Moonlight Basin’s New LakeLodge Offers Contemporary Mountain Living in Big Sky, Montana

(BIG SKY, Mont.) — Moonlight Basin, a luxury residential community at the base of Lone Peak, in the winter and summer resort community of Big Sky, Montana, will open a contemporary new lodge in 2021 with a wide variety of member amenities and 16 residences.

Set amid some of Montana’s finest scenery, LakeLodge continues the contemporary styling of Moonlight’s new neighborhood of cabins and townhomes surrounding Ulery’s Lake. The lodge will be a place to dine, play, swim, head out on the trails, go skiing, take in the views and plan adventures, all while calling it home.

The residences range from studios to five-bedroom penthouses that feature contemporary styling inside, while feeling at home with the mountain environment outside. Residences are priced from $775,000 for studios up to $4.5 million for five-bedroom penthouses.

“LakeLodge will be a spectacular addition to the Moonlight community and will further enhance the unique experience of Ulery’s Lake,” said Mike Wilcynski, General Manager at Moonlight Basin. “The lodge is in an absolutely beautiful setting and brings together a variety of amenities for members to enjoy – from dining to shopping, fitness, recreation and a central location for many community events. LakeLodge offers the best of summer and winter living at Moonlight.”

Encircled by mountain views of the greater Yellowstone area, the 59,000-square-foot LakeLodge and its residences will offer comfort, style and convenience. The lodge will include Moonlight’s new Three Forks Tapas Restaurant and Bar; a new, expanded retail shop; a new home for Moonlight Outfitters gear rental and guided trips; a Fitness Center for cardio, circuit and strength training; an indoor 3-point basketball court; an indoor climbing wall; a Kids Club; a 3,000-square-foot outdoor pool with lap lanes and slide; two outdoor hot tubs; and 16 residences.

The lodge is just a short walk from everything to see and do at Ulery’s Lake, including kayaking and fly fishing, a ropes course, a private trail network, snow tubing, special member events and more. A new ski lift will link the lodge directly to the expansive terrain of Big Sky Resort.

“Our goal was to create an indoor and outdoor gathering place with quiet, timeless architecture; a place that brings people together while being deeply respectful of the natural setting,” said John Cottle of CCY Architects. “Built below the treetops, the lodge essentially hides in the woods. It will be a wonderful place to enjoy the company of others, as well as to live.”

The 16 residences offer a wide range of floor plans, from 500-square-foot studios to 2,700-plus-square-foot, five-bedroom penthouses. Their contemporary design features large windows and open-concept living, dining, and kitchen areas. Furnishing packages have been carefully selected to reflect LakeLodge’s architectural vision, and decks on most residences allow the outdoors to blend seamlessly with the indoors.

Additional features of the residences include:
· Ski-in/ski-out access.
· Ski lockers and gear storage.
· Two furnishing package options.
· Gas fireplaces.
· Covered parking: Two spaces for penthouses, one for all other units.
· Exceptional mountain and forest views.
· Direct access to all lodge amenities.
