Explore Branson Golf Destination Courses Shine in ‘Golfweek’s Best’ Annual Rankings

Five cited for excellence in Missouri including the top four, three garner ‘Top 100 Public Course’ status

(BRANSON, MISSOURI) – Golfweek recently announced two “Golfweek’s Best” lists (“Top Courses by State” and “Top 100 Public Access Courses”) and five courses in the Explore Branson golf destination garnered best-of recognition in them.

Nationally, Ozarks National (Bill Coore and Ben Crenshaw design), Buffalo Ridge (Tom Fazio and Johnny Morris), and Payne’s Valley (Tiger Woods) earned distinction in the “Top 100 Public Course” list, ranking nos. 51, 77, and 93, respectively.

For Missouri public courses, Golfweek course raters ranked Ozarks National No. 1 in the state, Buffalo Ridge No. 2, Branson Hills No. 3 (Chuck Smith/Bobby Clampett), Payne’s Valley No. 4, and LedgeStone No. 7 (Tom Clark).

The hundreds of members of Golfweek’s course-ratings panel continually evaluate courses and rate them based on 10 criteria on a points basis of 1 through 10. They also file a single, overall rating on each course. Those overall ratings are averaged to produce the final rankings.

“Golfweek bestowing this honor on us validates not only that our course is considered one of the finest, but also that the Branson golf destination is one of America’s best given that five of the 10 here merited top rankings,” said Dan Davis, PGA, Branson Hills Golf Club, Director of Golf.

Branson’s five other courses are Top of the Rock (Jack Nicklaus), Mountain Top (Gary Player), Thousand Hills (Bob Cupp), The Pointe, and Holiday Hills. Top of the Rock and Mountain Top are award-winning par-3 courses, a welcome addition in golf trips where players tee up 18-holers in the morning, then add afternoon “short course” rounds. Thousand Hills has often earned “favorite course” status among area golfers, while The Pointe and Holiday Hills provide additional popular 18-hole playing options.

The two short courses and Ozarks National, Buffalo Ridge, and Payne’s Valley are amenities of Big Cedar Lodge.

All 10 courses in the destination are located near one another as well as hundreds of restaurants, lodging options, and after-golf attractions.

“Having many courses judged to be best-in the state and in the country is exciting; we hope it inspires people to visit our golf destination in the Branson Missouri Ozarks,” said Lynn Berry, Director of Communications, Explore Branson.

Branson is the No. 3 rated trending tourism destination in America according to Tripadvisor, a place where live entertainment theatres, lakes, museums, a world-famous theme park (Silver Dollar City), sports venues, outdoor adventures, and family friendly activities proliferate.

Tripadvisor, the world’s largest travel guidance platform named Branson’s Silver Dollar City the No. 1 theme park in the United States last week. Utilizing traveler reviews and ratings for experiences, tours, activities, and attractions on their site over a 12-month period (May 1, 2022 - April 30, 2023), as well as an additional editorial process, earned the theme park top status.

Golfweek Magazine Ranks Caledonia, True Blue Among South Carolina’s Top 5 Courses

True Blue

(PAWLEYS ISLAND, S.C.)
Golfweek Magazine has unveiled its always anticipated list of “The Best Courses You Can Play 2023,” a ranking of the top public layouts in every state, and the venerable publication included Caledonia Golf & Fish Club and True Blue Golf Club among South Carolina’s top 5.

The Palmetto State is arguably America’s greatest, serving as the host for countless golf trips, PGA Tour events and major championships, and the Golfweek rankings reaffirmed the place of Caledonia and True Blue among its best. Caledonia was ranked fourth on the popular list and was immediately followed by No. 5 True Blue.

Mike Strantz’s first solo design, Caledonia exploded on the golf travel scene upon opening in 1994 and its popularity has only grown since. The course is renowned for its creativity - Strantz crafted Caledonia with just 120 acres of land to work with - and stunning Lowcountry beauty.

A consensus top 100 public course, Caledonia plays through soaring live oak trees draped in Spanish moss and it’s immaculately maintained, adding to the experience. The unforgettable, par 4 18th hole attracts much of the attention but Caledonia is a treat to play from beginning to end.

The course’s par 3s are as strong as any collection of one-shotters in the Myrtle Beach area, highlighted by No, 17, which features one of the course’s largest greens and it’s completely surrounded by sand.

Located less than a mile away, True Blue offers a contrasting yet equally enjoyable experience. The course is one of the biggest in South Carolina, challenging players with sweeping fairways, sprawling waste bunkers, and large multi-tiered greens complexes.

True Blue, which has been ranked among America’s top 100 public courses, is home to fairways that are upwards of 100 yards wide and greens complexes with as many pinnable areas as any in the state, providing a variety of setup options that golfers love.

The fourth hole, a button hook par 5 that plays around a lake, is one of the area’s most recognizable, demanding risk-reward decisions from players every step of the way. It’s one of five par 5s on a course that demands power, precision and touch.

GameGolf Welcomes Famed Golf Instructor Martin Chuck

Renowned teacher to showcase user benefits and to direct in-app coaching process through the new KZN GPS shot tracking platform

(Palo Alto, CA) – GAMEGOLF, the game’s leading GPS shot- and stat-tracking sensor platform, is pleased to welcome renowned golf instructor, inventor and presenter Martin Chuck as the brand’s Coaching Lead and official ambassador. Chuck will be a spokesman and educator for the brand in content and videos and will also be instrumental in developing best practices and optimization plans for coaches and instructors who, along with their students, use the innovative GameGolf KZN platform.

“Martin Chuck is one of the brightest minds and most generous and talented teachers in the game today. Our team couldn’t be more excited that he’s a part of GameGolf and will educate golfers and coaches on the competitive edge GameGolf KZN delivers,” says Joe McKnight, V.P. of Engineering at GameGolf. “What Martin brings to GameGolf is the practical simplification of the platform’s various and beneficial features as well as leadership that will show coaches and golfers how to get the most out of GameGolf KZN.”

GameGolf recently announced its most extensive upgrades to date with the launch of its next-generation technology “KZN,” short for Kaizen (pronounced KY-zen), which means “constant improvement” in Japanese and Korean cultures. The cutting-edge new GameGolf KZN platform supports the company’s reinvigorated vision and reinvestment to maintain its position as the leading GPS stat tracker for golfers and coaches.

“Golfers seeing measurable improvement in key areas of their game can be a great motivator and can get them fired up to play more golf. That’s why I’m excited to be the instruction and coaching lead for GameGolf,” said Chuck. “It’s a large community of improvement-minded golfers who are serious about getting smarter and getting better. I’m excited to help motivate more golfers and coaches to take advantage of the upgrades GameGolf has put into the platform. The technology and user interface upgrades will help raise the level of enjoyment and engagement golfers get out of the game.”

Chuck, a perennial honoree on both GOLF and Golf Digest’s List of Top 50 Coaches in America, is the creator of Tour Striker Golf Academy, one of America’s top golf schools. A former Canadian Tour player and club professional who learned early in life from legendary pros and ball strikers Moe Norman and George Knudson, Chuck’s notable professional students include major winners Darren Clarke and Mike Weir. He has developed numerous successful training aids and video series and has taught more than 1,000 golf academies over the past three decades, helping more than 50,000 people play better golf.

“As a teacher, it’s incredibly valuable to go beyond just seeing a student’s technique and have GameGolf’s data tracking help me find where my students have gaps in their abilities. With GameGolf KZN, I know instantly, right in the user interface, that their driver might be functional, but they almost never hit the green from 150 to 220 yards. It also makes it easier, too, to address the elephants in the room with students who, for example, hit their driver all over the yard. That’s data you can’t hide from. If golfers are going to spend any of their valuable time practicing, they know where the improvement opportunities truly are with GameGolf. That’s powerful,” Chuck says.

With its engaging new platform and user interface, GameGolf KZN provides an engaging, data-centric, and improvement-driven player experience – thanks to significant technology upgrades. Users enjoy unprecedented GPS shot tracking, data collection, stat tracking, and the Smart Caddie app function analyzing 10 key data points to a game-changing level. Coaches can easily log into a player’s Performance Dashboard and analyze important strokes-gained data (Tee-to-Green, Off-the-Tee, Approach the Green, Around-the-Green, Putting) pulled from both leisure and competitive rounds.

“The GPS technology and shot tracking is so advanced,” Chuck says. “After the round, you see how accurate and detailed the shot tracking is and it makes you want to dive in deeper to the parts of your game you want to work on next. As a teacher, I can help students build their game piece-by-piece until they have the skills and put the work in to become a more complete golfer. GameGolf gives us the exact road map to get a couple of shots better as we learn and grow.”

SuperStroke Congratulates Wyndham Clark on First-Career Major Victory at The U.S. Open

Two-time winner on Tour uses Zenergy Tour 3.0 17" putter grip in gutsy one-shot win

(Wixom, MI) – SuperStroke, the No. 1 Putter Grip in golf and the leader in innovative Tour-proven golf grip technology, congratulates PGA Tour veteran Wyndham Clark on his first-career major championship victory at The United States Open at Los Angeles Country Club. Clark, who recorded his first career victory at The Wells Fargo Championship in May, fired a final-round 70 to hold off three former major winners and win by a single stroke. Clark played in the final group in the final two rounds, showing a steady resolve that culminated with a lengthy clutch lag putt at the 72nd hole to set up the clinching tap in.

With this monumental victory, Clark who uses a SuperStroke Zenergy Tour 3.0 17” putter grip (from the brand’s new “Off the Truck” series), moved up to fourth place in the FedEx Cup Playoff Standings and collected the $3.6 million winner’s purse. The NBC Sports broadcast referenced numerous times that Clark put this putter set up, including his SuperStroke grip, into play earlier this spring after admiring how well another popular player on tour was putting and Clark ordered a putter with that player’s exact specs. Clark has now won twice with this unique putting configuration which uses extra length for a counter-balance effect and a thicker, no-taper grip for stroke stability.

“Congratulations to Wyndham Clark, a tremendously talented golfer and rising star in the game on his impressive victory at the U.S. Open. Wyndham putted beautifully all week, using a SuperStroke Zenergy Tour 3.0 17” putter grip,” says SuperStroke CEO Dean Dingman. “His putting stands out and it’s a thrill to see him having success with a putter and grip configuration that is quietly catching with pros and amateurs alike. We’re proud to congratulate Wyndham Clark as the latest player to win a major championship with a SuperStroke putter grip. He’s a deserving champion.”

The grip Clark used, the SuperStroke Zenergy Tour 3.0 17”, sold out quickly during U.S. Open week but will be available again mid-July. Those interested in ordering one can join the waitlist on SuperStrokeUSA.com.

Eight of the players who finished tied for 10th, or better, at the U.S. Open were using SuperStroke putter grips. SuperStroke brand ambassador Patrick Cantlay shot 67 - 69 in the final two rounds to finish tied for 14th.

At 3.6 inches longer than the standard grip, the Zenergy Tour 3.0 17” – released as part of SuperStroke’s “Off the Truck” series of grips that have been developed with crucial input from tour professionals seeking feel, comfort, performance, and a competitive edge – offers golfers a range of unique benefits. Like any of SuperStroke's extended length grips, the Tour 3.0 17" can be used to achieve an armlock setup by positioning the grip up the forearm. Additionally, the Tour 3.0 17" grip can serve as a counterbalance option, extending the grip above the hands. This allows golfers to shift the weight above the hands and elevate the balance point of the putter, resulting in a more consistent stroke.

Available in White & Black and Red & Black options, the Zenergy Tour 3.0 17" Tour Series putter grip features SuperStroke’s traditional and most popular putter grip profile. The Tour Series parallel design has a uniform lower hand profile to minimize grip pressure and maintain putter head path for a more consistent stroke.

As part of Zenergy, SuperStroke’s latest line of putter grips featuring enhanced Spyne technology, the Zenergy Tour 3.0 17” Putter Grip features new multi-zone texturing, and our patented no-taper shape for unmatched confidence to quiet your hands – and your mind.

Features Include:

Enhanced Spyne™ Technology – The new Spyne™ Technology has an improved, embossed ridge along the underside of the grip, engineered to make it easier to square the face at impact.

New Multi-Zone Texturing – Strategically placed textured in high-sensory areas designed to optimize feedback and comfort from the incredibly soft polyurethane outer layer.

Tech-Port – Located at the top of SuperStroke grips, Tech-Port allows golfers to easily add game-improvement options including the patented CounterCore weight system and performance tracking sensors.

Specifications:

- Width: 1.23"

- Length: 17"

- Weight: 93g

- Core: 0.6"

SuperStroke grips are trusted by legions of top professional golfers. In 2022, SuperStroke users won 61 tournaments on golf’s major professional tours, totaling more than $58.5 million in first-place prize money in those events.

SuperStroke’s putter grip line is a product of relentless innovation, fueled by feedback from more than 450 tour pros. Ocean Course at Hokuala Finishes in Top 3 of 711 Courses Worldwide in Acclaimed Instructional Program

Kellie Hines (left), Lorraine Jimenez (center) and Billie Perreira (right)

Kellie Hines creatively guides the next generation of Hokuala’s ‘rising stars’

(KAUA‘I, Hawai‘i) – Led by PGA Director of Instruction and sixth-generation native of Kaua‘i, Kellie Hines, the Ocean Course at Hokuala has earned five top-three finishes in the monthly 2022/23 Global Leaderboard Challenge of the golf instructional program, Operation 36 (“Ops36”):

• October 2022: 2nd place

• November 2022: 2nd place

• January 2023: 2nd place

• February 2023: 3rd place

• March 2023: 2nd place

Ops36 is a holistic golf training plan with 711 courses worldwide. Golf professionals pair their swing and course management expertise with technology to teach children and adults of all skill levels.

Hokuala’s Ops36 players contribute to the Global Leaderboard Challenge by logging their training sessions, playing golf and participating in Social Actions (Play a New Golf Course, Golf at Home Challenge, Club Wash, Picture with a Pro, Attend a Tour Event, Watch Live Coverage and New Golf Gear). Points are awarded for each post in the Ops36 app.

The program is segmented into Ranks and Divisions. Students begin to learn 12 skills by watching a video in the Ops36 app. Golf coaches then incorporate these skills into each week’s instruction. 9 holes of golf are played every other week.

New students begin play 25 yards away from the hole in Division 1. The student must shoot 36 or better to move to the next Division. The program features 6 Ranks and 10 Divisions. Since adopting the program in June 2021, Hokuala has introduced 137 new players to golf who began in Division 1.

“We have built a special golf ‘Ohana on Kaua‘i that includes children, adults and seniors,” said Hines. “When children and adults are paired together, it encourages them to learn from one another in a meaningful way. At the end of each semester, we conclude with a fun potluck dinner to socialize and celebrate with each other.”

A notable Hokuala Ops36 success story features Billie Perreira. Starting at age 80, Perreira completed six semesters of Ops36. She sought to improve her game and keep playing as long as possible. Hokuala’s programming allowed Perreira to isolate her weaknesses, then build a game plan. With nutrition tips, stretching routines and strength exercises from Hines, her handicap index dropped six strokes at age 82! Now featuring a more rhythmic swing, her accuracy has improved dramatically.

Hokuala’s Ops36 summer term runs from June 5 to July 15. This six-week session combines clinics, short- and long-game practice sessions with nine-hole outings. To learn more about Hines’ upcoming golf camps for all ages and skill levels, visit www.operation36golf.com/community-map/1409

Titleist is #1 ball at U.S. Open for 75th Consecutive Year

The longest running equipment success story in golf continues at Los Angeles Country Club this week

(FAIRHAVEN, Mass.) – At the 1949 U.S. Open at Medinah Country Club, more players chose to put a Titleist golf ball in play than any other brand, with 32 (20%) of the 159-player field teeing up a Titleist. For the first time, Titleist was the #1 ball at the U.S. Open Championship.

At every U.S. Open for the next three-quarters of a century – from Oakmont to Olympic and Pinehurst to Pebble Beach – Titleist golf balls have been the top choice of players competing for the U.S. Open trophy and a place in history.

This week, at Los Angeles Country Club, where the event is being contested for the first time, the overwhelming majority of participants in the 123rd U.S. Open are once again teeing up a Titleist, continuing golf’s longest running equipment success story of 75 consecutive years.

Of the 156 players at LACC, 106 (68%) are playing a Titleist Pro V1 or Pro V1x model, more than five times the nearest competitor with 21 (13%), according to Darrell Survey.

Titleist was also the #1 ball among the more than 850 amateurs and professionals who teed it up in a final U.S. Open qualifier, with 77% playing a Pro V1 or Pro V1x.

“Anytime you can make a piece of equipment that can be the best for that amount of time is pretty cool,” said Tony Finau. “I’ve played Titleist pretty much most of my life. I grew up playing Pro V1 golf balls when you came out with the very first one. The longevity tells you that the best players are playing it and I’m just happy to be a part of that group.”

“It takes a lot of work to get to that point and then it takes, I would say, even more work to stay there. And so when I think of the Titleist ball, I think of how reliable it is,” said Scottie Scheffler.

THE BIRTH OF TITLEIST

The Titleist brand started with a vision when Phil Young, a dedicated amateur golfer and owner of a precision molded rubber company, missed a well-stroked putt to lose a match at the Country Club of New Bedford. Convinced that his golf ball was at fault, Young asked his opponent, a doctor at nearby St. Luke’s Hospital, to put the ball under an x-ray. The results showed the core was indeed off-center.

With his discovery, Young set out to develop the highest quality and best performing golf ball in the world, one that would provide golfers with consistent performance, ball after ball. After three years of development, the first Titleist was introduced in 1935.

Needing a way to convey the ball’s performance and quality, the Acushnet Golf Ball Demonstration Machine was introduced to golfers in the 1940’s. The machine, led by Claude Hastings – part salesman, engineer and showman – toured golf courses around the country, launching golf balls from a dual pendulum machine. Competitors’ golf balls flew erratically compared to the consistent flight of the Titleist.

By 1945, Titleist golf balls were gaining momentum across the collection of professional golf tournaments being played around the country. Titleist became the most played golf ball on the winter tours in California and Florida by the late 1940’s, leading up to the groundbreaking ball count victory at the 1949 U.S. Open.

GolfTrainingAids.com Debuts The Connector

New training aid was developed by renowned teaching pro Dan Frost

(West Palm Beach, FL) – GolfTrainingAids.com, home of the world's largest selection of golf teaching and training aids, has begun offering an all-new training aid, The Connector, that was created by famed teaching pro Dan Frost, inventor of the award-winning Sure-Set.

The Connector is a uniquely designed foam ball device with axis rods running through it to help golfers maintain connection between their arms and torso and improve alignment at impact. That leads to better ball striking and more compression. The device also provides immediate feedback on the amount of rotation required for a variety of golf skills, from putting all the way to driver swings. The Connector helps golfers establish proper arm position at address and trains the body and arms to work in harmony to make a golfer’s swing motion more efficient.

“The Connector fits comfortably between a golfer’s arms and is made of very soft memory foam,” says Frost. “The innovative design includes a curved axis bar and central alignment stick. The bar allows you to visualize the movement-arc required on different skills, and the alignment stick makes visible the degree of rotation at any stage of the swing. More importantly, it helps set you in the correct alignments at impact to improve ball striking. The real key is improved awareness of both concept and swing feel.”

“It's about establishing good arm structure at address and then training your body, arms and wrists to work in synch to make the movement efficient,” says Frost. “Most amateurs get the experience of less movement. When they watch it back, it looks more Pro-like. The Connector is easy to use. I suggest starting with chips and pitches to experience compression, then venturing into three-quarter swings and full swings. Work through the bag to give some symmetry across the skill sets. There are no complex drills. You just need some patience, as it will initially feel different before reps make those new feelings instinctive to you.”

The Connector sells for $109.99 and is made to the highest standards, with high grade memory foam and durable materials designed to last. It’s also tested and verified by Gears Golf for its effectiveness and benefit. It comes ready to use and no assembly required.

“We have been collaborating with Dan Frost for over a year and The Connector is my favorite new product from Sure Golf.  Golfers of all skill levels are going to love The Connector, because it facilitates a quick learning curve and it really does connect all the different parts of the golf swing” says John Diulus, president of golftrainingaids.com. “I also love The Connector because of its versatility, not only is it great for full swing but it’s equally good for chipping and putting.”

GameGolf Announces Next-Generation KZN Shot-Tracking Platform

Leading GPS shot tracking platform is rebranded with best-in-class technology for high-level game improvement

(Palo Alto, CA) – GAMEGOLF, the game’s leading GPS shot- and stat-tracking sensor platform, announces its most extensive and innovative upgrades to date with the launch of its next-generation technology “KZN,” short for Kaizen (pronounced KY-zen), which means “constant improvement” in Japanese and Korean cultures. The cutting-edge new GameGolf KZN platform supports the company’s reinvigorated vision and reinvestment to maintain its position as the leading GPS stat tracker for golfers and coaches.

GameGolf KZN has launched with updated pricing – the $269.99 price includes the KZN hardware and a free one-year membership (a nearly $120 value) – making KZN the most affordable and technically advanced system in the space while elevating the user experience across the board.

“The release of GameGolf KZN celebrates the complete reimagining and reengineering of golf’s original GPS shot-tracking system, with markedly improved design and technology advancements and a tremendously elevated user experience,” says Joe McKnight, V.P. of Engineering at GameGolf. “Golfers and coaches who enjoy technology in this category are going to be blown away by its responsiveness, accuracy, graphics, gamified modes and deep, robust shot analysis – all designed to dive deeper than ever before into the individual shots and skills they need to shoot lower scores and improve their game faster.”

CUTTING EDGE A.I. AND GPS POWER SUPERB USER EXPERIENCE

With an engaging new platform and user interface, GameGolf KZN provides an immersive, data-centric, and improvement-driven player experience – thanks to significant technology upgrades. Users will enjoy unprecedented GPS shot tracking, data collection and stat tracking.

The first thing golfers will notice is the sleek, compact hardware unit and its high-tech black and metallic look. It clips to the golfer’s belt. Players also attach GameGolf KZN’s 14 lightweight smart tags to their clubs. What elevates these smart tags above all others: They house replaceable batteries that eliminate the need to buy new tags when the batteries deplete.

GameGolf developers have also made dedicated strides to ensure Exceptional Battery Life. The smart tags are powerful and work in concert with a state-of-the-art A.I. Neural Network that provides an incredibly accurate shot tracking system and the first to use the same smart tags for woods, hybrids, irons, wedges and putters. Any KZN smart tag attaches to any club. Then there is the system’s speed. GameGolf KZN uses an advanced and powerful GPS chip that enables impressively fast GPS shot location uploads – for a highly responsive and seamless user interaction.

GameGolf completely revamped its IT infrastructure, while also adding a new digital User Experience across its Apps and a Performance Dashboard that is more visual, gamified, and highly interactive. Golfers can dive deeper than ever into their data and stats analysis, to help quickly and efficiently improve their game.

ROBUST ANALYTICS FOR FOCUSED GAME IMPROVEMENT

In the Post Round Analysis section, the game is broken into Strokes Gained categories that motivate golfers and allow them to compare elements of their game to others with similar, higher or lower handicaps. The system will also pinpoint and suggest practice areas of a game that will help golfers more quickly reach their desired handicap.

ON-COURSE PLAYING MODES

Taking advantage of the industry’s most accurate shot-tracking platform is as easy as arriving at the course and pressing a button. There's no need to tap an external wearable device. GPS location can be detected in as little as 10 seconds from powering your device at more than 36,000 courses, so you are ready to play golf immediately. GameGolf KZN recognizes the location of the course and is ready to go. It operates in three different modes.

The first playing mode is Offline – simply start playing and the system automatically detects and tracks every shot and yardage by each club, and then automatically uploads the custom data to the companion smartphone app (iOS, Android) or the GameGolf website for review. It’s ideal for people who don't want to bother with their phone on the course. In the second Live mode, golfers use their phone, on which they can see fly-by hole graphics and their live ball position. Shots are instantly recorded, as well. Plus, golfers can play live competitions with friends who are on the course at the same time.

The third mode is the truly advanced Smart Caddie. Previously available as an add-on subscription, it is now included in the standard price. After about six rounds using GameGolf KZN, golfers can have Smart Caddie recommend customized shots and club selection, based on their unique shot tendencies and current playing conditions. It’s genuinely like having a caddie’s knowledge in hand.

Smart Caddie factors in wind, humidity and elevation. And users can choose if they want Smart Caddie to feed them advice based on a Safe, Optimal or Aggressive Strategy. It is designed specifically to create a seamless and unmatched immersive, on-course experience for golfers that leads them to make better playing and practice decisions to lower their scores.

POWERFUL DATA FOR FASTER IMPROVEMENT

For both players and coaches (Individual or Team), the Smart Caddie app analyzes 10 key data points to a game-changing level. Coaches can easily log into a player’s Performance Dashboard and analyze important strokes-gained data (Tee-to-Green, Off-the-Tee, Approach the Green, Around-the-Green, Putting) pulled from both leisure and competitive rounds. For high-school and college golf coaches, this can take overall team improvement to another level. With video and statistical data platforms similar to the technology commonly used by football and basketball coaches today, GameGolf KZN opens up the power of deep-dive, performance-improvement-driven data analytics for golf teams everywhere.

Additional data points the platform provides includes individual scores and averages, GPS rangefinder for more than 36,000 golf courses, individual handicaps, club yardages, and overall shot dispersion. All of this shot data together provides valuable insight on what players need to work on to create strategic practice plans for game improvement.

“Interactivity and social engagement are other incredible ways that GameGolf KZN stands apart," says McKnight. "From real-time, in-round competitions in KZN’s Live Mode to the ability to share shot data with coaches and instructors for optimal game improvement, this system harnesses, aggregates and shares your shot data in ways that will set you on the fast track to better golf and deeper enjoyment of the game.”

Golfweek Rating Panelists Rank Circling Raven No. 1 Public Course in Idaho

Coeur d’Alene Casino Resort Amenity Garners Top Spot in State for 12th Time

(Worley, Idaho) – Idaho is home to some of the country’s finest, most-scenic courses, and at the top stands Circling Raven, according to Golfweek’s Best raters.

The Gene Bates-designed championship layout is ranked No. 1 in its recently published “Golfweek’s Best by State 2023” list. This marks the 12th time Circling Raven has been recognized as Idaho’s best public golf course by the media outlet’s cadre of raters. To come up with “Golfweek’s Best,” hundreds of Golfweek course raters evaluate courses nationwide annually and score them based on 10 criteria.

Owned by the Coeur d’Alene Tribe and an amenity of its award-winning casino resort in the scenic Idaho panhandle, Circling Raven’s 18 holes are ingeniously routed across 620 stunning acres of Palouse terrain. Named after a seminal tribal chief, the course sits amid woodlands, wetlands, and wildlife, including eagles and moose. Nature and reverence for the land are essential to the course and Tribal custom.

“The Tribe’s mission is to empower our people through our enterprises and to pay homage to our ancestors and ancestral homelands,” said Laura Penney, CEO of Coeur d’Alene Casino Resort Hotel. “Circling Raven does this wonderfully, and we deeply appreciate the objective critical acclaim.”

In addition to being rated No. 1 in Idaho, the course is regularly ranked among the country’s best in Resort Course, Casino Course, Pro Shop and other best-in-kind categories.  It will host the Circling Raven Championship, an Epson “Road to the LPGA” Tour event, August 21-27. Top women professionals from around the globe will vie for their share of the $225,000 prize purse.

Located approximately 55 minutes from Spokane International Airport (GEG), Circling Raven measures 7,189 yards from the rear tees. Many who play Circling Raven, which includes a nationally honored retail pro shop and the excellent Twisted Earth Grill, claim it as an immediate favorite for golf getaways.

After golf options include the 15,000-square-foot spa, an award-winning casino celebrating its 30th anniversary this year with special events and giveaways, multiple restaurants and bars, and live entertainment and shows.

SkyGolf Highlights Commitment to SkyCaddie Players with Support at 2023 Senior PGA Championship

(RIDGELAND, MS)
— SkyGolf, maker of SkyCaddie, the most-trusted rangefinders in golf, reported that it attended the 2023 KitchenAid Senior PGA Championship in Frisco, Texas to reinforce its commitment to its loyal SkyCaddie players.

“We’re thrilled that distance measuring devices have been allowed in the Senior PGA Championship for the past couple of years and that we were able to come out to the event this year and support the PGA professionals who use SkyCaddie,” said Jacqui Surman, SkyGolf Senior VP and COO.

“We were able to map the new Fields Ranch East Course in April of 2023, before it officially opened on May 2, 2023,” said Clay Simpson, SkyGolf Logistics and Operations Manager. “This allowed SkyCaddie players to have the most accurate, detailed and reliable information to help them plan every tee and approach shot beyond the limitations of the yardage book.”

Here a few comments from SkyCaddie users playing in the Senior PGA Championship:

“To me, it’s so much better than a yardage book because it’s instant. You don’t have to go backwards and forwards to find sprinklers or the particular points that the yardage book uses. This gives you instant feedback. It’s the best gadget I’ve ever had for helping me get around the golf course."

“It is just so easy to use, especially when you don’t have a direct line to shoot it with a laser.”

“It gives you a lot of information including front, middle and back of greens, all the dangers and also the runouts to bunkers. It provides the distance to carry a bunker on every single shot.”

“I’ve been using the SkyCaddie in practice rounds for 3 ½ years and it has always been spot on. It’s really helpful when the yardage book is a bit too complicated on a lot of occasions.”

“It’s great for my course strategy at the start of the week by helping me make a bit of a plan.”

For more comments by SkyCaddie players at the Senior PGA Championship, please visit our Instagram page at @skycaddiegps.

All SkyCaddie GPS devices are preloaded with over 35,000 best-in-class courses and feature Wi-Fi connectivity to streamline application updates and getting the latest course updates without connecting to a computer.

A SkyCaddie reveals many aspects of a golf hole which are invisible to laser users, who only have line of sight. Unlike other GPS devices, SkyCaddie creates and frequently updates each course map on foot to record thousands of points with sub-meter precision, making it the most accurate GPS device on the market today.

You can find top-rated SkyCaddie models at all leading golf retailers including Edwin Watts, Roger Dunne, PGA Super Store and authorized online retailers such as Play Better Golf. Give Dad a New Wedge Game this Father’s Day with EDISON 2.0 Wedges

Save 10% on all wedges through June 18.

(ROCKPORT, TX) — Edison Golf, a company dedicated to revolutionizing wedge performance, announces Father's Day promotion of 10% OFF the new EDISON 2.0 wedges through June 18. Use code: FATHERSDAY to SAVE 10% on all wedges. The promotion includes 10% OFF Edison’s already discounted 3-wedge sets and 4-wedge sets.

The new EDISON 2.0 wedges represent a quantum leap in wedge design, as they are the only wedges on the market specifically designed around a multi-year study of the way recreational golfers hit their wedges, as opposed to being designed only for the extraordinary skills of elite tour players.

“If your dad loves golf and wants a better wedge game, he’ll love our new EDISON 2.0 wedges,” said Terry Koehler, Chairman and Director of Innovation at Edison Golf. “They’re specifically designed for forgiveness, distance control and versatile turf interaction, without sacrificing shot making precision. The overwhelming reaction to the 2.0 line is that our repeat customers all like them even better than our original Edison Forged wedges. And, if for any reason they’re not the best wedges your dad has ever played, we have a 30-Day Risk Free Trial.”

“For over 40 years, I have been puzzled as to why golfers are forced to suffer from the inefficiencies of ‘tour design’ wedges,” added Koehler. “Robotic testing consistently proves even the newest iterations of these traditional wedge designs are less forgiving than even a tour blade short iron. Our research reveals that less than 10% of golfers consider their wedge play a strength of their games . . . and the wedges they play are a big reason why.”

Koehler’s extensive study of the impact pattern on thousands of recreational golfers’ wedges reveals that even the most skilled golfers routinely make contact higher in the face and over a larger area than do the elite tour professionals. This is why most amateurs cannot get consistent performance from their wedges, and why you even see tour professionals frequently come up way short with their wedge shots.

Introduced in 2020, the original Edison Forged wedges significantly improved wedge performance by dramatically changing the way mass was distributed across the back of the clubhead. In the EDISON 2.0 line of wedges, an additional 14-17 grams have been positioned even higher in the clubhead, achieved by creation of a multi-level back design that optimizes smash factor across the face. This repositioning also creates a fresh and distinctive visual appeal to the product.

In addition to enhanced weighting technologies, the EDISON 2.0 wedges feature an improved version of the renowned and proven “Koehler Sole”. Patented over 30 years ago, this unique sole design combines both a high and low bounce into each wedge and has been proven by thousands of golfers to deliver an unmatched level of sole versatility to handle different lies and different swing paths.

Edison’s online buying experience is easy to use. With a few simple clicks, the buyer can assemble the lofts in his/her set of wedges, select the preferred shaft and grip and request any custom alterations to Edison standards. This “Build Yours Now” interface coordinates with Edison’s enhanced and improved WedgeFit® Scoring Range Analysis experience.

All EDISON 2.0 wedges are backed by a 30-Day Risk Free Trial. The company will build you an EDISON 2.0 wedge and let you put it to the test on your course, hitting the variety of shots you face every round. If for any reason it's not the best wedge you've ever played, Edison Golf will buy it back.

EDISON 2.0 wedges are engineered to odd-number lofts from 45 to 59 degrees and are custom built for each golfer from a wide selection of premium shafts and grips. Requests for even number lofts are met by tweaking the lower number clubhead. Standard pricing is $199.95 for steel shaft wedges and $214.95 for graphite shafts. Shipping is free, and discounts are applied on orders for full sets of two or more. A broad selection of up-charge options for shafts and grips is also available during the shopping experience via the company’s website at www.EdisonWedges.com.

Some think it provides an unfair advantage, but the Brush-t conforms to the rules of the USGA and the Royal and Ancient Golf Society at St. Andrews.

“Another feature that Dad will appreciate, is that the Brush-t feels like you’re playing on grass. The club’s sole glides through the bristle during contact,” added Krok.

The Nemacolin Golf Academy Announces Two-Day Golf School, July 13 - 14

Top instructors Andrew Rice, Mike LaBella headline total-game improvement sessions

(Farmington, PA) – The Nemacolin Golf Academy, the game improvement epicenter at Pennsylvania’s premier luxury golf resort destination, announced a special Two-Day Golf School on July 13 - 14. The total-game-improvement-focused school will be led by Nemacolin’s director of instruction Mike LaBella, a Golf Digest Best Young Teacher along with the renowned Andrew Rice, one of Golf Digest’s 50 Best Teachers in America.

“The Nemacolin Golf Academy is offering the ultimate game improvement experience this July," says LaBella. “The opportunity to work with Andrew Rice, one of the leading minds in golf instruction, and our Nemacolin instruction staff in our state-of-the-art learning environment is the ideal way to turn the weaknesses in your game into strengths that help you play better and lower your handicap.”

Golfers looking to improve any aspect of their full swing as well as the short game won’t want to miss this rare opportunity to work with this duo of top teachers in an academy setting optimized for fostering better play. The Nemacolin Golf Academy utilizes cutting-edge hardware like TrackMan launch monitors and simulators, Foresight Sports’ GCQuad launch monitor, and Swing Catalyst’s Balance and Dual Force Plates.

The Golf Academy’s four spacious hitting bays, complete with a dedicated, 1,000-square-foot putting room, also opens up to the outdoor 25-station driving range that sits adjacent to two short-game practice areas, a large putting green.

The July golf school with Rice and LaBella also includes custom video analysis and on-course lessons on one of Nemacolin’s acclaimed championship golf courses.

Rice, one of the most sought-after instructors in the game, is the director of instruction at The Club at Savannah Harbor in Savannah, Ga., and has been teaching golf for 25 years. He is a Golf Pass Staff Instructor, a TrackMan Master and one of nine TrackMan University Partners in the world. Rice is also a Swing Catalyst and Arccos Ambassador. LaBella, who helms operations at The Nemacolin Golf Academy, cites his three most important characteristics for every golfer as course management, a strong short game, and placing an emphasis on specific shot skills rather than picture-perfect technique.

For golfers looking for practical, repeatable skills that breed confidence and consistency, this Two-Day Golf School at the Nemacolin Golf Academy July 13 – 14 is the perfect chance to lower their handicaps in 2023.

“I'm excited to come to Nemacolin and conduct this incredible learning experience in one of the finest teaching academies in the country. If you enroll in this Two-Day School, you're going to leave with confidence and a working plan for practicing smarter and executing your best shots on the golf course.” Rice says.

(LOS ANGELES, CA) – College Golf Experience (CGX), exclusively endorsed by the Golf Coaches Association of America (GCAA), is proud to announce adidas Golf as the presenting sponsor for its innovative series of Top100 Boys and Girls Camps bringing together top ranked coaches, programs, and junior golfers.

As part of the sponsorship, players at CGX Top100 Camps will receive adidas backpacks, hats, shirts and outwear to wear during camp as well as an exclusive link to additional discounted adidas product offerings. The campers will receive adidas Golf scripting with notes on what to wear at the camp each day, similar to what they would experience on a college golf team and in professional golf. CGX marketing across all platforms for Top100 Camps will bear the adidas logo, and adidas signage will appear on-site at all Top100 camps.

“adidas Golf is an iconic brand with a rich heritage of supporting elite junior golf initiatives like the American Junior Golf Association (AJGA). To have them as the presenting sponsor of CGX Top100 Camps brings great pride and further validates our camps as an integral step on the pathway to playing college golf,” says CGX CEO Joshua Jacobs. “CGX camps with college coaches complement a junior golfer’s tournament schedule and create the connective tissue between junior golf and college golf. adidas Golf sponsored CGX’s first-ever Boys and Girls Top100 Showcase Camps at The Wigwam Resort outside of Phoenix last year and will continue its support beginning with the upcoming Boys Top100 South Camp at Texas Rangers Golf Club in Arlington, TX, July 18 - 19. Five more Top100 Camps are scheduled for 2023.

At CGX Top100 Camps, juniors and their parents engage with the best-of-the-best coaches over two days where they experience: immersive education sessions on college golf and the recruiting pathway, open Q&A sessions and one-on-one engagement with coaches, on-course coach engagement and instruction during simulated college golf practice and tournament rounds, and real-time evaluation and personalized feedback from the coaches help them find the right collegiate program fit.

“adidas Golf is proud to continue our support of CGX and the exceptional gathering of coaches and junior golfers it brings together to foster young players and their game," said Steve Splavec, Managing Director of NAM and LAM at adidas Golf. “We’re confident that our performance apparel and footwear products will support these college hopefuls as they strive to achieve their dream of playing collegiate golf. We are proud to be a part of it.”

Head coaches from top NCAA golf programs confirmed for the upcoming Top100 South Camp include:
