Lamkin in Winner's Bag at Barracuda

(SAN DIEGO) — Lamkin Grips, the innovation leader in golf grip manufacturing, would like to congratulate the winner of the Barracuda Championship on his impressive victory this weekend.

Equipped with Lamkin EBL Smooth Pistol Grip on his flat-stick, the winner took the title by three points after birdieing four of his last five holes in the stableford format competition. His immaculate stroke making and increasingly consistent putting helped him to record his third consecutive Top four finish and his maiden PGA Tour victory in just his sixth start.

The Lamkin EBL Smooth Pistol Grip putter grip as used by the winner is named in honor of Lamkin’s founder, Elver. B. Lamkin. Available as a custom Tour option, the grip combines a smooth finish for increased shot feedback and comfortable touch with a traditional Pistol shape that promotes correct hand positioning and a smooth putting stroke.

With this victory, Lamkin adds another title to its honors board and cements its reputation as a grip that both club golfers and the best players in the world can rely on every round.

Adare Manor to Host 2026 Ryder Cup

Iconic match between Europe and USA heads back to Ireland

(Adare Manor, Co. Limerick, Ireland) — Irish golf is set for an extended spell in the golfing spotlight following Shane Lowry’s Open Championship victory, with the announcement of Adare Manor as host venue for the 2026 Ryder Cup. Since reopening in April 2018 on completion of a two-year reconstruction commissioned by its owners, the McManus family, The Golf Course at Adare Manor has been propelled to global recognition by a host of well-wishers.

The property has been an immediate hit with industry figureheads and top players alike, each rich in praise for the Tom Fazio design and, in particular, its pristine condition. In its first eighteen months of operation, Adare Manor has collected numerous global accolades, capped off with today’s confirmation of its Ryder Cup host venue status.

“I am delighted that the prestigious Ryder Cup will return to Ireland,” said JP McManus, owner of Adare Manor. “Noreen and I are very happy that Adare Manor was chosen as the venue for this world-renowned tournament in 2026 and we look forward to welcoming our worldwide visitors.

“It is a wonderful tribute to the many great Irish golf ambassadors and success stories Ireland has had in golf over the years and a nice follow on from Shane’s momentous Open win on Sunday in Portrush.  The nation was behind Shane, it was a great achievement and very well deserved.

“I am confident that the people of Ireland will get behind The Ryder Cup and take the opportunity to showcase Ireland on the world stage and ensure that the 2026 Ryder Cup will be an outstanding success.  I hope the many tourist, golfing and business organisations will work together to identify all the opportunities for the benefit of The Ryder Cup tournament, the Irish economy and across the south west community.”

The announcement was made today by Ryder Cup Europe, which unveiled its partnership with the Irish Government and described the positive economic outcomes The Ryder Cup will yield by amplifying Ireland’s distinct golf tourism offering. Hot on the heels of the return of The Open Championship to the island of Ireland, and the extraordinary achievement of national hero, Lowry, the exceptional feats of golf in the region show no signs of abating.

“Adare Manor is a world-class venue, both in terms of the golf course and the wider resort facilities,” commented Guy Kinnings, European Ryder Cup Director. “We could not be happier to be able to take golf’s greatest team contest back to Ireland and are delighted that Adare Manor will be the venue to showcase the next chapter in Ireland’s Ryder Cup story in seven years’ time.”

Adare Manor is already familiar to some of the world’s best players. The 2020 Ryder Cup Captain, Padraig Harrington, was consulted on the design of the golf course, providing player insights to Tom Fazio and his team. To celebrate its re-opening in April 2018, Lowry and Harrington were joined by four-time Major Champion, Rory McIlroy, and former Ryder Cup Captain, Paul McGinley, for a charity exhibition match. In addition, The JP McManus Pro-Am, the most illustrious event of its kind, has visited Adare Manor on two occasions and will welcome a star-studded cast from both sides of the pond, including Tiger Woods, John Rahm, Justin Rose, Dustin Johnson and Phil Mickelson in July 2020; an opportunity for Ryder Cup hopefuls of the future to get to know the golf course.

Mr Colm Hannon, Adare Manor CEO, said: “We could not be more honoured to be successful in bringing The Ryder Cup back to Ireland and to Adare Manor. Today’s announcement is extremely humbling for all of us and my heartfelt thanks and gratitude go out to all of those who have played their part in the Adare Manor story so far.”

Kapalua Golf's Plantation Course Growing Closer To November Reopening

(Maui, Hawaii) – Work and grow-in continue on Kapalua Golf’s Plantation Course ahead of the award-winning course’s scheduled reopening in November 2019. Home of the PGA TOUR’s Sentry Tournament of Champions and one of the top 100 golf courses in the world, the Plantation Course closed in February to undergo a multi-million dollar enhancement project aimed at refining and revitalizing the 28-year-old golf course. The project is being led by Bill Coore and Ben Crenshaw; Troon’s Design, Development and Agronomy team; as well as long-time Maui resident and Golf Channel personality Mark Rolfing.

As of mid-July, course shaping and the installation of irrigation equipment have been completed. All 107 acres have been grassed with Celebration bermudagrass, with 15 of the 18 fairways being mown daily. All 18 greens are growing-in with TifEagle bermudagrass and are also being cut daily. A capillary concrete liner system has been installed in all 92 course bunkers, allowing the bunkers to better weather heavy rain events. Sand has been added and spread into bunkers on 14 of the 18 holes. The Plantation Course’s practice green and chipping green areas have also been rebuilt and TifEagle bermudagrass is currently growing-in. The practice range tee area has been laser leveled and was recently sprigged with Celebration bermudagrass. Crews are now installing new concrete cart paths throughout the course.

In addition to on-course work, the Plantation Course golf shop closed on July 29th for clubhouse enhancements and the Plantation House Restaurant (also located in the Plantation Course clubhouse) will be open for dinner service only through the end of August. On August 31st, the Plantation House Restaurant and clubhouse will close for refinements. The entire Plantation Course clubhouse, including the golf shop and restaurant, will reopen in November 2019.

“We’re excited by the progress and about the enhancements on the Plantation Course,” said Alex Nakajima, general manager, Kapalua Golf & Tennis. “We remain on schedule for a soft opening of the golf course in November, with the course in pristine condition by The Sentry Tournament of Champions in January.”

Playing the dramatic, eco-sensitive golf layout, then staying in one of the exquisite Casitas (each with a private pool and ocean view), is an unforgettable golf getaway experience.

Thirty minutes southwest lies Punta Borinquen, a highly affordable community course with ocean views from all 18 holes. While everything about the course is modest – from conditions to green fees – the design, setting, and people ensure you’ll be glad you sought out this special place.

NOERDEN Introduces LIZ Self-Cleaning Smart Bottle with Hydration Reminders

Featuring UV Sterilization, Next-Gen Smart Bottle Helps Users Live a Healthier, Active Lifestyle; Indiegogo Campaign Launches to Fund Product’s Final Development

(Paris, France) – NOERDEN today introduced LIZ Smart Bottle. A next-gen self-cleaning smart bottle with UV sterilization & hydration reminders, LIZ helps users live a healthier, active lifestyle by providing them with clean drinking water and reminders to stay hydrated. The Indiegogo Campaign, which launches today with a funding goal of $20,000 USD, features limited Early Bird specials of $49, as well as several other rewards for backers.

Featuring a touch responsive smart lid with a built-in UV-C light, LIZ Smart Bottle destroys up to 99.9% of harmful viruses and odor-causing bacteria. Users will simply need to tap the lid twice to start the sterilization process, which sends the UV-C light through the empty bottle or through the water in the bottle to destroy bacteria and viruses by breaking down their DNA.  The LED indicator will stop flashing when the sterilization is complete.  By sterilizing the bottle and the water, LIZ Smart Bottle allows users to drink clean!

LIZ Smart Bottle keeps users’ favorite beverages hot (up to 12 hours) or cold (up to 24 hours) and will remind them to drink every 2 hours thanks to its smart hydration reminders. The touch responsive smart lid can also indicate the temperature range of the beverage inside. By tapping once on the smart lid, the LED will blink in the color corresponding to the beverage’s temperature range: blue for cold, yellow for warm or red for hot.

“Water makes up 60% of bodies and 85% of people’s brains,” said Christophe Cermolacce , Founder and General Manager at NOERDEN. “Even a 2% drop in our hydration level can cause immediate physical tiredness and loss of concentration. A healthy adult requires 1.5-2L of water per day, but in fact 75% of people suffer from dehydration. With LIZ’s smart hydration reminders, users are reminded every 2 hours to drink.”

Available in 2 sizes (16oz and 12oz) and a variety of colors (small bottles: white, blue and pink / large bottles: black, white and red), LIZ Smart Bottle delivers a great user experience in a lightweight, elegantly designed bottle built from durable materials (vacuum insulated surgical grade stainless steel and a Tritan anti-leak lid made of food-grade BPA-free plastic), making it the perfect reusable solution to stay hydrated on the go.

Other features include:
- Lightweight and easy to carry
- Sustainable certifications such as RoHS and CE for being heavy metal-free and environmentally friendly
- Anti-slip grip and carabiner
- Fits standard cup holder
- Dishwasher safe

Ken Duke Posts Top 10 Finish Using a Sacks Parente Series 66i Tour Prototype Putter

(CAMARILLO, Calif.) – Sacks Parente Golf Company, builders of exceptional putters that defy convention, announced that Ken Duke used a Sacks Parente Tour Prototype Series 66i putter to finish tied for 10th in his first Senior Open Championship.

Ken Duke and his Sacks Parente Putter
Ken is playing a tour prototype model Series 66i, which is a cavity back blade putter featuring the company’s patented Ultra-Low Balance Point (ULBP) technology. This particular putter has an extremely high moment of inertia attained by putting over 100 grams of tungsten in the extreme heel and toe. Since putting the putter in play in late March, Ken has had two top ten finishes and has moved to #3 in Overall Putting Average and #3 in 3-Putt Avoidance on the PGA TOUR Champions.

“This putter really helps you feel the ball when it comes off the face,” commented Duke. “There’s no bouncing, rolling end over end the second you hit it. It’s really nice. I’m thrilled to have finally found a putter that feels great and gives me a tremendous amount of confidence every time I stand over a putt.”

All Sacks Parente putter designs feature ULBP technology that lowers the balance point along the shaft between the sole and a point not more than 5 inches above the sole, causing the putter head to square and release at impact, delivering exceptional rollout and accuracy. In addition, all Sacks Parente putters maximize MOI by combining the use of ultra-light weight alloys and high-density tungsten, to significantly move more weight from the center of the putter to the heel and toe. The company has numerous patents and patents pending in regard to the science associated with these exceptional putters.

“We congratulate Ken on his finish at the Senior Open Championship,” said Rich Parente, Co-Founder of Sacks Parente Golf. “His putting is consistently improving, proving that our ULBP technology works! We are honored to have a player of his caliber on our team, helping us refine the Series 66i putter, which will be released in the near future. I’m more excited about our Sacks Parente technology than any other technology I’ve been involved with, including Callaway.”

Introducing the New Titleist TS Hybrids – Scoring Clubs with Titleist Speed

New TS2 and TS3 Models Deliver Faster Ball Speed with High Launch, Lower Spin and Increased MOI for More Playable Distance

(FAIRHAVEN, Mass.) – Born from the Titleist Speed Project, the new Titleist TS hybrids represent a new standard in hybrid performance – combining the explosive speed and distance of TS metalwoods with the advanced technology that has made Titleist the most played hybrids on the PGA Tour.

For dedicated golfers – and Titleist Golf Club R&D engineers – hybrids are considered scoring clubs, not rescue clubs. The new TS2 and TS3 hybrids, benefitting from the innovations of the Titleist Speed Chassis, allow players to replace their long irons with even more speed, launch and precision:
• The tremendously forgiving TS2 hybrids maximize performance for players who have a sweeping delivery to the ball – delivering high launch and easy distance. The larger profile is designed for players who prefer the look of a fairway metal.
• The fast-launching TS3 hybrids produce outstanding distance and control for players who hit down on the ball – offering mid launch, precise distance and iron-like control. The compact, square toe shape is designed for players who want more of an iron look.

“Pretty much every golfer we’ve had test a TS hybrid has had the same reaction – these things just go,” said Josh Talge, Vice President, Titleist Golf Club Marketing. “When it comes to the world of golf clubs, hybrids don’t always generate the type of excitement you see with other categories. But with TS hybrids, our R&D team has developed a hybrid that players will start thinking about as their go-to club. A club they just can’t wait to hit.”

FREE TRIAL & FITTINGS
Beginning Aug. 8, golfers can experience the speed of Titleist TS hybrids by attending a Titleist Fitting and Trial event (including Titleist Thursdays) being held at hundreds of locations nationwide. To find an event, or book a free fitting with a Titleist Product Specialist, golfers should visit https://www.titleist.com/fitting/appointments.

TS hybrids are available in golf shops worldwide beginning Aug. 30.

TS HYBRID PERFORMANCE & TECHNOLOGY
The improved performance of TS hybrids is driven by the innovative Titleist Speed Chassis, featuring technologies originally developed for TS drivers and fairways and now optimized for each hybrid shape:
• Thinner, faster face. The fastest hybrid face Titleist has ever made (16 percent thinner than prior generation 818 hybrids) – delivers faster ball speeds and increased forgiveness.
• Optimized Weight Distribution. Refined crown and face thicknesses create a lower CG for higher launch and lower spin. The resulting MOI is up to 10 percent higher on average than 818, creating a powerful combination of speed and stability.

“Titleist hybrids were already by far the industry leader for hybrid performance, speed and distance – and now we’ve taken that to another level with these TS models,” said Stephanie Luttrell, Director, Metalwoods Development, Titleist Golf Club R&D. “By taking everything we learned in developing TS drivers and fairways and implementing those technologies into our hybrid platform, we’ve been able to improve our speed and distance performance while maintaining the incredible playability that makes these hybrids scoring clubs – that easy, consistent distance that launches high and lands soft, closer to the hole.”

TWO WAYS TO SPEED
Like their driver and fairway counterparts, TS hybrids bring more speed to golfers through two distinct designs. The new TS2 is a scoring club built for distance with maximum forgiveness across the face, while TS3 offers outstanding distance with shot-shape customization through the adjustable Magnetic SureFit CG. Both models feature Titleist’s patented SureFit hosel with 16 independent loft and lie settings to create a more consistent and optimized ball flight through precision fitting.

• Loft Options: TS2 – 17º (RH Only), 19º, 21º, 23º, 25º, 27º | TS3 – 19º, 21º, 23º, 25º.

PREMIUM STOCK SHAFTS
The TS stock shaft lineup extends to TS hybrids with four aftermarket models – KURO KAGE Dual Core Black 60 (High launch and moderate spin), TENSEI AV Series Blue 70 (Mid launch and spin), HZRDUS Smoke Black 80 (Low/mid launch and spin) and Even Flow T1100 White 90 (Low launch and spin) – developed by the game’s top shaft manufacturers using insights from Titleist’s industry-best motion capture and consumer testing.

In addition, Titleist offers an industry-leading number of custom shaft choices.

TS HYBRIDS ON TOUR
TS hybrids made their PGA Tour debut at the Memorial Tournament, where Charley Hoffman (TS3 17º) and Robert Streb (TS3 21º) were among those who put TS hybrids immediately in play. Ian Poulter and Charles Howell III added new TS2 21º models to their bags for the U.S. Open, while Patton Kizzire gamed a TS3 19º, as players around the world continue to switch into the new TS2 and TS3 models.

Titleist has been the most played hybrid on the PGA Tour since 2014 and continues to be the field favorite week in and week out.

AVAILABILITY
Titleist TS hybrids are available in golf shops worldwide beginning Aug. 30. MAP $279.

Cleveland Golf Introduces the Cleveland CBX 2

(HUNTINGTON BEACH, Calif.) – Cleveland Golf is proud to announce the release of the Cleveland CBX 2 wedge. Built for the vast number of golfers playing cavity back irons, the Cleveland CBX 2 offers spin, control and all the forgiveness you need. Cleveland’s CBX 2 will launch in North America on Aug. 30, 2019.

The Cleveland CBX 2 is a new perspective on wedge design. For far too long, wedges have been stuck in a top down approach of designing for the world’s best players at the expense of the many everyday golfers who define the sport. With the Cleveland CBX 2, Cleveland Golf designed a forgiving, cavity back wedge built for the everyday player. While it still features tour wedge technologies that Cleveland Golf is renowned for, the Cleveland CBX 2 offers additional forgiveness to help serious golfers upgrade their short game.

“The short game is critical to playing your best golf, and playing wedges designed for your game – and the shots you like to hit – is key,” said Brian Schielke, Marketing Director at Cleveland Golf. “That’s why Cleveland CBX 2 wedges were created. They make the short game easier and more forgiving for the majority of golfers out there playing game-improvement equipment.”

Cleveland CBX 2 features a new Hollow-Cavity design with a hollow chamber near the heel and a heavy weight placed in the toe. This unique structure maximizes MOI and perimeter weighting for unrivaled short game forgiveness, while still maintaining a sleek, attractive profile at address.

Additionally, the Cleveland CBX 2 offers the latest iteration of Feel Balancing Technology that achieves a new milestone: a toe-biased center of gravity. Combined with a Gelback TPU Insert for vibration reduction, Cleveland’s CBX 2 provides a soft, satisfying feel and crisp feedback at impact.

“The Cleveland CBX 2 gives you 25% more shots on the sweet spot,” said Dustin Brekke, Engineering Manager, Research and Development. “This helps you hit better shots, but also drastically improves feel at impact.”

With Cleveland CBX 2, three distinct sole grind offerings arranged by loft deliver more versatility to execute any short game shot. Meanwhile, a staple of Cleveland’s wedge philosophy is spin. Cleveland CBX 2 features fourth generation Rotex Face Technology that delivers the sharpest Tour Zip Grooves, laser milling and aggressive face milling for maximum spin and short game control.

“It’s remarkable seeing the performance improvements when golfers switch to the extra forgiveness, better sole designs, and overall weighting that blends perfectly with their cavity back irons,” Schielke said.

Key Innovations Inside the Cleveland CBX 2:
- Hollow-Cavity Design: With a hollow chamber near the heel and a heavy weight placed in the toe, the hollow-cavity design maximizes MOI and perimeter weighting for unprecedented short game forgiveness.
- Dynamic Sole: Shot-making is simplified with three specialized sole grinds, specifically arranged by loft, to provide all the versatility needed to execute any short game shot.
- Feel Balancing and Gelback Technologies: Enhanced Feel Balancing Technology along with a Gelback TPU Insert reduces vibration for a pure feel at impact.
- Rotex Face Technology: Fourth generation Rotex Face Technology delivers our sharpest Tour Zip Grooves and most aggressive face milling for maximum spin and short game control.

Cleveland’s CBX 2 wedges are offered in a variety of different lofts and sole grinds. The V-Shaped Sole grind is offered in 46°-52° lofts. Meanwhile, the S-Shaped Sole grind is offered in 54° and 56° lofts, while the C-Shaped Sole grind is offered in 58° and 60° lofts. The wedges are available in left and right-handed options. The Cleveland CBX 2 wedges are priced at $139.99 MAP for Men’s Steel and Women’s and $149.99 for Men’s Graphite.

National Golf Day 2020 Set for May 6 in Washington, D.C.

Planning is also underway for the 4th annual Community Service Project on the National Mall for Tuesday, May 5. The enhancements between the Lincoln Memorial and Washington Monument are organized by Golf Course Superintendents Association of America. Earlier this year, industry leaders executed almost 20 beautification and preservation projects at these locations. Under the banner of WE ARE GOLF, National Golf Day 2019 produced a record-high 244 meetings with members of Congress representing 41 states to discuss the game’s $84.1 billion economy, nearly $4 billion annual charitable impact, 15,000 diverse businesses and two million jobs impacted across the United States. In addition, the events on Capitol Hill garnered over 766 million publicity impressions across 90 media outlets.

“Following the overwhelming success of this year’s event, we expect 2020 to be an even bigger platform to advance golf’s positive messages,” said Greg McLaughlin, CEO of World Golf Foundation which administers WE ARE GOLF. “By ensuring laws and regulations that affect the golf industry are just, the 1.89 million American jobs tied to the sport are better positioned for success.”

Throughout National Golf Day, data-driven metrics and trends support the health of the sport – from participation numbers and off-course interest to ways in which golf continues to grow and evolve.

Safety Tips: How to Stay Safe with Golf Cars

(Alexandria, VA) – Golf cars and personal transport vehicles (PTVs) are increasingly popular with consumers on and off the course due to their ease of use and increased utility, says the Outdoor Power Equipment Institute (OPEI), an international trade association representing manufacturers of golf cars, personal transport and utility vehicles, outdoor power equipment, and small engines, and their suppliers.

“Golf cars and PTVs may look alike, but these vehicles are designed to separate standards to assure safety and performance in their intended operating environments. Golf cars are designed to transport golfers and equipment around closed courses. They generally lack safety features for use on public roads or closed-community use. PTV standards require features like headlights, stop lamps, horns and mirrors, which increase vehicle and user safety when operating on designated roadways,” says Kris Kiser, President and CEO of OPEI. “Golf cars and PTVs are not toys. Read the owner’s manual to understand the vehicle’s features and operation. Don’t drink and drive. Obey manufacturer recommendations for operating age and designated number of passengers. Follow the rules of the road, and only drive PTVs where specifically permitted by law.”

Whether getting around the golf course, or cruising your community, operate these vehicles safely, understand their unique driving dynamics and obey all applicable laws for their use.

OPEI reminds users of these important safety tips when they get behind the wheel of golf cars and PTVs:

- Familiarize yourself with operating procedures. Review your owner’s manual and always follow manufacturer’s operating instructions. Remember to use all safety equipment that is installed on the vehicle.

- Load the vehicle correctly. Obey the manufacturer’s warnings for maximum number of occupants. Do not try to squeeze in extra passengers or allow anyone to ride standing in the vehicle or on the back platform, including caddies. Do not operate the vehicle until all occupants are fully seated.

- Drive safely and obey all local laws. Reduce speed and increase caution when operating vehicles on grades, slippery or loose terrain and when turning. Careless operation in these conditions may cause vehicles to lose traction and adversely affect operator control. Only operate vehicles on designated roadways or property where permitted by law, or the applicable regulatory authority.

- Avoid distractions. Be attentive to traffic and hazards while driving, and don’t text and drive.

- Stay sober and alert. Do not drive a golf car or PTV if intoxicated or under the influence of a drug or narcotic.

- Take shelter during inclement weather. Although a golf car may shield players from the rain, it may not protect from a lightning strike. Find safe shelter immediately if you see lightning or hear thunder.

Meti, Berkshire Win Inaugural ROC City Rumble

Berkshire Becomes New World No. 1 in Open Division;
Meti Wins Third Tour Event in Four Starts This Season

(ROCHESTER, N.Y.) – World Long Drive celebrated its No. 1 ranked hitters in the world on Wednesday evening, as Phillis Meti (Auckland, New Zealand) continued to cement her position atop the Women’s Division, while the Open (men’s) Division produced its latest No. 1 ranked hitter in Kyle Berkshire (Orlando, Fla.), as each captured the inaugural ROC City Rumble at Home Team Sports Park in Rochester, N.Y.

For Meti, the victory marked her third time hoisting a trophy in four tour events this season, putting the three-time World Long Drive champion on track to attaining the most decorated season ever amongst the sport’s Women’s Division. The defending world champion utilized a 320-yard drive in the final to narrowly edge out Alexis Belton’s (Ruston, La.) 319-yard blast.

“I struggled hitting the grid earlier today,” Meti said. “To be able to [hit the grid] on seven balls out of eight, all over 300 yards in the final, that’s something positive that I’m going to take into the next event. It gives me better confidence to show that I can do it. It gives me reassurance that I’m on the right track.”

Entering Wednesday night, Berkshire was ranked No. 3 and had accumulated a remarkable streak of 10 consecutive tour events where he’d advanced to the televised portion of the competition, with the last time of not achieving that feat coming back in July of 2017. More importantly for the 22-year-old, it put an end to a long list of close calls in televised tour events, shaking the proverbial monkey off his back en route to becoming the sport’s new No. 1 ranked competitor in the Open Division. Berkshire needed only one ball in the final match, bettering Martin Borgmeier’s (Munich, Germany) 369-yard drive with a 380-yard ball that wound up being the longest drive of the night.

“It feels great,” Berkshire said. “I just locked in on what I was trying to do. I really only worried about what I could control, not what I couldn’t control. I don’t feel any added pressure because I never put pressure on myself in the first place to become No. 1. My job is to hit the ball as far as I can as often as possible. That’s what I’m worried about.”

World Long Drive’s summer stretch of the season will conclude next month with the Tennessee Big Shots benefiting Niswonger Children’s Hospital (Kingsport, Tenn., Aug. 10-12), which marks the final tour event of the year. Three weeks later, the season-culminating World Long Drive Championship (Aug. 30-Sept. 4) will be staged on the Texas/Oklahoma border at WinStar World Casino and Resort, with the coveted world championship title belts on the line for the Open, Women’s and Masters (age 45+) Divisions. The World Long Drive Championship will culminate live on back-to-back nights under the lights on GOLF Channel, Tuesday-Wednesday, Sept. 3-4 at 8:30 p.m. ET.

Breakthrough Golf Technology Introduces New Stability Armlock Putter Shaft

(Richardson, TX) - Breakthrough Golf announces an addition to its revolutionary Stability Shaft. Introducing the new Stability Armlock Putter Shaft. Designed with the same advanced technology and performance benefits as the original Stability shaft. The Armlock Stability will feature a steel core wrapped with a highly twist-resistant outer graphite wrap, that reinforces flexural rigidity; over the typical flex point of the shaft, which is closer to the putter head.

Stability uses a scientifically advanced multi-material design with new geometries never

Armlock Stability Putter Shaft used in putter shaft design before. A shaft that has the same look, solid feel and weight as traditional steel putter shafts. The Stability Shaft delivers the face squarer at impact for improved accuracy and solid feel and has a lower launch for a predictable roll, resulting in better distance control.

Several years ago, the USGA prohibited players from securing the club against the body while making a stroke. The long Stability putter shaft will rest against the inside of the left arm without anchoring to the golfer's body, which makes it perfectly legal. It can be fitted to almost any existing armlock-style putter.

Blair Philip, BGT, VP R&D says, "It's great to be able to provide the same performance benefits of a standard-length Stability in a longer shaft. A Stability Armlock shaft is a great option for golfers that want to play with a longer or belly putter".

The Stability Arm Lock Shaft will be available in lengths from 37 1/2"- 46". It is USGA and R&A approved and is available for immediate delivery. SRP $224.99

AHEAD to Introduce Robust Spring 2020 Headwear Collection

Trendy new men’s, women’s hats to be unveiled in Vegas at PGA Fashion & Demo Experience

(NEW BEDFORD, Mass.) — As the golf headwear industry begins to embrace influences from other markets, AHEAD’s Spring 2020 lineup will reflect some of the trend-setting changes, according to Chuck Lord, the company’s COO and Chief Creative Officer. AHEAD’s robust Spring 2020 headwear collection will debut at the 2019 PGA Fashion & Demo Experience, Aug. 13-14, at The Venetian Hotel in Las Vegas.

“With more than 20 years of leadership in the golf headwear business, we are excited about some of the trends we are seeing in the industry,” Lord said. “We are seeing, for example, a shift to embrace everything from the Southern California lifestyle, with a surf-like look, to the European market, with a lot of stripes and bold new colors. Our lineup for Spring 2020 is a response to the intrigue the industry is showing for these styles.”

While adopting new design trends and inspirations, Lord stressed AHEAD isn’t straying from many of the classic, signature styles that have made the company’s headwear offerings so popular over the years. He cited AHEAD’s unparalleled attention to detail, first-class fabrics, inspired offerings, industry-leading alternative graphics, and innovation ornamentation techniques as reasons why the company continues to evolve and grow in popularity.

AHEAD’s new Matrix hat (pictured above) combines a modern surf look — think Southern California — with a performance fabric making for a perfect fit and smart appearance. The Matrix marks AHEAD’s first-ever laser-etched cap and it debuts in eight colors, including Cozumel blue and Crimson red. “We are confident the market will respond enthusiastically to the laser-etched style,” Lord said, “and it’s the ideal opportunity to use our proprietary SonicWeld technique to add some pop to the cap’s logo.”

Other new headwear styles for Spring 2020 include:
- The Colonial, a flat-brim rope cap available in five classic color combinations. This “throwback” offering has returned hip and trendy, and AHEAD is betting it will be a hit with the younger demographic;
- The Peak, a tone-lasered panel cap is great from a performance aspect but its eye-candy appeal is hard to ignore;
- The Van Gogh, a performance heather mesh back cap brings different textures together for an attractive look in three color combinations; and
- The Skipper, a bucket hat that has been particularly embraced in the resort industry. The relaxed cotton twill hat debuts in five colors.

The men’s Spring 2020 collection also includes an impressive array of new fitted caps, fleeces and visors, all hinting at a classic past with modern upgrades and performance benefits. The digital print toque Hombre, with its super-soft yarn knit shell, boasts a fashion-forward, futuristic look sure to draw in any trendsetter.

For women, the Kate Lord offerings focus on a color palette that is timeless and in high demand. The new Maddie textured poly hat with a fashion-forward custom woven closure strap is feminine yet sporty. The Tiffany sun hat, with a ponytail hole, continues to be a popular pick as sun protection never goes out of style.

“Every few years, we go through a big revamp with creating a new collection of hats and Spring 2020 may go down as our most significant one yet,” Lord said. “A great deal of the credit goes to Tabatha Francisco, our headwear buyer, who understands the influences of the marketplace and how to keep us cutting edge as we respond early to the latest industry trends.”

The new Spring 2020 headwear, AHEAD men’s lines, Kate Lord women’s lines, and accessories, all will be featured at the 2019 PGA Fashion & Demo Experience in exhibit booth 602.

Eliminate Sliced or Hooked Tee Shots with the Innovative RecTeeFier

Revolutionary New Tee Helps Golfers Conquer Errant Tee Shots

(Lac-Brome, Quebec, Canada) – A game changing new golf tee has been designed to help golfers who slice or hook their tee shots find the fairway. The revolutionary and scientifically tested RecTeeFier tee has been proven to reduce a slice or hook by 35% as tested by a robotic arm from Golf Laboratories Inc. in San Diego, California. The RecTeeFier technology rectifies the angle of a golf ball’s spin axis bringing it towards zero and thus reducing the side spinning that causes a dreaded slice or hook.

According to a poll conducted by Golf.com, 70% of all respondents confessed that slicing or hooking their tee shots were their most frustrating issues. The game improvement RecTeeFier is especially beneficial for beginner golfers as well as senior golfers whose declining physical abilities make it difficult for them to drive the ball straight and keep it in play.

I designed and created this special golf tee as a way to make the golfing experience more enjoyable for the average or beginning golfer,” said Canadian businessman and golfer Serge Gauvin. “This product is not USGA approved and should not be used in any official tournaments. However, for the thousands of amateur golfers around the world who just want to go out and tee it up and have some fun, this product is for them. The RecTeeFier also may help speed up play since golfers will not spend much time looking for lost balls and errant shots in the rough or the woods.”

The RecTeeFier is made of two different materials: a high-impact resistant polycarbonate (the white stem portion) which is the same material as a motorcycle’s windshield, and a specific elastomer selected for its friction index which allows for the spin axis angle correction. A single RecTeeFier tee can be used over and over for multiple rounds of golf before showing any signs of wear. That is approximately 15 rounds of golf equaling 270 tee shots.

The product is sold in three different packages starting at $8.95 for one tee, $13.95 for two tees and $19.95 for four tees. For more information about RecTeeFier and purchases, visit the company website at www.recteefier.com.  The product also is available at Amazon.com and Rock Bottom Golf (www.rockbottomgolf.com). RecTeeFier is under patent pending in four countries, including the U.S., Canada, UK and Australia.

Not only did the Tour Velvet capture The Open Championship, the grip was also trusted by the winners of all global professional golf events this weekend including the PGA Tour, Korn Ferry Tour, and the LPGA Tour.

“This year’s Open Champion had the added weight of his home country on his shoulders, which increased his pressure to perform,” said Brandon Sowell, global sales and marketing director for Golf Pride. “While that pressure was in his mind, our commitment to performance was creating confidence in his hands to pull off every shot he needed down the stretch, especially in challenging weather conditions.”

Each week, Golf Pride is the leading grip played from tee-to-green on the PGA TOUR with an average of 80 percent of pros choosing Golf Pride swing grips in each event, without any paid endorsements.

Santee's Palmetto Traverse: Rollin’, Rollin’, Rollin’…Keep Those Putts a Rollin’

Unique 18-hole putting course set to open in mid-August at Lake Marion Golf Course in Santee, SC. The 35,000-square-foot “Palmetto Traverse” is based off the Himalayas putting course at St. Andrews and designed by golf course architect and Donald Ross restoration specialist Kris Spence.

(SANTEE, S.C.) — An 18-hole, 35,000-square-foot putting course is opening mid-August at Lake Marion Golf Course in Santee, S.C.

“Palmetto Traverse” is located at Lake Marion Golf Course adjacent to the Lake Marion Villa & Townhouse Complex. The layout was designed by golf course architect and Donald Ross restoration specialist Kris Spence and Spence Golf Design.

“We have been looking for ways to make the overall experience at our facility better and more exciting.  The trend in putting course construction caught our attention and we happened to have the perfect piece of property to build something extremely unique for our area, and for the state of South Carolina for that matter,” said Todd Miller, general manager of Santee Cooper Resort.

Spence said the complex — which was constructed using USGA sub surface drainage and rootzone and topped with a Tifeagle Ultradwarf surface — also features a pair of small bunkers within the surface area, and a small central grassy island with a sitting area and landscaping. The internal contours include plateaus, terraces, swales, rolls, valleys, spines and slopes that will provide abundant variety testing the best player to the beginner.

“The green includes most every feature a golfer might experience when playing golf around the world,” said Spence, who is based in Greensboro, N.C.

Spence has renovated, restored or worked on nearly three-dozen golf courses in North Carolina, most notably Sedgefield Country Club, site of the PGA Tour’s annual Wyndham Championship, Roaring Gap Club, Country Club of North Carolina’s Dogwood Course, Forsyth Country Club, Mimosa Hills Golf Club, The Omni Grove Park Inn Golf Course, Cape Fear Country Club and Myers Park Country Club.

The concept for Palmetto Traverse is based on the Himalayas putting course at St. Andrews in Scotland and will be akin to the Thistle Dhu putting course at the Pinehurst Resort in Pinehurst, N.C.

The green is conveniently located behind the Lake Marion GC clubhouse and golf shop near the multiple golf villas on the property, just steps away from the front door of the villas and pool area.

“I think this will especially appeal to those golfers staying on the property wanting something else to do following their round on the course,” said Spence. “The design should provide some wild fun, with putts as long as 260 feet possible and over some of the most varied terrain I have ever designed into a putting surface.”

Among budget-conscious golfers, Santee has morphed into a revered year-round destination. Located on the south shore of Lake Marion, South Carolina’s largest freshwater lake where a number of world records have been set through the years for largemouth catfish and bass, Santee is convenient — dissected by Interstate 95 almost exactly halfway between New York and Miami — and just off Interstate 26, midway between the Palmetto State’s popular cities Charleston and Columbia.

“We expect the Palmetto Traverse will be a big hit with the many travelers on I-95, as well as families from Charleston, Columbia and the surrounding area,” Miller said.

A green fee for the 18-hole putting course will be included in all-inclusive, stay-and-play packages booked through Santee Cooper Golf & Travel. There will be a nominal fee for those pulling off I-95 to play.
