audubon Designation
(MARLTON, NJ) - Indian Spring Country Club has been designated a "Certified Audubon Cooperative Sanctuary" for its high standards protecting the environment and preserving the natural heritage of golf.
Managed by Billy Casper Golf, Indian Spring is only the 25th of 294 golf courses in New Jersey to achieve Audubon designation.
In addition to the Audubon certification, Indian Spring is enjoying a successful five-year run under BCG operation. This includes record-breaking customer-satisfaction survey ratings, rounds played and revenues. Key to these high watermarks is the pristine golf-course conditions in accordance with Billy Casper Golf standards and strict Audubon guidelines.
This summer also marks the installation of new, stone-based cart paths allowing water to percolate through. This required several bunkers being moved and green-complex changes. BCG donated architectural expertise to Evesham Township - owner of Indian Spring - for the project.
"Exceeding the expectations of loyal golfers is our top priority," says Mark Peterson, Golf Course Superintendent at Indian Spring. "Our agronomic team executes ecologically-friendly practices to make playing surfaces worth repeat visits."
"Led by Mark Peterson and John Lindros, the Indian Spring team is commended for its diligence protecting the natural habitat," says Peter Hill, Chairman and CEO of BCG. "Only about 770 courses worldwide have achieved this prestigious status; we're proud so many Billy Casper Golf properties are in this elite group."
More than 90 percent of the 111 BCG courses are enrolled in the Certified Audubon Cooperative Sanctuary program.
In attaining certification from the conservation group Audubon International, Indian Spring's 18-hole layout maintains sound environmental practices in six key areas: environmental planning, wildlife and habitat management, outreach and education, chemical use reduction, water conservation, and water quality management. An effective program results in a reduction of maintenance costs, including insurance premiums, energy, water, pesticides, fertilizer, equipment wear and labor.
Established in 1952, Indian Spring is a spectacular 18-hole, par-70, 6,328-yard public golf course on 141 acres in the heart of historic Evesham Township. An outstanding practice facility - featuring a lighted driving range with 40 hitting bays and an excellent short-game area - makes Indian Spring a popular learning venue. A spacious clubhouse, encircled by the course, allows for gorgeous views of the 18th hole and can comfortably fit up to 275 people for weddings and other social engagements.

Hawk's Landing Golf Club will participate in Patriot Golf Day
(ORLANDO, Fla.) - Hawk's Landing Golf Club at the Orlando World Center Marriott, located at 8701 World Center Drive in Orlando, will participate in the third annual Patriot Golf Day, a joint initiative of The PGA of America and the United States Golf Association. Golfers across the country and at Hawk's Landing have the unique opportunity to donate $1 or more to benefit the Folds of Honor Foundation (www.FoldsofHonor.org), which provides post-secondary educational scholarships to families of those who have become disabled or lost their lives in the line of duty. Hawk's Landing Golf Club will request at least an additional $1 for each green fee that is processed Sept. 4-7.
"This is a great way for the golf industry to help the families of those who have lost their lives or have been injured so that we may have our freedom," said Mike Hodgins, Director of Golf at Hawk's Landing. "This is also a fabulous opportunity for golfers in our community who have so much to be thankful for, to give back to those who have given everything and to provide some much needed assistance for the families who have made so many sacrifices for our country."
The inaugural Patriot Golf Day was held Sept. 1, 2007, and resulted in donations of more than $1.1 million from more than 3,200 golf facilities. In 2008, more than $2.1 million was raised at more than 3,800 golf facilities nationwide. In the last two years, more than 550 educational scholarships have been given through the Folds of Honor Foundation.
Patriot Golf Day was inspired by Major Dan Rooney, a PGA Professional and USGA member from Broken Arrow, Okla. Rooney has served three tours of duty in Iraq as an F-16 pilot in the 125th Fighter Squadron of the Oklahoma Air National Guard.
Individuals interested in contributing to the Folds of Honor Foundation, and those applying for scholarships should visit FoldsofHonor.org.

Pukka Headwear to Showcase New Headwear Collections at 2009 PGA Fall Merchandising Show in Las Vegas
(Findlay, Ohio) - Pukka Headwear, a designer and manufacturer of premium custom golf headwear, is set to unveil its latest collections at the 2009 PGA Fall Merchandising Show in Las Vegas. The collections in addition to Pukka's core product line can be seen at booth No. 115.
Show attendees will have the opportunity to see first hand Pukka's fashion-inspired headwear collections. On display will be the Pukka's Remix, Argyle, Ladies and Stretch Fit Collections. Each one focuses on a market segment that falls outside of the normal "core cotton" product. Anyone that knows the Pukka brand knows the name Pukka is synonymous with innovative designs which are influenced by its knowledge of the retail fashion industry. Innovative designs, unrivaled fit and comfort and overall program flexibility has fueled its success as Pukka Headwear quickly becomes the fastest growing custom headwear company in the golf industry.
"Our decision to develop and unveil different collections was ultimately driven by the success of our Remix Collection introduced earlier this year at the PGA Spring Show in Orlando. As it turns out, the timing was perfect as the demand for new, fresh and innovative products is being echoed throughout the industry as pro shops look for ways to drive merchandise sales. Ultimately the Remix Collection proved to be the incubator for much of what you see in the collections and will continue to be much of the inspiration for future development. Possibly the most significant discovery out of the Remix Collection was the popularity of Argyle as a décor option. Here is an iconic design that endures the test of time and building on its rich history and ever-lasting sense of style, some 60 years later we have introduced it on headwear. Early feedback has been extremely positive," explains Pukka President and CEO, Shawn Rogers.
For a sneak preview of Pukka's latest collections, visit their Web site at www.pukkaheadwear.com.
"The timing of the Fall PGA Show was perfect for the formal launch of the first round of our collections. Buyers are looking for end-of-season fill-ins and getting a jump start on product selection for their spring buys. We unveiled the collections to our sales force at our recent annual sales meeting and in the initial push they are having success. Products from these collections are already delivering," comments Pukka Director of Marketing, James Thompson.
Pukka Headwear is a designer, manufacturer and marketer of premium custom headwear products in the Golf, Collegiate and Team markets. Pukka stands for "original, first class, quality," which is displayed by unrivaled fit, superior materials and fashion-forward design. National Acts Heat Up the Showroom at Island Resort & Casino (Upper Peninsula)
(HARRIS, Michigan) – The Island Resort & Casino today announces a series of national acts – Chicago, Brad Garrett, Rodney Atkins and Dierks Bentley – scheduled to headline the Island Showroom, the Upper Peninsula’s hottest entertainment destination.
Chicago – with worldwide sales of more than 120 million records and a remarkable 50 hits domestically – is one of the most successful bands in rock history. The group’s No. 1 hits include: “Make Me Smile,” “Colour My World,” “Feelin' Stronger Every Day,” “If You Leave Me Now” and “You're the Inspiration.” Chicago plays Sept. 4 and 5; tickets are $52.
“The Island Resort & Casino continues to host some of the biggest names in show business,” says General Manager Tom McChesney. “While the facility is sufficient for the incredible energy generated by these acts, it is intimate enough to feel as if each performer is performing individually to our guests.”
The Island Showroom, situated immediately off the gaming floor, seats more than 1,300 guests with unobstructed views of the stage. Tickets for shows (all shows 8 p.m. EST) can be purchased at the casino or by phone with credit card at 877-ISL-SHOW or 906-466-2941, ext. 5001.
Actor/comedian Brad Garrett – well known for his Emmy-awarding winning role on Everybody Loves Raymond – takes the stage Sept. 18 and 19. Garrett’s act, performed only for mature audiences, has been cultivated from years on stage including stints on Star Search and the Tonight Show. Tickets are $30.
In October, country music takes center stage with Rodney Atkins (Oct. 2 and 3) and Dierks Bentley (Oct. 30-31). Atkins’ "It's America," became his fifth No. 1 on the charts in May while Bentley has had seven No. 1 singles since his debut album in 2003. Tickets for Atkins are $32, while Bentley’s show goes for $42.
Owned and operated by the Hannahville Band of the Potawatomi Nation, the Island Resort & Casino drew a great deal of attention last summer with the introduction of Sweetgrass Golf Club, designed by Paul Albanese.
Located in the unspoiled beauty of Michigan’s Upper Peninsula, the Island Resort & Casino and Sweetgrass Golf Club are easily accessible via a trio of airports in Escanaba, Marquette and Green Bay.

Pocono Mountains Visitors Bureau Reflects on 75 Years of Excellence
The Pocono Mountains Visitors Bureau – celebrating its 75th anniversary – honors its remarkable, diverse history with a Top 10 list of moments which have made northeastern Pennsylvania one of the nation’s most enjoyable vacation destinations.
• 1926 – The Pennsylvania Power and Light Company dammed a creek and built a hydro-electric plant, creating 5,600-acre lake with 52 miles of uninterrupted shoreline enjoyed today by boaters, fisherman and water sports aficionados.
• 1938 – Shawnee Inn and Golf Resort hosts the PGA Championship, where Paul Runyan upset the great Sam Snead. Shawnee is one of more than 30 golf courses throughout the Pocono Mountains which showcases legendary layouts by A.W. Tillinghast, Donald Ross, Robert Trent Jones Sr. and modern designs by Jack Nicklaus.
• 1945 – The Farm on the Hill became the first official honeymoon resort in the Pocono Mountains, which would later be named the “Honeymoon Capital of the World” by Life Magazine. “Pocono Love Potion” was introduced in 1972.
• 1946 – The Pocono Mountains embraced the opening of Big Boulder Ski Area, the first commercial ski area in Pennsylvania and the first to make snow. Today, nearly a dozen ski areas combine to provide more than 170 slopes and trails for downhill or cross-country skiing.
• 1967 – The Pocono Mountains’ Pike County is considered the birthplace of the American Conservation Movement as the county was home to Gifford Pinchot, an early conservation proponent and the first head of the U.S. Forest Service. Hickory Run’s Boulder Field, a National Natural Landmark is also located in the four-county region.
• 1974 – NASCAR holds its first race at Pocono Raceway and continues to host two events annually – the Pocono 500 and the Pennsylvania 500 each summer.
• 1975 – The first “Fall Foliage” was held in Carbon County. The PMVB now provides a 24-hour hotline with real-time updates on Mother Nature’s majestic color changes.
• 1989 – The PMVB hosted the Tour de Trump and again in 1991 as the Tour DuPont Race. Moreover, the town of Jim Thorpe is rated as one of the best mountain biking destinations in the United States.
• 2005 – The Pocono Mountains welcomed Great Wolf Lodge, the northeast’s largest indoor waterpark resort. This spurred the onset of planning for additional waterparks throughout the region.
• 2007 – The region's first casino, Mount Airy Casino Resort – featuring Vegas-like slot-machine gaming – provides another exciting tourism element within this year-round destination.
The four-season destination provides the ideal backdrop for corporate outings and meetings. If it’s an overnight stay, a weekend getaway or an extended vacation, people are increasingly discovering the convenience of the Pocono Mountains properties and value-laden stay-and-play packages.
Combined with the close proximity of New York City, Philadelphia and the Jersey Shore, the mountain getaway has only grown in popularity over recent seasons. People are choosing to stay closer to home rather than fight the rising travel costs and overcrowding at other destinations. Instead of checking extra luggage, boarding planes and waiting in lines, smart vacationers are making the short, scenic drive to the Pocono Mountains.

Golf Digest Ranks Circling Raven No. 17 Nationwide Among its ‘America’s 100 Greatest Public Courses Re-Ranked by Price’
Amenity of the Coeur d’Alene Tribe and its CDA Casino Resort Hotel in Worley, IdahoCombines Outstanding Quality, Design and Customer Service at a Great Value
(WORLEY, Idaho) – With a savvy nod toward the current economic times – which are influencing how often golfers play, where and at what price – Golf Digest magazine has re-ranked its most recent America’s 100 Greatest Public Courses biennial list (2009-10). Factoring in green fee prices at each member of the esteemed list, the nation’s best-value options at the Top 100 courses is the effective result (August 2009 issue).
Circling Raven ranks No. 17 in Golf Digest’s “America’s 100 Greatest Public Courses Re-Ranked By Price” list, thanks to peak green fees at $95 with GPS mounted cart and unlimited range balls at the 25-acre practice facility. The green fee drops even further for weekday and shoulder-season play which begins September 28 (Mon-Thurs $50).
The Gene Bates designed course – which is located an easy, scenic drive from Spokane Airport (GEG) – is ranked No. 61 on Golf Digest’s “America’s 100 Greatest Public Courses 2009-2010.”
Golf Digest's biennial rankings are determined by the magazine's course rating panelists, a group of several hundred low-handicap golfers who rate many thousand U.S. courses on a 10-point scale in various criteria.
“Re-ranking the top 100 public courses by price is an astute news decision by Golf Digest,” said Coeur d’Alene Casino Resort Hotel CEO David Lasarte-Meeks. “An objectively determined tool like this helps golfers enhance their experience and return on investment while spending less for more satisfaction.”
Circling Raven is listed on the elite list along with other heavyweight courses including Pebble Beach Golf Links, Pacific Dunes, Whistling Straits, The Ocean Course at Kiawah Island and Bethpage (Black Course).
Also on the list is Coeur d’Alene Resort Golf Course (No. 73 on the re-ranked list, No. 75 on Golf Digest’s 2009-10 top 100 U.S. public courses list), which is a beautiful 30-minute drive from Circling Raven. Both courses are on the Idaho Golf Trail’s Northern Loop and they offer value-laden stay-and-play packages, both individually and together.

Two Brauer-designed Tracks Named to Golfweek's '09 List of Bests
(ARLINGTON, Texas) - Two tracks designed by Arlington, Texas-based architect Jeffrey D. Brauer were recently named to Golfweek's list of Best Municipal Golf Courses for 2009, continuing a history of acclaim for Brauer and his work, especially on public, municipal and resort golf courses.
The Brauer-designed Sand Creek Station Golf Course (pictured), in Newton, Kansas near Wichita, is ranked No. 29 on the Golfweek list while Brauer's work at Tangle Ridge Golf Club in Grand Prairie, Texas (a suburb of Dallas and Fort Worth) claims the No. 44 spot.
"Given my background growing up as a public golfer, being able to provide great public golf experiences has been my goal for as long as I can recall," Brauer said. "I strive to give my clients and public golfers better golf courses than they expect, and I am happy when they enjoy the course. To have two courses recognized as among the best in the country is always an honor, for me, the city and the management of the course, since all contribute to the perception of quality."
Sand Creek Station opened in 2006 and immediately ascended to a spot as the second-best public course in the state in Golfweek's rankings behind only Colbert Hills in Manhattan - which was also designed by Brauer (in association with Champions Tour professional Jim Colbert).
Sand Creek Station was also voted by Golf Magazine as a "Top 10 New Courses You Can Play" for 2006 and in February 2009 was recognized by the National Golf Foundation as having the highest approval rating in 2008 in its Seventh-Annual Customer Loyalty Awards.
Sand Creek Station is a links-style, 18-hole municipal track and several unique features including an active railway running through the course, Sand Creek bordering four holes and eleven ponds. A wooden cart bridge spans Sand Creek and a concrete underpass allows carts to travel under the BNSF railroad tracks.
"We have recreated the famous Road Hole green on our 16th Hole, which once sat adjacent to a railway, and another replicates the famous "Redan" from North Berwick, Scotland," Brauer said. "Other holes have characteristics of early American holes, which also fronted railways at one time."
The 12th hole is similar to the fourth at the National Golf Links of America, one of the nation's early classics. The ninth features a small platform green, typical of early American courses, while the green on the par-5 fourth has some wild contours, the like of which are seldom built these days.
The par-72 course spans 7,357 yard from its back tees and incorporates the property's native grasses. The course is currently seeking to hold the national USGA Publinks championship and Brauer is now expanding the practice areas to host the competition. For more information, visit www.sandcreekgolfclub.com.
Tangle Ridge is nestled between Joe Pool Lake and the Mountain Creek Escarpment and has the feel of a Hill Country course with elevation changes of more than 50 feet, gently rolling hills and trees guarding every hole. The magnificent panoramic views differentiate the course from any other in the D-FW area.
Tangle Ridge's 250-acre track is bisected by a stream that runs east to west along the northern portion of the property. Approximately 60 acres of tangled natural vegetation remains as construction minimized the impact to existing wetlands. Players rarely see other holes while making their way through the layout.
Tangle Ridge - which plays to a par of 72 and at 6,835 yards from its back set of four tees - is a strategic course requiring the player to use every club and shot in his or her arsenal. The fairways are generous but poorly hit shots may find the native areas. The variety of grass and sand bunkers, creek crossings, dramatic mounding, berms, doglegs and tree-lined roughs provide plenty of challenges.
"At Tangle Ridge, we wanted the golfer to have a feeling of seclusion while enjoying a peaceful round getting away from urban stress," Brauer said.
Tangle Ridge opened in 1995 and has since been a constant on the State's "Best of" lists. The course was ranked No. 16 in Texas by the Dallas Morning News in 2007, as a Best of Texas by Texas Golfer in 2005 and a Top 10 by Avid Golfer in 2005. For more information on Tangle Ridge, go to www.tangleridge.com.

Launching in July 2008 as a site dedicated to providing valuable information for the traveling golfer, American Golfer took the next step by sharing new product information from the many equipment companies across the industry. Taking that one step further, the staff at American Golfer – comprised of golf/travel writers and club professionals – will now review equipment.
“Our thought was simple: If the average golfer was going to see our Web site and purchase the products we’re posting, we’d like to share our thoughts on the value and/or ability of the equipment,” says Senior Editor Bob Bruce. “We’ve got a collection of players at our disposal, from beginner to scratch, so we feel we can provide an invaluable, unbiased opinion on the gear that’s on the market.”
The expanded coverage will not result in less coverage for travel, according to Bruce. The American Golfer staff has increased with the hiring of veteran travel writer Trevor Hilliard and golf professional Ray Thompson. Several club professionals have made themselves and their facilities available for regular testing, as well, so the existing staff will not be stretched too thin.
American Golfer has scheduled its Holiday Gift Guide to kick off prior to Thanksgiving. Equipment companies are encouraged to provide products, information and images no later than Nov. 20. If multiple items are submitted, companies are asked to promote one item under $50 price point to offer an alternative to cost-conscious gift givers.

New Owners Plan Improvements for Double JJ Resort
(ROTHBURY, MI) - The new owners and operators of the Double JJ Resort are planning a number of improvements to ensure the future of this popular Western Michigan resort, a favorite for families and golfers, as well as a preferred location for corporate meetings.
Located near Rothbury, Mich., the historic property consists of three distinct resort areas. They include a dude ranch and riding stables, indoor and outdoor water parks, camping facilities, homes and condos, and an Arthur Hills-designed championship golf course, The Thoroughbred.
An investor group, Progressive Resorts LLC, of Michigan, purchased the bankrupt resort on June 30, 2009. Except for the original ranch portion that needs extensive renovations all the facilities are now open to the public. Double JJ is a convenient destination for visitors throughout the Midwest and Canada.
The new owner-operators are American Resort Management LLC, of Erie, Pa., an investor in the property, and Heritage Hospitality, LLC, of York, Pa.
"We became involved with this property when we were called in to evaluate the resort during the bankruptcy proceedings," explained Richard Coleman, senior vice president of operations and development for ARM. "We discovered what a unique place this is. It is different. You just don't have this kind of place anymore. We saw the potential."
Coleman said when the 1,100-acre property went into auction last December he told his colleagues they had to see it.
"We were there within two weeks and within two months (we) put together the money and made a bid," he said. Coleman estimates that Progressive Resorts paid $10.5 million for the property and assets, including the golf course which was purchased in a separate transaction. He stated that a multi-year capital improvement campaign will begin in 2010.
Double JJ first welcomed guests in 1937 as the Jack and Jill Ranch and operated continuously year around until last September 2008, when it was closed after Labor Day. It did not reopen until this July, just in time for the resort's second successful Rothbury Music Festival.
"They did take good care of the assets so we got the golf course going right away. The rodeo, stables and the rest of the property came on line quickly. The indoor water park reopened August 7," Coleman said.
"We will finish the summer with everything in place right now. This fall we are planning special events, including autumn weekends. Then we have an ambitious winter program, which is a surprising time at Double JJ," Coleman said. "We offer the indoor water park, dogsled rides, tubing, skating and a full equestrian program. Next spring we hope to introduce geo-caching, a Segway® program and other new activities. We want to create a cruise-ship-on-land mentality."
The company is in negotiation with Madison House Inc., one of the top live production companies in North America, to continue the music festival and bring more such events to the area. An estimated crowd of over 35,000 fans attended this year's event July 2-5. There were 14,000 cars on site along with 500 RVs.
Progressive also plans to further expand the many real estate opportunities at Double JJ. The real estate office is offering sales of fractional ownerships for the popular family cabins, as well as condos and high-end home sites. Future capital improvements include the construction of a conference center in the next 12-16 months and the possible development of a parcel of land in back of the golf course into an exclusive area featuring pro sports celebrities and extreme sports.
There are also plans to make the entire resort as energy-efficient as possible, with a low carbon footprint as guests will park their cars and get around by foot, bicycle, or golf cart.
"We plan to cut many more trails and paths through the property to make this possible," Coleman said. "Ultimately, we hope to use it as a model for others in the world to come and see."
The energy saving effort will be directed by an investor, Tom Kiser, a specialist in energy efficiency.
"We believe that the future of travel is fun and authentic family experiences," Coleman said. "Here you can go from shooting a bow and arrow in the morning to a great steak dinner in the evening. You could never afford to build this again. We were in love, so we chased our hearts."

Eidolon Golf Going Prome Time with New Wedges
EIDOLON Golf is going "Prime'' time. The short-game solution company is introducing its new “PRIME'' finished wedges that feature EIDOLON Golf's patented V-SOLE technology and other qualities that have helped the company become recognized as the leader in custom built wedges.
"These are the same soft carbon steel, the same patented V-SOLE, the same meticulous CNC-milled faces and grooves, but instead of our nickel chrome plating, these are given a hot oil bath and left natural,'' says EIDOLON Golf President/Founder Terry Koehler. "Golfers of all skill levels are really going to like the way the PRIME wedges look and feel. It's just another example of what separates EIDOLON Golf from other wedge companies.''
Koehler explained that the bronze patina a PRIME wedge has when it is new will wear off, and the head will begin to rust.
"After a time, it will have a very natural look that is totally non-glare,'' Koehler said. "And owning these will define you as a player with discriminating taste in wedges.''
The PRIME wedges are available now in limited “pre-production” quantities and are available in lofts of 52, 56 and 60 degrees. The carry a Suggested Retail price of $139 each, with discounted prices for purchasing matched pairs and full sets.
Though still a small company, EIDOLON has staked out a niche with its V-SOLE wedges. Under the direction of Koehler, a 30-year industry veteran, EIDOLON Golf continues to carve out a reputation for extraordinary wedges, custom-built to each individual order. Koehler, who writes a popular blog as thewedgeguy.com, is formerly Director of Marketing for Ben Hogan, founder of Reid Lockhart Golf and President of Reid Lockhart/Ray Cook.
EIDOLON Golf’s innovative approach to wedges is built around the company’s patented V-SOLE technology, which20combines the advantages of low and high bounce into each wedge loft. Golfers no longer have to make a choice in the store that may not work with all shots on the course. EIDOLON’s V-SOLE wedges also feature CNC-milled faces and grooves for extraordinary spin and premium Rifle Spinner and SCoR graphite shafts. The company even includes a copy of its popular book, “The SCoR Method” with each wedge order to help its customers refine their short games.
EIDOLON Golf backs its wedges with the boldest Satisfaction Guarantee in the industry. Learn more at www.EidolonGolf.com.

Longaberger Golf Club Celebrates 10th Anniversary
(NASHPORT, Ohio) – Longaberger Golf Club – honored by Golf Digest, GolfWorld, Golfweek and GOLF Magazine as one of the best courses in the country – today announces value-laden offers in conjunction with its 10th anniversary.
Through September 10, golfers can enjoy 18 holes and a cart on the award-winning Arthur Hills design for only $59. While the normal rate of $99 has been heralded as a bargain for the quality of course available, the savings via the anniversary rate are substantial. The $59 offer is available all day Monday through Thursday and after 1 p.m. Friday through Sunday.
“This anniversary rate is in appreciation of the golfers who’ve played Longaberger Golf Club over the first 10 years along with our desire to introduce new players to the next 10,” says Joseph Livingood, Senior Vice President of Billy Casper Golf, which manages Longaberger Golf Club.
The celebratory savings don’t end after the 18th hole, however. Golf Shop merchandise will be 20 percent off to anyone taking advantage of the anniversary golf rate during the month long period. In addition, the Longaberger Golf Club restaurant will be offering a 6 oz. filet mignon dinner for the unbelievable price of $19.99.
A pair of one-day events also commemorates the anniversary. A BBQ cookout will take place August 21 from 5 to 8 p.m. for only $19.99. The cookout is open to the public, as you do not have to golf to enjoy this special one-day offer. Longaberger Golf Club also will host a best-ball tournament September 17. For $99 per player, golfers receive 18 holes with cart, a commemorative 2009 Longaberger Golf Club towel, rib-eye dinner and 20 percent off Golf Shop merchandise. Other great prizes are included.
Longaberger Golf Club has racked up an impressive list of accolades, including being named the country’s No. 4 course overall in GolfWorld magazine’s inaugural “Readers’ Choice Rankings” in the category “Top 50 Public Courses.” Longaberger Golf Club also ranks No. 57 in the United States (out of roughly 13,500 public-access courses) in GOLF Magazine’s 2008 “Top 100 Courses You Can Play” list and Ohio’s No. 1 course in Golfweek Magazine’s “America’s Best Courses You Can Play 2009” rankings.
Longaberger Golf Club winds through the rolling hills of central Ohio and panoramic sightlines highlight the immaculate playing conditions. With five sets of tees, the 7,243-yard layout challenges the lowest handicapper, while shrinking to manageable distance to accommodate each and every skill level. A 25-acre natural grass driving range and practice facility, with target greens and a chipping, pitching and bunker area, ensures golfers of any skill level can hone their games in a secluded, finely-appointed setting.
The club, which is at the hub of a vibrant, greater-Columbus area golf destination, offers value-laden stay-and-play packages that make extended trips and weekend getaways extremely affordable. Golfers can stay at Longaberger’s hotel – The Place Off The Square – and play Longaberger Golf Club for substantially reduced rates.

The Territory Marks Impressive Growth Despite Economy
Oklahoma’s Premier Golf and Residential Community Adds Members Looking for Top-of-the-Bell-Curve Amenities, Family-friendly Amenities
(Southwest Oklahoma) – The Territory Golf and Country Club, an award-winning residential community just outside the town of Duncan, continues impressive membership growth despite the troubled economy.
While other clubs have seen sharp declines in numbers over the last year, The Territory has actually seen an increase of more than 15 percent. A large part of the credit goes to the club’s interest-free financing option, but an equal amount can be attributed to the club’s focus on family-friendly amenities.
“We’ve found that many of our new members are coming to us because of the financial flexibility of our interest-free financing option,” says Rick Braught, who along with his wife Barbara, owns The Territory. “At the same time, they, as well as our existing members, see the many family activities available as added value at a time when discretionary spending is down.”
The interest-free financing allows prospects to become a full golf member and take up to eight years to pay off their membership deposit – all with no interest being charged. The limited-time offer allows for flexible payment schedules to be arranged.
The Territory’s family-focus is evident in activities like its Flick ‘n Float – a “dive-in movie” at the pool shown on a large, inflatable movie screen, and Family Game Nights that include fun challenges on the sport court and in the pool.
The Territory recently expanded its popular stay-and-play packages, as well. The luxurious, graciously appointed accommodations feature two-to-four spacious bedrooms, a living room, full kitchen and baths. Package pricing per person is:
• Single: $275 per night
• Double: $225 per night
• Triple: $195 per night
• Foursome: $175 per night
Designed by Randy Heckenkemper, The Territory is a modified target-style layout. In addition to being named a Top 50 Residential Course by Golfweek, the layout also has been designated as one of Oklahoma’s best courses by Golf Digest. The course features multiple tees to accommodate any skill level and boasts a state-of-the-art practice facility and three-hole short course where the teaching professionals conduct instruction for those looking to improve their game.

Bonfit America, Inc. has an extensive network of distribution. The highly successful and popular Brush-T is being sold to online dealers, traditional retailers, on and off course pro shops, leading sporting goods stores, big box and specialty stores. The saturation of retail penetration of the Brush-T helped Bonfit develop their massive retail channels.
GolfGym has enjoyed a retail presence both in the United States as well as internationally. However, the company partnered with Bonfit to utilize their immense retail relationships and grow the business. According to GolfGym President Ken Pierce, "The 2009/2010 GolfGym strategy was to expand the overall business. Critical steps were made to accomplish this. GolfGym aligned itself with one of the elite strength, conditioning and biomechanics coaches on the PGA Tour, Coach Joey D. They repackaged the entire line specifically for retail with the focus on Joey D and have now entered into a distribution agreement that will ensure global expansion".
"Pauk Krok, J. Michael Wuestemann, and the Bonfit staff are enthusiastic about the GolfGym fitness products. We're confident their shared passion, expertise, and experience will prove to be a vital component in the company's success," added Pierce.
For over 20 years, GolfGym has been the leader in golf fitness, helping average to professional golfers prepare their bodies for the rigorous requirements of the game of golf and the golf swing. Today, the fitness trailers on the PGA, Champions, and Nationwide Tours are stocked with the complete line of GolfGym products. Professionals from all three tours use GolfGym products before and after they play golf.
All GolfGym products include an instructional DVD featuring personal coaching and techniques from Coach Joey D who is a pre-eminent biomechanics PGA coach. Joey D is best known for coaching Vijay Singh during a seven year period that was highlighted when Vijay became #1 in the world. This influential coach shares with the GolfGym purchaser the same exercises as he employs with the professionals on Tour. Kaua‘i Honored as Hawai‘i’s No. 1 Island and Fourth-Best Worldwide by Travel + Leisure
(Kaua‘i, Hawai‘i) – The Kaua‘i Visitors Bureau today announces that Travel + Leisure magazine has named Kaua‘i the fourth-best island in the world and island-rich Hawai‘i’s No. 1 island.
Announced Friday in customary fashion on the “Today Show”, these distinctions for Kaua‘i were garnered via a numerical rating system which tabulates feedback from Travel + Leisure readers.
Survey respondents judged islands on five characteristics: natural attractions, activities/sights, restaurants/food, people and value.
One of Kaua‘i’s highly acclaimed activity options is its golf, which includes a coalition of golf clubs and affiliated resorts, virtually all of which are rated among the best in their category. They combine to offer visitors a wealth of holes, diverse beauty, terrain and design styles featuring everything from tropical golf brilliance to layouts overlooking the Pacific Ocean from cliffs caressed by trade winds.
“Kaua‘i is honored by this award as it comes from travelers, people who have many choices but opt to spend their precious time and resources based on their experiences,” says Sue Kanoho, Executive Director of the Kaua‘i Visitors Bureau. “Visitors are increasingly recognizing our golf experiences which is appropriately reflected in our promise ‘Kaua‘i: Discover Golf’s Ultimate Island Green’ ”.
