John A. Solheim Named 2022 PGA Distinguished Service Award Recipient
Solheim is being honored by the PGA of America for his decades of work in the golf industry and dedication to the junior game
(FRISCO, Texas and PHOENIX) – John A. Solheim, the Executive Chairman of PING in Phoenix, Arizona, and son of founder Karsten Solheim, has been named the 2022 PGA Distinguished Service Award recipient by the PGA of America.
Solheim will be honored on Wednesday, Nov. 2, as part of the 2022 PGA Annual Meeting at the JW Marriott Desert Ridge Resort in Phoenix.
Since 1988, the PGA Distinguished Service Award honors outstanding individuals who display leadership and humanitarian qualities, including integrity, sportsmanship and enthusiasm for the game of golf. Among the recipients are three U.S. Presidents (Gerald Ford, George H.W. Bush, Bill Clinton), Arnold Palmer, Jack Nicklaus, Barbara Nicklaus, Pete Dye, Vince Gill, Bob Hope and Lee Trevino.
One of the game’s true innovators, Solheim, who began working for his father as a teenager in the family garage in 1959, is a renowned inventor and forward thinker. With more than 170 U.S. patents to his name, he has influenced the design of golf clubs and bags across the industry, helping PING become one of the most trusted manufacturers in golf and recognizable names in sports equipment.
“John Solheim has set an industry standard for how a golf company should run, and his love and dedication for creating the highest quality products has elevated the bar for all equipment manufacturers,” said PGA President Jim Richerson. “But what is truly admirable about John, and what speaks to his character, is his commitment to growing golf through youth participation and helping physically challenged adults, children and military Veterans discover a love for the game.”
“I’m very appreciative to receive such a prestigious honor from the PGA of America,” said John Solheim. “I’ve been blessed to spend my entire career in the golf industry. It’s allowed us to continue building a family business, which is very enjoyable for me to now guide our strong third generation in their leadership positions and still allow me to do what I enjoy most, design and develop future products.”
PING, under Solheim’s watch, has sponsored more than 50 American Junior Golf Association (AJGA) tournaments and created thousands of playing opportunities for juniors. In 2002, Solheim personally created the PING Junior Solheim Cup for girls ages 12-18, modeled after the Solheim Cup, which was founded by Solheim’s parents in 1990. PING is also a supporting partner of PGA Jr. League, which provides an introduction to the game for kids 17 and under in a fun team environment.
Under Solheim’s leadership, PING expanded its club fitting services for physically challenged golfers. He’s advanced that further by integrating those efforts into physical rehabilitation for wounded and disabled Veterans, ensuring they can enjoy the game.
Solheim and PING also collaborated with Bubba Watson to raise funds for Phoenix Children’s Hospital, leading to the development of the Bubba Watson and PING Golf Motion Analysis Lab—which uses state-of-the-art equipment to measure real 3D motion, force and muscular activity to develop personalized care plans for children with orthopedic and neurological conditions.
As a company, PING has flourished under Solheim’s leadership. It became the first club manufacturer to be ISO certified, a distinction given to companies that meet a set of established quality standards to meet and exceed customer and stakeholder needs.
PING is also a founding member of the United States Golf Manufacturers Council, which works with governmental agencies on international trade matters and anti-counterfeiting efforts. The USGMC also works with golf’s ruling bodies to improve upon the equipment rule making process.
“To lead today requires unbelievable research in every category, and I promise we won’t stop,” said Solheim. “Much of our success is directly related to our relationships with the PGA Professionals who have represented and helped promote our products for more than 60 years. Early on, my father, Karsten, recognized that the PGA’s role and expertise would have a big influence in custom fitting our clubs to help golfers play better, and enjoy the game more. To be recognized by the PGA is especially meaningful and one of the biggest highlights of my career.”

Earlier this year, Scottie Scheffler, the 2021-22 PGA Tour Player of the Year, started working with the groundbreaking product just weeks before winning four PGA Tour events, including the Masters, which catapulted him to the top of the world rankings. Scheffler uses the Swing Trainer daily at PGA Tour events and joined the GOLFFOREVER team as its marquee ambassador in May. He will be featured in stores on packaging and retail displays.

Golfers Can Experience Explosive Power with Zero Friction’s B-52 Distance Ball
(OAKBROOK TERRACE, IL) – Like the great B-52 bomber plane, golfers can now experience the explosive power of the Zero Friction B-52 Distance Golf Ball.
Zero Friction, the company known for delivering cutting edge products to golf enthusiasts of all skill levels, designed the B-52 designed with a 392 dimple pattern to create less spin and dispersion than a traditional 496 dimple ball. This 20% reduction in dimple pattern generates greater ball velocity and reduces spin resulting in longer drives.
“The goal was to build a high-quality distance ball in a value pack so we made this 15-ball package,” said Zero Friction Founder & CEO, John Iacono. “To sum it up -- more distance and more balls for a reasonable price.”
Combined with the Zero Friction 3-prong tee, which reduces 66% tee surface coverage, distance and accuracy will be your weapon. The 392 dimple pattern also rolls smoother on the green for more accurate putts. The B-52 Bomber’s 2-piece construction travels up to five yards longer 85 compression outer core shallow 392 dimple pattern allows for less friction in the air and on the green.

OnCore Golf Announces VERO X2 Is Now Available
Second Generation of the VERO Tour Ball
(BUFFALO, N.Y.) – OnCore Golf announces the highly anticipated VERO X2 is now available on OnCore’s website. This second generation of tour-level golf ball from the VERO family is a four-piece ball boasting a super-fast core and a high modulus, metal-infused mantle connected to a thin, cast urethane cover by a nano-engineered transition layer. The VERO X2 has a higher compression rating than the VERO X1 – 95 vs. 85 – and firmer feel optimal for players with high swing speeds.
Leveraging the same unique architecture as the VERO X1, the VERO X2 delivers low driver spin and a high, wind-penetrating trajectory for even greater distance and accuracy. This same combination brings an optimized spin profile with irons and a trajectory engineered for stopping power on firm greens.
“The VERO X2, previously only accessible to professional golfers, is now available for purchase online,” said Keith Blakely, CEO. “Instead of spending $600 for the latest driver promising 2 – 3 mph higher ball speed, we believe the better investment is in the ball itself, which our testing shows delivers much more improvement in initial ball velocity off the tee. We’re confident high swing speed golfers will quickly see the distance, control, and accuracy benefits it provides over the top name-brand tour balls.”
On course, the VERO X2 is played by many of OnCore Golf’s professional golfers including Erik Compton (PGA/Korn Ferry Tour) and Louis Kelly (various tours). Louis Kelly became the first golfer to win a tournament playing the VERO X2 at the 102nd New Jersey Open Championship (July 2022).
“The OnCore VERO X2 ball is the best ball I’ve ever played” said Kelly. “It delivers unmatched consistency in flight, exceptional distance, and a soft feel around the greens.”
OnCore Golf continues to push the design envelope of conforming balls meeting the USGA’s limits on maximum initial velocity and overall distance while delivering their proprietary high moment of inertia (MOI) that pushes mass to the perimeter of the golf ball resulting in a more forgiving ball with straighter ball flight and reduced spin decay for greater distance. Golf Digest named the VERO X2 to its annual Hot List in June 2022.
For more information or to purchase the VERO X2 ($50 per dozen MSRP), visit http://www.oncoregolf.com/products/vero-x2/.
PING Advances Popular i Series with New i230 Irons and iCrossover
(PHOENIX) — With a focus on golfers in search of new technology engineered to deliver precise control and consistency, PING introduced the i230 irons and iCrossover today. The newest entries into PING’s popular “i” series are now available for custom fittings at authorized PING retailers around the world.
“The new i230 irons and iCrossovers are for avid players who want to get better,” said John K. Solheim, PING CEO & President. “In the i230 iron, we’ve engineered a lot of performance into one design. It has the precise control and consistency of a players iron with an amazing feel while offering the forgiveness of a game improvement iron. It reminds me a lot of the iconic PING EYE2 iron in that it will appeal to so many player types, from the tour pros to everyday golfers. It’s really packed with performance.
“We’ve re-branded our Crossover category into the ‘i’ family to target golfers who most likely play one of our blade-style irons. The tour-inspired head size and sole design along with higher ball speeds help it to transition more seamlessly as a long-iron alternative. We’ve also added hosel adjustability, a highly beneficial innovation allowing golfers to dial in their trajectories for the first time in an iron-style design. We believe this re-design will greatly improve its appeal and find its way into a lot more bags on tour and other competitive settings.”
i230: A Players Iron Everyone Can Play
Advancements to the activated elastomer technology in the i230 iron allowed PING engineers to save significant weight, which is re-allocated within the clubhead to position the center of gravity (CG) low for more distance and control while increasing the moment of inertia (MOI) for added forgiveness. The low CG combines with greater face bending to deliver higher ball speeds. The elastomer reinforces the face, providing more consistent bending and energy transfer across the entire face, resulting in approximately three more yards of distance in player testing. Its higher MOI is largely due to tungsten toe and tip weights, which help make it the most forgiving “i” iron to date.
“The i230 iron sits in the middle of our iron offerings, so it requires us to balance a variety of performance attributes,” Solheim said. “It needs the precision and solid feel of a players iron while offering the forgiveness a lot of golfers expect from a PING iron. We also want to provide more distance in a way that is predictable and repeatable to ensure it meets the precise gapping needs of the best players in the world. I’m excited to report our research and early tour feedback confirms we’ve achieved all that and more. It has a little bit of everything to deliver a lot of performance.”
Pleasing Impact Experience
Through extensive modal analysis, PING researchers isolated undesirable frequencies within the clubhead and precisely positioned a re-engineered cavity badge to damp their effect to ensure a pleasing feel and sound. The four-piece badge combines a thin 304 stainless steel cap with an injection-molded thermoplastic that is secured to the cavity with high-strength adhesive. The activated elastomer supports the face and sits in a toaster-style pocket, which is concealed behind the multi-material badge, creating a clean and appealing cavity design.
“Feel is one of the most important attributes in a players iron,” said Solheim. “Golfers who rely on precise iron play require exceptional feel to control their ball flight. The i230 iron is engineered to provide consistent feel from every club in the set. The soft elastomer and the cavity badge work in concert to ensure they not only feel great, but they sound even better.”
Tour Proven
The long irons (3-5) are slightly more compact than the tour-proven i210, producing more consistent clubface delivery and accuracy, while the rest of the set is designed with similar blade lengths. The sole design is also similar, with a rounded lead edge and ample bounce to promote smooth turf interaction for clean and solid strikes. The precision-milled MicroMax grooves deliver consistent launch and spin results for more accuracy in the long irons and greater control in the short irons and wedges, especially in wet or grassy conditions where the grooves and hydropearl 2.0 chrome finish help ensure lower launch angles with high spin rates.
“Meeting the needs of our tour pros, who have already won with it, is an important element of the i230 iron,” Solheim said. “Their validation of this design goes a long way in giving golfers the confidence that they can also benefit from its technology. The changes to the blade lengths and shaping are very subtle but are designed to improve the playability and the accuracy of the entire set, especially the long irons. They inspire a lot of confidence when you look at them in the address position.”

A Players Crossover
The iCrossover is engineered for high-swing-speed players looking for long-iron alternatives (2XR, 3XR, 4XR) that fit seamlessly into their set while delivering increased ball speeds for more distance with higher launch. The sources of the high ball speed are the thin, maraging steel face and lower CG position, which is closer to the impact location to produce more energy transfer. The face is robotically welded to the 17-4 stainless steel body with a lower-hinged bend point to provide higher launch for better stopping power. A smaller internal cavity with targeted EVA polymer on the back of the face ensures a pleasing feel and sound.Tour-Inspired
With similar sole shaping, including the rounded lead edge and ample bounce, the iCrossover seamlessly fits into an i230 iron set in place of long irons. The blade lengths are slightly shorter with less offset than previous crossover generations, making it more compact while providing a tour-style appearance. The standard shaft length builds also are approximately one-quarter inch shorter than the previous models to transition into a set more easily, providing more control and tighter dispersion patterns with similar distance. The precision-milled MicroMax grooves and matte-black hydropearl 2.0 finish deliver consistent launch and spin results for more accuracy.
New Trajectory Tuning 2.0
A first in an iron-style design, the adjustable hosel provides eight settings for loft and lie to help dial in a golfer’s desired ball flight. The lightweight hosel is clearly marked to allow for quick and easy adjustments, with a range of ±1.5° loft and lie in various combinations. The standard setting is the stated loft of the club at 1.5° upright.
“We looked closely at our fitting and Arccos data and discovered the vast majority of our crossover users were better players who use one of our blade irons,” Solheim said. “So, we shifted our focus to engineering a crossover that better fit the needs of that type of player. The iCrossover performance results have been exceptional. Its shape looks great, the ball speeds are higher, and it sounds very powerful. The addition of the adjustable hosel is a huge benefit to help players at that level dial in their ball flight.”

BIG MAX Pushing for Sustainability
(RELEASE) — In a market dominated by golfers who prefer to walk, the title of Europe’s #1 push cart and golf bag brand is something that BIG MAX is rightfully proud of. Having held the #1 spot for push carts for almost 30 Years, this has become the benchmark for success in the business, however, founder of BIG MAX Thomas Reiter has recently shifted the brand’s definition of success to create a legacy that shows market leadership in more than one way. He explains.
“I’m incredibly proud of everything we have achieved with BIG MAX. From an idea in 1994 for a 3 wheel push cart we have created arguably the biggest push cart and golf bag brand in the world. All from Austria, where we are not known for world leading golf brands! We now have manufacturing facilities and distribution networks all over the world but with that growth and success comes an inevitable environmental impact which I believe we have a duty to recognize and address.”
“When you start as a manufacturer, the primary focus is how you buy and use resources in the most cost-efficient way, but as a market leader I feel a responsibility to lead, and that means showing that you can minimize your environmental impact while innovating and making a profit.”Innovation is at the heart of all BIG MAX products, and that ethos has now spread to the manufacturing processes themselves. This is perhaps best shown in the brand’s recent switch to a new system for powder coating all of its push and electric carts. Thomas continues.
“Last year we decided to remove the use of solvents from the finish of our carts. You need to take a lot of care when using and disposing of solvents, and the reality is that even if you dispose of them safely, they are still a pollutant. So we decided to create a solution that gave a strong protective finish without any solvents. Our engineers have developed a powder coating treatment that means we don’t buy any solvents, don’t have to pay for disposal and the factory workers don’t have to use hazardous materials. We have actually created a more environmentally sound, safer and less expensive method for producing a great finish on the carts.”
This ethos of innovating to create more sustainable practices is driving changes throughout the BIG MAX business. And with an initial investment in R&D, many of the practices are producing solutions with multiple benefits.
“Because we are manufacturing in large numbers, we can choose factories that share our vision for sustainability and invest in businesses that want to minimize their environmental impact. I see this again as part of leading. If we can show that manufacturing can be done in a cost effective and sustainable way, then other factories and brands will inevitably follow suit.”
“We have worked with one factory in Vietnam for 28 years, and we have grown together with a shared vision for sustainability based around the idea of “Reduce, Reuse and Recycle”. We have reduced our energy consumption by fitting 423,538 square feet of solar panels to run our machines. This number of panels also reduces the temperature inside the factory by 6 to 10 degrees (Fahrenheit) making for a better working environment and reducing the need for any air conditioning. We collect rainwater from the factory roof into 1.58 million gallon water tanks, using it across the factory and for watering the trees and flowers. We have reduced the number of welds in every cart and use robots in the process to improve efficiency as the by-products of welding causes air pollution. We recycle all waste plastic and putting it back into our supply chain, making sure none is wasted. And all of our trolley packaging now comes with zero plastic and all non-essential plastic is removed from packaging across the whole business.”
“One of my favourite innovations is the use of re-cycled plastics to create a protective cover for our Aqua golf bags. Once you Take the cover off the bag, you turn it upside down and it becomes a clothing carrier. I love this because it uses recycled plastics, it reduces our plastic use where the Aqua bags used to arrive in plastic covers, and it re-uses a part of our packaging for another purpose. To get all 3 R’s is fantastic!”
In addition to the developments in manufacturing practices BIG MAX has recently announced an ambitious environmental initiative called Trees for Trolleys with the Jane Goodall Institute. As part of the launch of its 2022 line of electric trolleys, BIG MAX has committed to the reforestation of tropical Ugandan forests by planting a tree for every electric trolley it produces. In addition, BIG MAX will help fund projects that promote awareness in local Ugandan communities of the environmental importance of re-forested areas, train forest rangers to monitor and protect the forest, and promote ongoing research into the local eco-system.
“For us, being market leaders means a lot more than just sales. If we can lead the way in creating business practices and manufacturing processes that reduce impact on the environment, then we are being successful. I know that I speak from a privileged position of having had a lot of traditional ‘success’ but that is why we can show the way to others. We have invested in these processes, but we are now showing that sustainability and business success are compatible. In many cases we are actually reducing our costs. To be able to make these changes at BIG MAX makes me very proud. My aim now is to keep innovating so that we can truly say that we are ‘successful’ in all areas of the business.”

GOLF+ Partners with the Leading Names in Sports to Fund Revolutionary VR Golf Experience
Rory McIlroy, Jordan Spieth, Tom Brady, Stephen Curry, Mike Trout and More Among the Stars Ushering Golf into the Future
(AUSTIN, TX.) — GOLF+ – the leading VR golf application on the market – has secured investments from some of the biggest names on the PGA Tour, NFL, NBA, and MLB to propel its revolutionary platform forward and fulfill the company’s vision of making golf more accessible for everyone.
Led by Breyer Capital, the star-studded list of investors includes Rory McIlroy, Jordan Spieth, Tom Brady, Stephen Curry, Mike Trout, and Ben Crenshaw. These individuals recognize that GOLF+ has created a new pathway to enjoy the sport that is appealing to players of all levels, and an onramp to grow the game globally. Other investors include financier Jimmy Dunne, 1800contacts Founder Jonathan Coon, former IBM CEO Sam Palmisano, Pennybacker Capital Founder/CEO Tim Berry, Kendra Scott CEO Tom Nolan, Silicon Labs Founder Nav Sooch, Stephen Curry’s production company Unanimous Media, BoostVC, and Capital Factory.
Designed to be complementary to traditional golf, the GOLF+ VR experience removes typical barriers such as time restraints, greens fees and weather to allow users to play anywhere, anytime. For those who have never picked up a club in the real world, it offers a stress-free way to learn, play and practice at their own pace. Avid golfers can enjoy realistic physics and life-like replications of the most iconic courses in the world. In less than a year since launch, the platform’s hundreds of thousands of golfers have played over six million rounds on the platform.
“GOLF+ has the potential to bring the game that I love to millions of households worldwide,” says Rory McIlroy. “The platform makes the sport so much more accessible to new audiences while also additive to experienced green grass golfers. This fun, immersive experience brings golf into the virtual era, and I believe it will have a positive impact on the game of golf.”
Jim Breyer, who led Facebook’s first institutional funding round in 2005, added that “virtual and augmented reality hardware should progress dramatically over the next 5-10 years, and I believe that GOLF+ will build upon their market-leading position. From the first moment that I met the GOLF+ team, I knew that they had both the technical expertise and passion for golf to bring the sport into the metaverse.”
Co-Founders Ryan Engle and Rob Holzhauer fell in love with golf at a young age. Their goal since day one has been to create a platform where golfers can come together in a virtual environment and compete, socialize, and have fun, just as they would in the real world.
“I feel so fortunate to have discovered golf at an early age – it excites me that so many younger and first-time golfers are discovering the game in VR,” says Jordan Spieth. “Once they experience their first great shot, or compete with friends, these new players get a taste of what makes golf so special.”
GOLF+ has evolved substantially over the past few years. The company originally launched an augmented reality putting app on the iPhone App Store in 2018, before launching a VR putting game called Pro Putt and a VR Topgolf venue in 2020. Committed to representing all aspects of golf, the company added full course play in late 2021 and became GOLF+. In the first ten months of full course play, more than 500 million shots have been hit by GOLF+ players.
“We’ve spent countless hours honing the GOLF+ experience to be as close to the real sport as possible, but it’s not an alternative or replacement to traditional golf,” says Engle, GOLF+ Co-Founder and CEO. “It’s a new way to experience the game and our goal with GOLF+ is to bring golf into the lives of as many people as possible.”
GOLF+ is currently available on the Meta Quest 2 platform for $29.99. The game comes standard with Valhalla Golf Club, host of the PGA Championship and Ryder Cup, as well as three other fictional course designs. Users can add the famed Ocean Course at Kiawah Island and Wolf Creek Golf Club for just $7.99. The Pro Putt mini-golf game and virtual Topgolf hangout are also available free of charge. GOLF+ allows for both single-player and multiplayer options, making it ideal for solo practice or a social round.

Canterbury Golf Club to Host Three USGA Amateur Championships
USGA returns to Cleveland, Ohio, for 2027 U.S. Girls’ Junior, 2033 U.S. Senior Amateur and 2039 U.S. Women’s Amateur
(LIBERTY CORNER, N.J.) — The United States Golf Association (USGA) announced on Monday that Canterbury Golf Club, in Cleveland, Ohio, will be the host site for the 2027 U.S. Girls’ Junior, 2033 U.S. Senior Amateur and 2039 U.S. Women’s Amateur Championships. The club has previously hosted five USGA championships, including two U.S. Opens.
“We are thrilled to return to Canterbury Golf Club to conduct these three USGA championships,” said Mark Hill, USGA senior managing director, championships. “The USGA is excited to restore our relationship with this historic club and its enthusiastic golf community on such a fantastic layout. We know the club and its membership will provide an exceptional experience for our players as they compete for these coveted titles.”
These will be the sixth, seventh and eighth USGA championships held at Canterbury Golf Club, which last hosted the 1996 U.S. Senior Open, captured by Dave Stockton, who held off a hard-charging Hale Irwin to win by two strokes. The club also hosted the 1979 U.S. Amateur (won by Mark O’Meara), the 1964 U.S. Amateur (won by William Campbell), the 1946 U.S. Open (won by Lloyd Mangrum) and the 1940 U.S. Open (won by Lawson Little).
Canterbury Golf Club has also hosted the 1973 PGA Championship (won by Jack Nicklaus), four Senior Tournament Players Championships (1983-1986) and, most recently, the 2009 Senior PGA Championship (won by Michael Allen).
“Canterbury Golf Club is proud to continue its tradition of hosting national championships,” said Tim Cercelle, club president. “As we reengage our relationship with the USGA, it’s an honor to showcase our golf course to the world and play host to these prestigious championships that truly embody the spirit of the amateur game and support the next generation of golfers.”
Canterbury Golf Club’s 18-hole golf course was designed by Herbert Strong, who was a founding member of the PGA of America. It was routed to utilize the area’s natural topography, resulting in a demanding course with a wide variety of holes.
The 2027 U.S. Girls’ Junior will be the 42nd championship held in Ohio, and the second of the 2027 season, following the U.S. Women’s Open Presented by ProMedica at Inverness Club, in Toledo. The most recent championship in Ohio was the 2022 U.S. Senior Women’s Open at NCR Country Club, in Kettering. The 2029 U.S. Amateur Championship is also scheduled to be played at Inverness Club. The last USGA championship held in northeast Ohio was the 2012 U.S. Women’s Amateur, won by 15-year-old and future world No. 1 Lydia Ko at The Country Club in Cleveland.

Daytona Beach Golf Courses Reopen Following Recovery From Hurricane Ian
LPGA Jones Course
(DAYTONA BEACH, Fla.) – With clean up from Hurricane Ian well underway, the Daytona Beach Area continues to bounce back, including the area’s acclaimed golf courses, which are welcoming players for the popular fall season.
Home to nearly 20 courses, including LPGA International and a pair of Donald Ross designs, Daytona Beach is one of Central Florida’s most popular golf destinations, delivering the type of quality, value and good times group leaders relish.
Hurricane Ian brought high winds and rain, leaving golf courses to clean up debris and downed trees but largely avoiding any structural damage. Most of Daytona Beach’s courses reopened just days after the storm and now layouts across the area are hosting players with typically outstanding conditions.
“We are delighted to welcome golfers back to Daytona Beach,” said Lori Campbell-Baker, Executive Director for the Daytona Beach Area CVB. “Area golf courses were fortunate to avoid long-term damage, and players can look forward to their favorite Daytona Beach area courses being in prime condition on their next trip to the area.”
With an average high temperature of 76 degrees in November, 71 in December and 69 in January, Daytona Beach is an idyllic winter golf destination.
Among Daytona Beach’s most prominent layouts are the Hills and Jones courses at LPGA International and Victoria Hills, a Ron Garl design that has been ranked among Florida’s best public courses. Ross designs New Smyrna Golf Club and the South Course at Daytona Beach Golf Club join historic Riviera Country Club as members of the Florida Historic Golf Trail.
The area complements its golf offerings with an array of restaurants and nightlife that guarantee a good time long after the final putt drops. Daytona Beach also features an assortment of accommodations, highlighted by luxury oceanfront condos that serve as the perfect base for a golf trip.

SkyGolf features a line of award-winning SkyCaddie SX550 and SX400 rangefinders, the new LX2 smart watch and the LX5 and LX5 with ceramic bezel smart watches. All SkyCaddie devices are preloaded with over 35,000 best-in-class courses and feature Wi-Fi connectivity to streamline application updates and getting the latest course updates without connecting to a computer.
The large HD displays of the SX rangefinders, combined with HD quality course graphics, only available from SkyCaddie, provide the best view of the most-reliable information in the game to allow you to play your best golf. Unlike other rangefinders, which rely on satellite imagery that is often outdated and unreliable, only SkyCaddie walks the course to capture accurate and verifiable data to provide you with distances you can trust.
The SX550 and SX400 rangefinders include a host of patented technology and stroke-saving features developed by SkyCaddie to help its customers make better decisions on the golf course.
All rangefinders in the SX family feature the new Dynamic HoleVue™ with IntelliPath Technology that provides the distance to target as well as every other relevant attribute of the course, along and beyond your target line, without aiming a laser. So, now without wasting time to make multiple measurements, such as with a laser, you get distances instantly to all intervening hazards, end of fairways and other shot saving information in an instant to allow you to play like a pro and make the right club selection.
SkyCaddie’s new and patented Dynamic HoleVue™ feature rotates the fairway and orients the green from your current position and angle of attack as you move from the tee to the green. Now, you see everything between you and the green instantly without touching a button and get the distances you need to avoid hazards and play your best golf. So, in addition to SkyCaddie’s patented IntelliGreen® technology, golfers can now see the entire hole from their point-of-view.
With SkyCaddie’s patented IntelliGreen® technology, the exact shape of the green automatically rotates to match your angle of approach to provide all of the distances you need to hit more greens and avoid 3-putts. This proprietary feature gives you a chance to turn every shot into a scoring opportunity by providing front carry and back distances, depth of green, and distances to any other point on the green — simultaneously.
SkyCaddie PinPoint® technology will obsolete lasers by providing the ability to get distances to the pin while getting all the benefits of IntelliGreen. Simply enter pin sheet or zone information into the SkyCaddie® SX550 or SX400 to get distances to the hole, front, center and back PLUS the depth and true shape green... AND all of this information is on one screen that changes automatically based on your current position and angle of approach from anywhere on the course…whether you can see the flag or not. With the SX Series, you get more information, from more places, easier and faster and without aiming!
A new Shot Tracking feature allows you to track each shot you play, which clubs you used, how far you hit them, and where you hit them from. In addition, an array of automated features such as Auto-Course Selection, Auto-Hole Advance and Auto-Zoom, make the SX rangefinders basically "touch-free" from the parking lot to the 19th hole.
More features include: IntelliGreen® Pro that adds the ability to display major tiers, contours, false fronts, and mounds from your angle of approach to the green on selective courses; Shot Distance Measurement to help track how far the ball goes and help golfers to learn club distances; Target List View to give a quick list of all the targets ahead of on the hole; digital scoring options for Stroke and Stableford with handicapping; and Tee Box Selection, Gender Selection, Dual Green Support with a yards or meters option, Stat Tracking and a North Indicator.
Using the same next generation technology found in the SX family of rangefinders, the SkyCaddie LX2, LX5 and LX5C GPS smart watches include most of the dynamic features that golfers rave about in the SX550 and SX400 handhelds, giving golfers the most accurate information conveniently located on their wrist.
Simple wireless connectivity allows for the collection and storage of critical performance data in the SkyGolf 360 Cloud Service, making it available instantly to the user, instructors, or friends.
