David Duval, Retief Goosen and Mark Calcavecchia set to tee off at 2022 Mitsubishi Electric Classic

Scott McCarron and John Daly also slated to appear

(ATLANTA) — Five winners of the former BellSouth Classic, which was played at TPC Sugarloaf from 1997 to 2008, will compete against a stacked field of 78 professionals when Georgia’s only PGA TOUR Champions event, the Mitsubishi Electric Classic, returns May 2-8.

The returning victors – David Duval, Retief Goosen, Mark Calcavecchia, Scott McCarron, and John Daly – and their competitors will all vie for a $1.8 million prize purse and the chance to move atop the Charles Schwab Cup rankings.

“The addition of these champions to an already illustrious list of golfers stands to make this PGA TOUR Champions event one of the most exciting events of the year,” says Ashley Hamilton, tournament director. “This quintet of BellSouth Classic winners is part of this course and Gwinnett County’s rich golf tradition, and we’re excited to welcome them back to TPC Sugarloaf this May.”

The past BellSouth Classic champions include:

David Duval, who earned All-America honors four times at Georgia Tech and made his PGA TOUR Champions debut at the Mitsubishi Electric Classic at Hualalai this past January. Duval won the BellSouth Classic in 1999, the same year he became only the third golfer in PGA TOUR history to score a 59 during a TOUR event. The former world No. 1 won 13 times on the PGA TOUR between 1997 and 2001, including the 2001 Open Championship and 1999 THE PLAYERS Championship.

Retief Goosen, who counts the 2002 BellSouth Classic among his seven PGA TOUR victories. His consistency on the TOUR launched him into the top-10 world rankings for more than 250 weeks (totalling nearly five years) between 2001 and 2007. Goosen is off to a hot start to his PGA TOUR Champions season, having already notched three top-10 finishes and a win at the Hoag Classic earlier this month. His other PGA TOUR Champions victory occurred at the 2019 Bridgestone SENIOR PLAYERS Championship.

Mark Calcavecchia, who has established himself as one of the more consistent players on the PGA TOUR Champions circuit, having recorded four victories, 12 top-three finishes, and 51 top-10 placements. During his storied PGA TOUR career, he notched 13 victories, including the 1995 BellSouth Classic and the 1999 Open Championship. In 2009, Calcavecchia set a PGA TOUR record by netting nine consecutive birdies during his second round at the RBC Canadian Open.

Scott McCarron, who earned his third career victory at TPC Sugarloaf with a two-shot, wire-to-wire victory at the 2019 Mitsubishi Electric Classic. He garnered his two other wins there during the PGA TOUR’s BellSouth Classic in 1997 and 2001. McCarron currently has 11 PGA TOUR Champions victories and 57 top-10 finishes. Additionally, he topped the 2019 Charles Schwab Cup rankings.

John Daly, whose powerful swing and colorful personality made him one of the most well-known players on the PGA TOUR. He won five times during his career there, including the 1994 BellSouth Classic, the 1991 PGA Championship and the 1995 Open Championship. Daly has won professional golf events throughout the world, including tournaments in South Africa, Swaziland, Scotland, Germany, South Korea, Turkey, and Canada. In 1997, he became the first PGA TOUR player to average more than 300 yards per drive over a full season – and repeated the feat every year from 1999 to 2008. He joined the PGA TOUR Champions circuit in 2016 and recorded his first tour victory at the Insperity Invitational the following year.

The full field of competitors will be released in the coming weeks.

Will Tiger Play the Masters? Bet on It!

(WAGER)
— Tiger Woods played a practice round at Augusta National, but there's been no confirmation that he will compete at next week's Masters.

What seemed like a longshot following the car crash that paused Tiger's playing career, the odds now support Woods teeing it up at the hallowed grounds where he's donned the Green Jacket five times.

Odds are courtesy of SportsBetting.ag: https://www.sportsbetting.ag/sportsbook/futures-and-props/golf---props

Will Tiger Woods compete in The Masters?

Yes -250

No +200

These odds indicate a 71.43% probability that Woods will tee off in Round 1 next Thursday.

It's worth noting that the 'Yes' odds opened at -400 so early wagers have been on the 'No' option.

Woods currently has 50-1 odds at the 2022 Masters Tournament. But oddsmakers say the true odds should really be 75-1, or higher.

Currently, 12.8% of the handle at SportsBetting.ag is on Woods, which is easily the highest percentage of any player.

And if Woods confirms he is playing, the sportsbook said that they expect an influx of wagers on him, which will definitely lower his odds.

New Western Golf Association Partnership to Support Professional Development for Caddies

(RELEASE)
— The Western Golf Association’s (WGA) acclaimed Evans Scholars Foundation (ESF) has established a formal partnership with Plante Moran, one of the largest public accounting and business advisory firms in the nation, as part of the continued efforts to support Evans Scholars through the Career Services Program.

Both companies are working together to provide personalized career counsel and a continuum of support to Evans Scholars along their journey from caddie, to college, to career.

The partnership that was formalized in January of 2022 includes the opportunity for Evans Scholars to engage with Plante Moran leaders through virtual and in-person workshops as well as career training, networking sessions and mentoring.

“We are thrilled to be strengthening our relationship with Plante Moran to help our Evans Scholars and young Alumni across the country,” said John Kaczkowski, WGA/ESF President and CEO. “As we build our Career Services Program and offer our Scholars more professional resources, Plante Moran is joining with us to ensure our students are fully prepared to enter the workforce.”

The relationship between Plante Moran and the Evans Scholars Foundation has grown over the years with Plante Moran providing career opportunities for Evans Scholars after they have graduated from college. Among the current Plante Moran leaders are Evans Scholars Alumni Jason Drake (MSU ’00), group managing partner, and Ted Morgan (MSU ’99), management consulting partner.

“Plante Moran and the Evans Scholars Foundation have a long history of making a positive impact on the lives of young people with a mutual commitment to providing opportunities for professional development,” said Jason Drake. “As Ted and I learned in the caddie yard and through the Scholarship House, the power of the Evans Scholars community is second to none.”

When the WGA/ESF’s long-range plan was unveiled in 2020, one of the eight ambitious goals set for 2030 is preparing 100% of Evans Scholars graduates for the next leg of their journey. The dedication of leaders from WGA/ESF and Plante Moran ensures that the pursuit of this goal can be realized.

“The life-long skills that are developed through caddying - combined with the focus of Plante Moran to nurture and grow leaders from all backgrounds - make this partnership a perfect fit,” said Ted Morgan. “Communication, work ethic, collaboration and problem-solving are all essential to the success of both the Evans Scholars Program and Plante Moran.”

Golf Pride Continues to Innovate with New CPX, the Softest Performance Grip Yet

Increased softness and tackiness of rubber compound complement proprietary design for more traction, enhanced comfort and better performance

(PINEHURST, N.C.) — Golf Pride, an industry leader in innovation and sports performance equipment, announced today the introduction of CPX, the company’s softest performance grip yet. The new CPX — standing for “Comfort Performance Extreme” — provides superior feel through a combination of extreme softness and exceptional new technology, including the company’s first-ever raised, EXO diamond-quilted pattern. For players who seek the confidence that comes from the feel of a high-performance, comfortable grip, the CPX is a game changer.

“The connection between the hands and mind is critical in the game of golf,” said Jamie Ledford, President of Golf Pride. “We’re so excited about CPX because the new design and ultra-soft rubber compound we’ve developed take this connection to the next level. Anyone who tries the CPX will immediately feel the difference.”

The new CPX — the first grip completely concepted and developed at Golf Pride’s new Global Innovation Center in Pinehurst, NC — is constructed from a very soft and responsive rubber compound that molds to the golfer’s hands for the ultimate in comfort and stress relief. The soft and tacky material features a 45-degree diamond pattern inspired by the grips on BMX bikes. This new tactile design is raised to maximize contact-area with the golfer’s hands, enhancing performance. In addition, the innovative Control Core® in the grip’s end-cap complements the soft rubber compound to afford the best of both worlds: maximum softness and maximum control.

A Soft Grip for a Hard Game

With the introduction of CPX, Golf Pride is also unveiling a second new “feel.” The brand’s latest campaign - “A Soft Grip for a Hard Game” - is an intentional departure from the golf category’s historical focus on performance claims and product specs in marketing materials. Confidence through comfort is integral to reach the most optimal performance in the golfer’s game.  “A Soft Grip for a Hard Game” is aimed at players of all types from highly competitive golfers to weekend warriors and all those in between.

“We know that golfers of every caliber quest for the ‘right feel’ when they have a club in their hands,” said Eric Gibson, Global Head of Marketing, Golf Pride. “The new CPX, and the marketing campaign behind it, focuses on exactly that. Golf is hard. There’s a lot to think about. We believe that the right grip can create comfort – for your hands and your mind – regardless of your skill level. We are excited to lean more into this approach in our messaging and feel it reflects the positive change and growth that golf is experiencing.”

The new CPX will be available on golfpride.com and at retailers on 4/1/22, and will carry a retail price of $9.49-10.49 per grip. To learn more, go to www.golfpride.com/cpx.

Tom Weiskopf-Designed Black Desert Resort Golf Course to Open Fall 2022

(Scottsdale, Ariz.)
– The new Tom Weiskopf-designed Black Desert Resort Golf Course will open this fall in Ivins, Utah, a suburb of St. George. Set amid ancient black lava fields, the 18-hole resort/daily-fee facility is currently in the final phase of construction, with grassing underway. Troon, the leader in providing golf and club-related leisure and hospitality services, will manage the golf operations, golf course agronomy, food and beverage, and marketing for the golf facility, the centerpiece of the 600-acre resort community. Tee times for daily-fee guests will begin to be made available by mid-summer 2022.

Weiskopf, the designer/co-designer of 70-plus courses around the world, and architect Phil Smith have designed the par-72 Black Desert Resort Golf Course with playability in mind, with most fairways 70 to 100 yards wide. The property’s distinct black lava rock, called basalt, originated as lava that intermittently flowed from small local volcanoes approximately 2.3 million to 20,000 years ago. No stranger to working in an ancient lava landscape, Weiskopf also designed the award-winning Ke‘olu Golf Course at Hualalai Resort on the island of Hawaii, which is set in the dramatic lava fields of Ka’upulehu.

“Black Desert Resort is located at the convergence of three unique landscapes – jet-black lava beds, towering red rock cliffs of Zion National Park, and Utah’s beautiful Mohave Desert,” said Jared Lucero, Reef Capital CEO. “The emerald fairways and greens laced among the lava fields are set against the red rock backdrop, making for an awe-inspiring golf setting.”

In true Weiskopf-style, Black Desert will feature two drivable par 4 holes (5th hole and 14th hole) bringing both strategy and the risk/reward element into play.

“This 19-hole course at Black Desert is a rewarding course. Truly a spectacular place with many photographs taken. Great backdrops with the red mountains that remind me of Sedona (Arizona),” said Weiskopf.

In addition to the 18-hole, Weiskopf-designed golf course, guests of Black Desert will enjoy a 36-hole illuminated putting course for day or night play. The resort’s 19th-Hole, an amphitheater-style lakeside gathering place terraced into the black lava, will be the ultimate venue for winding down after a day of golf.

Reef Capital Partners is developing Black Desert Resort. Upon buildout, the property will offer 150 hotel rooms; 1,050 residences; miles of nearby trails; a wellness spa; and 46,160 square feet of retail and restaurant space. The property will also feature 32 single-family estate lots and approximately 214,000 square feet of commercial space, with the amenities of the resort center available for full-time residents. The golf course will serve as the home course for the Dixie State University golf teams.

Top-rated courses designed by Weiskopf include Double Eagle Golf Club in Galena, Ohio, the original Forest Dunes Golf Course in Roscommon, Mich., Loch Lomond Golf Club in Scotland, and both Troon North Golf Club and Troon Country Club in Scottsdale, Ariz.

Edison Golf Changes its Standard Graphite Shaft to the Newest KBS PGI Series Shaft

(ROCKPORT, TX)
— Edison Golf Company, maker of the revolutionary Edison Forged Wedges, is pleased to announce it has upgraded its standard graphite shaft from the current KBS TGI 80 in three flexes to a custom offering of the newest KBS PGI (Players Graphite Iron) Series shaft.

Three new shaft options are now available, offering Edison golfers the only progressive weight and flex choices in the wedge category. Available graphite shaft options now include the KBS PGI 80 in ‘A’ Flex, KBS PGI 90 in Regular Flex, and KBS PGI 100 in Stiff Flex. In steel, Edison offers the KBS Tour 110 in Regular flex and the KBS Tour 120 in Stiff flex.

“We believe there should be a seamless transition from the shafts in your irons to the shafts in your wedges,” said Edison Chairman and Director of Innovation Terry Koehler. “The only way to get that is by making sure the material, weight, and flex of the shafts are consistent from your short irons into your wedges. Working with the team at premium shaft maker KBS, Edison Forged wedges are the only ones available with a progressive weight and flex matrix, so we can fit any golfer perfectly.”

The KBS PGI Series graphite shafts were designed by noted shaft expert, KBS Director of R & D Kim Braley, to deliver steel-like control and performance in a progressively weighted graphite shaft series. These shafts provide tighter shot dispersion, more consistent trajectories, and extremely tight tolerances for weight and frequency (CPM).

The Edison Golf team worked closely with the team at KBS to develop proprietary tipping and trimming procedures to optimize wedge performance for golfers of any skill level, strength profile or swing speeds with all three options.

“With this offering, Edison Forged wedges will be the only wedge line offering a complete range of premium KBS shafts with progressive weight and flex characteristics,” added Koehler.

Edison Forged wedges are designed for serious recreational golfers and feature a dramatically different weighting design that puts more mass above the impact point to optimize distance consistency, trajectory control and improved spin. They also feature the patented and proven “Koehler sole”, which combines both a high and low bounce into each wedge for optimum versatility. Quality forged construction and Edison’s durable chrome finish combine to deliver exquisite feel while significantly extending the useful life of the wedges.

Koehler recommends that golfers interested in purchasing Edison Forged wedges take the WedgeFit Scoring Range Analysis on the Edison Golf website to find out which wedges will best suit their game. They can then enjoy a streamlined purchasing process that allows them to easily custom-build their wedges to their own specifications for loft, shaft, length, lie angle and grip preference. If there is a particular non-standard shaft that the golfer prefers, the company will build their Edison Forged wedges on those shafts for a reasonable upcharge.

Honma Golf Announces New T//World TW757 Collection

(CARLSBAD, CALIFORNIA)
– Honma Golf, the leader in beautifully crafted performance golf equipment is pleased to introduce the 2022 T//World 757 line of premium Drivers, Fairway Woods, Hybrids, and Irons.

Created in Honma’s renowned Sakata, Japan Design Studio, and paired with the hand-rolled VIZARD graphite shafts, the artfully designed TW757 line is set to make its way into the bags of Tour Professionals and aspiring players around the globe.

“We are extremely excited to get the long-awaited T//World 757 line in the hands of golfers across North America,” says COO of Honma North America, Janeann Lanning. “It’s a handsome product line loaded with performance-improving characteristics. The use of carbon in these two new driver models helps produce exceptional speed that’s going to catch a lot of people’s attention. And the three new iron models — built for mid to low handicappers — perform brilliantly in their respective categories.”

To learn more, visit https://us.honmagolf.com/collections/tworld.

DRIVERS

GOLF’S FIRST CARBON SLOT: The TW757 Driver features a new, patent-pending “Carbon Slot” to activate and optimize the performance of the lower half of the face at impact. By using a thinner layer of titanium, which is supported by a lighter and more responsive carbon insert, TW757 Drivers deliver higher launch conditions and lower spin to maximize distance, while yielding the highest initial ball speed in Honma Golf’s history.

Ti-CARBON FAST FRAME

Coupled with the Carbon Slot, the TW757’s Carbon Crown further increases discretionary weight savings, enabling low-deep CG placement in tandem with a Keel Sole design first used in the Honma GS line, and now enhanced in the new TW757’s high MOI 6-4 Titanium body.

Honma engineers also added two thick and long crown ribs to maintain rigidity around the clubface in conjunction with Honma’s unique, variable thickness, vertical groove clubface to transfer energy more efficiently at impact to maximize ball-speed. As an added benefit, the carbon elements of the TW757 also help to optimize the sound and feel preferred by better players around the world, a hallmark of Honma T//World products.

TWO DRIVERS FOR OPTIMAL BALL FLIGHT – D and S

The TW757 line is a custom fit dream, offering two distinctly different drivers, each specifically designed to cover a wide array of ball flight preferences. Both drivers come in 9° and 10.5° and are adjustable for loft (+/- 1°) and face-angle (+/- 1.5°) via Honma’s P-SAT Sleeve and torque wrench.

The modern 460CC D Driver has two weight-ports in the sole, one each in the back-heel and front-toe for “Directional Control.” Placing the 9gr. weight in the back-heel will create a higher launching draw-bias, and for players looking for a flatter and more fade-biased ball-flight, simply move the heavier 9gr. weight into the front-toe weight port.

The traditional pear-shaped 450CC S Driver also has two weight-ports strategically located in the front and back of the sole for “Spin and Stability.” Placing the heavier 9gr. weight to the rear of the head creates higher launch conditions and increased MOI, while moving the heavier weight forward, the additional mass behind the sweet-spot creates a flatter trajectory with lower spin for hot ball-flight.

Both D and S models come standard with 9gr. and 3gr. weights, however weights are also available in 6gr., 12gr. and 15gr.

P-SAT (Precision Spine Alignment Technology) Sleeve and Non-Rotational Hosel System

Proprietary to Honma, the P-SAT sleeve and hosel system allows Honma VIZARD shafts to keep the shaft’s spine, as well as shaft graphics and grip markings consistently aligned, while not sacrificing the ability to adjust the TW757 driver for both loft and face-angle to optimize ball-flight.

All graphite shafts naturally have a slightly harder side or “spine,” which is created during the manufacturing process; hence all shafts are not always created or perform equal.

As a result, all Vizard shafts are factory tested during the quality control process so that the spine can be isolated and correspondingly marked in the 6 o’clock position, which helps to mitigate downward shaft deflection through impact, leading to more consistent strike patterns.

Retail pricing for Honma’s new TW757 D and S drivers starts at $719 and varies based on customizations and shaft selection.

FAIRWAYS AND HYBRIDS

Classically styled with a player approved compact footprint, the TW757 fairway woods and hybrids provide everything the player demands, and nothing they don’t.

All models feature a sole slot for higher launch and added speed and are built with an SUS630 stainless steel body paired with a 455-carpenter steel face. These premium materials also support a new Vertical Slot Face Insert to more effectively manage both centered and mishit shots alike.

In the lower lofted models, the TW757 3-Wood features a carbon crown to save weight and to generate higher launch conditions. While a cup face insert design in the 3-Wood and #3 Utility also helps increase initial ball speed to help players get home in two.

Playable from a variety of lies, the TW757 Fairway Woods and Hybrids/Utilities are designed with progressive internal sole weighting to generate consistently long carry distances. As an added benefit, the Fairway Woods feature an adjustable sole weight to fine-tune swing weight.

Retail pricing for Honma’s new TW757 Fairways starts at $415 and varies based on customizations and shaft selection. TW757 Hybrids retail for $350 with custom shaft options available for a slight upcharge.

IRONS
: Three models of the tour driven TW757 irons meet the needs of the best players.

P Irons

The multi-material TW757P Player’s Distance irons are designed for players in pursuit of consistent distance and added control, while still demanding the look and feel of a traditional iron only Honma’s experienced Takumi (Master Craftsmen) can deliver.

Inlaid 12gr. Tungsten sole weights along with an undercut pocket cavity creates a low-and-deep CG in a relatively compact iron, which generates high trajectory in conjunction with a modern spec loft package.

The steel body also houses a 6gr. toe-weight to precisely center the sweet-spot, and a 2.2mm thin L-cup face insert generates consistently fast ball speed across the face for the better player looking for added distance with a measure of forgiveness. Honma’s new P irons retail for $1,272 (5–PW) in NS950 NEO steel shafts and $1,392 with Vizard TW757 graphite shafts.

Vx Irons

Forged from the softest premium S20C carbon steel, the TW757Vx Iron is a true players iron. The beautiful, tour-approved address profile in the one-piece cavity back forging features a 7gr. tungsten weight in the toe. Indian River Colony Club Donates $5,000 to Veterans Connections to a New Life

Donation Benefits Veterans in Transition

(VIERA, FL) — Indian River Colony Club in Viera is a 55+ golf community on a mission. Largely comprised of military veterans, IRCC members are known for their volunteerism and philanthropy. The ongoing practice of donating to an assortment of veterans causes and charities embody the community motto of "service to those who served." On March 21, the Indian River Colony Club Foundation presented a $5,000 check to Veterans Connections to a New Life, a Central Florida-based not-for-profit organization that provides free services to veterans. The funds donated to the 501(c)(3) organization follow a similar $5,000 donation from the IRCC Foundation in 2021 and will help ensure returning military veterans successfully transition back to civilian life after the completion of their service. Veterans Connections to a New Life uses certified life coaches and nationally certified, peer support specialists in their veteran outreach, specializing in post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD).

Founder of Veterans Connections to a New Life, Don Pearsall was pleased to accept the monetary assistance from Indian River Colony Club to benefit transitioning Brevard veterans.

“It's people like the patriots at IRCC that make it possible for us to provide the help that veterans need," said Pearsall. " Many of our warriors are leaving the service with no direction. Our main mission is to provide unique and personalized service support to our homeless, less fortunate and at-risk veterans who are struggling to transition back into civilian life.”

Don Pearsall, a twice-wounded Viet Nam combat veteran, founded Veterans Connections to a New Life in 2014, with a mission to help veterans transition to civilian life.  Veterans with immediate needs are given financial assistance for gas, repairs, utilities, clothing and housing, along with professional counseling and guidance to aid toward transition. Pearsall's book, “Back from the Front” addresses post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) as the primary cause of difficulty for veterans transitioning to civilian life. The book is available for sale on ConnectionstoaNewLife.com, with all proceeds going to support the nonprofit.

The Indian River Colony Club community of nearly 800 homes is a dedicated supporter of veterans causes. In 2019, they were presented with the Outstanding Military Service Award by Brevard County Sheriff Wayne Ivey, for their ongoing efforts on behalf of veterans.

Viera's very first neighborhood, Indian River Colony Club is known as "The Place Patriots Call Home."  A haven for military veterans, the par-72 private golf course community has a patriotic culture and country club amenities for active adults aged 55 and over. Residents have dedicated their lives to military service and continue their efforts in retirement, with a host of ongoing efforts for the betterment of Brevard County veterans and the regional military community.

In addition to significant contributions made by the community's charitable foundation, the 2019 Outstanding Military Service Award cited ongoing service and generosity toward veterans and military-related causes, including participation in and/or donations to veteran related organizations, including the Veterans Transitional Facility, Down the Road Thrift Shop, the Veterans Administration, the Cape Canaveral Ladies, the Cape Canaveral Cemetery, the USO (United Service Organizations), Honor Flight, Patrick Air Force Base, Veterans Treatment Court, Veterans Memorial Center, Wreaths Across America and more.

The Indian River Colony Club Foundation represents the generous donors of Indian river Colony Club, under the leadership of Foundation Board Chairman and retired U.S. Army Colonel, Jerry Gill and Military Services Organization Committee Chair, retired Air Force Lieutenant Colonel Brian Whalen. Skyhawks Sports Academy Boosts Golf Programming through Partnership with Payne Stewart Golf Experiences

(SPOKANE, Washington)
– The nation’s leading youth sports camp franchise, Skyhawks Sports Academy powered by Stack Sports, is excited to continue building its impressive sports programming by becoming the Official Youth Sports & Camp Partner of Payne Stewart Golf Experiences.

This five-year partnership establishes Skyhawks Beginning Golf, advancing the Spokane-based brand’s commitment to providing accessible, enjoyable, and positive golf instruction to young kids no matter their proximity to a golf course.

“Payne Stewart Kids Golf Experiences adds significant value to our Skyhawks Golf Camps through their programming and game-based curriculum developed specifically for younger kids,” said Jason Frazier, COO and President of Skyhawks. “The PSGE team has significant PGA experience and hopes to alleviate issues of accessibility, cost, and exclusivity by creating a new pathway for kids learning golf away from the golf course.”

Skyhawks Beginning Golf is powered by Payne Stewart Golf Experiences, the recommended entry-level golf program for PGA Junior Golf Camps. By improving curriculum and training for coaches, more kids will be able to build their confidence by learning golf both inside and outside.

“They have a well-established recreational sports footprint where we can add our Payne Stewart Kids Golf Experiences program and have an instant impact in getting more kids exposed to the fun side of golf,” said Kelly McCammon, Founder and CEO of the Payne Stewart Kids Golf Foundation. “Younger kids, especially from the age of four and up, have to first get exposed to golf in recreational settings away from the golf course and in local neighborhoods.  Our partnership will bring golf to the kids where they are.”

The unique, games-based play program and modified learning equipment make it easier for kids to hit the ball and experience early success. Putting, chipping, pitching, and full swing, are all taught through games, simple repetitive motions, and learning rhymes that make it easy for young kids to remember and repeat. Specially designed, age-appropriate golf equipment is provided.

This instruction and Skyhawks Beginning Golf programming will soon be implemented in locations throughout the United States. Local camp operators are currently preparing for the summer camp season, which experienced record nationwide participation in 2021.

Scottie Scheffler Wins WGC Dell Technologies Match Play

In just 42 days, Scheffler has gone from zero PGA TOUR wins to three and No. 1 in the OWGR - the shortest amount of days from first win to No. 1 ranking in OWGR history by 210 days.

(CARLSBAD, Calif.) – Scottie Scheffler’s remarkable run of golf continued Sunday winning the WGC-Dell Technologies Match Play 4 & 3 over Kevin Kisner in the final round, marking his third win on the PGA TOUR in his last five starts. Scheffler not only becomes the youngest player to win the WGC-Dell Technologies Match Play event, but will also vault to the No. 1 ranking in the World for the first time in his career. Sunday marks Scheffler's third win with his Stealth Plus 8.0° Carbonwood driver and P·7TW irons in the bag.

The Dallas, Texas native added his Stealth 3HL 3-wood to the bag during practice rounds this week and went on to win Group 5 in a playoff over Matt Fitzpatrick after both finished group play with a 2-1-0 record. Scheffler stayed poised in the knockout rounds at Austin Country Club beating Billy Horschel 1 UP in the Round of 16, Seamus Power 3 & 2 in the Quarterfinals and held off a furious rally from Team TaylorMade teammate Dustin Johnson winning 3 & 1 in the Semifinals.

In the final, Scheffler got out to an early lead getting to 3 UP through 6 holes after birdies on 2, 4 and 6, before eventually finishing the match on the 15th green with a par highlighted by a 365 yard drive with his Stealth Plus driver.

INSIDE THE WINNING FIT

Scheffler began testing his Stealth Plus driver at a preseason driver fitting session in Texas with TaylorMade Tour Representatives. With his current Stealth Plus 8.0°, Scheffler saw average ball speed gains of 3.4 MPH (177.4 MPH with Stealth Plus vs 174.0 with previous gamer) and carry gains of just over 11 yards in testing (305.8 with Stealth Plus vs 294.7 with previous gamer). After being dialed in to the right spec, he was able to continuously hit the desired shot shapes and shot types with the 60X Carbon Twist Face driver.

He hasn’t looked back since putting Stealth Plus in play at the American Express in January and has seen an average increase of 4+ MPH ball speed in tournament competition compared to his 2020-21 season average.

“During our initial driver fitting, we were working on the range into a pretty substantial wind. He was delivering some amazingly consistent golf shots,” TaylorMade Senior Tour Representative Adrian Rietveld said. “Without us being able to test on course, he turns up at his first event of the year with only one driver in his bag, which shows how confident he was with the club and the rest is history. The results are showing up in tournament play, and the stats confirm how much the added speed has helped him.” —Adrian Rietveld, TaylorMade Senior Tour Representative

The latest TaylorMade add to Scheffler’s bag came this week in Austin as he added his Stealth 3HL 3-wood to the bag on Wednesday after weeks of extensive testing. TaylorMade reps worked with Scheffler to identify the Stealth fairway model that would best match the launch characteristics of his previous gamer, which had a loft of 12.5°. In order to match those characteristics, TaylorMade reps build a Stealth 3HL with a finishing loft of 16° and a Ventus 8X shaft cut down an inch shorter.

“The benefits of the 16.5° head are that he can hit it much higher and farther if he wants to but also match previous conditions, which were lower and feature more spin. The 16.5° Stealth head is more of a weapon because of the added distance and height capability he can get when he wants it. That is the benefit of taking a lot of the spin out of the head and being able to use more loft compared to older technology. With today’s technology taking so much spin out of the club, you can use more loft which makes the club so much more playable and versatile.” —Todd Chew, TaylorMade Senior Tour Representative

Scheffler has had the P·7TW irons in the bag since the 2021 American Express, while previously playing TaylorMade’s P·730 irons. After seeing the P·7TWs being played by many of his competitors, Scheffler expressed interest in late 2020 about playing the irons in order to be able to hit more types of shots with the capability the Tiger Woods inspired irons possess. Since putting them in the bag, Scheffler has 12 Top 10s, three PGA TOUR wins and a Ryder Cup.

NEED TO KNOW

- Scheffler signed a multi-year deal March 9 to join Team TaylorMade playing the company’s Stealth Plus driver, Stealth fairway and P·7TW irons

- Sunday’s win by Scheffler marks the fifth win on the PGA TOUR by a player with Stealth Plus driver in the bag and the seventh on all men’s and women’s professional tours in 2022

The company has engineered carbon fiber composite shafts that are ultra-lightweight, extremely durable, and provide the golfer with a unique dexterity unlike any other on the market.  Achieving this level of performance, at less than 1/3 the weight of a typical steel shaft, is an engineering marvel that translates to putting instruments that naturally improve the putting stroke and performance.

Sacks Parente holds numerous patents and patents pending on their game-changing putter technologies.  “We will continue to lead the field in putter technology and performance while continuing to grow to our portfolio of patented products.  The addition of a golf shaft manufacturing facility will allow us to accelerate this development and growth,“ added Tim Triplett.
