The shoe also features a stable, full-grain leather upper design, preferred by PGA Tour professional Rickie Fowler. Fowler debuted PROADAPT earlier this season and relied on them during his recent victory at the Waste Management Phoenix Open.

“During the footwear design and creation process, we work with our Tour team, utilizing their feedback to deliver shoes that reflect the feel and performance desired by the best golfers in the world,” said Andrew Lawson, Footwear Product Line Manager at PUMA Golf. “Rickie was involved from the earliest stages of design, expressing his desire for an upper that provides a ton of support with premium styling. Better players will love these shoes as they offer comfort, maximum stability, ground traction and motion control through your golf swing.”

In addition to the core PROADAPT collection, PUMA Golf will introduce several limited edition PROADAPT shoes throughout the year. The PUMA IGNITE PROADAPT’s are available now for pre-sale on PUMGAGOLF.com and at select retailers. They will hit stores on March 13, 2019.

South Florida – The Perfect Pairing of Diamonds and Divots

For baseball fans, the smell of freshly cut grass – along with the sound of bats cracking and gloves popping – signal the start of spring. Springtime also signifies the time for golfers to get ready for the new season, especially in Florida, where 16 major league baseball teams conduct spring training.

Below are two of our favorite South Florida places perfectly pairing “diamonds and divots”.

PGA Golf Club – The quiet town of Port St. Lucie is the spring training home of the New York Mets featuring Robinson Cano, returning to the Big Apple this year, and fan-favorite, Noah Syndergaard. Port St. Lucie is not only a focal point of the Grapefruit League, but a place where fans can enjoy the shortgrass of PGA Golf Club, as well.

Ranked among the “Top 75 Golf Resorts in North America” by Golf Digest, PGA Golf Club is home to three breathtaking golf courses offering truly unique experiences.

The Wanamaker Course is widely considered as one of the most picturesque layouts in Florida. Legendary architect Tom Fazio designed a course that blends seamlessly into its natural surroundings. Fairways routed around wetlands, gentle hills and native palmetto and sabal palms will have fans forgetting about baseball players, bleachers and scoreboards for a while.

However, you will find it hard to escape the sand on the Dye Course, which features some of the most elaborate bunkers east of the Mississippi. Designed by the mastermind himself, Pete Dye, it’s as beautiful as it is challenging. Deep pot sand traps, vast coquina waste areas and devilish greens will surely entertain golfers of all skill levels.

Finally, spring training may also inspire team golf, and what better course to gather with friends than on the Ryder Course? After a recently completed renovation project that enhanced the greens and surrounding areas, this course is in prime shape for some friendly competition. The layout meanders over rolling hills and through majestic pine trees along with several lakes and ponds lining the fairways and guarding the greens.

Find multiple stay-and-play options at www.pgavillage.com.

PGA National Resort & Spa – A plethora of teams make their spring training homes near Palm Beach, making it a baseball fanatic’s dream start to the season.

Roger Dean Stadium in nearby Jupiter serves as the home of the St. Louis Cardinals and Miami Marlins, and the Houston Astros and Washington Nationals share The Ballpark at Palm Beaches. While the baseball players are warming up, golfers swarm to PGA National Resort & Spa in nearby Palm Beach Gardens.

Site of the PGA TOUR’s Honda Classic since 2007, PGA National is home to the legendary “Bear Trap” – hole Nos. 15 through 17 on its Champion Course that USA TODAY hails as “one of the toughest stretches in golf.” In addition to the Bear Trap, immaculate conditions and a challenging layout make the Champion Course a favorite among TOUR pros and amateurs.

PGA National also features four added first-class layouts for baseball fans to take their best swing at: The Palmer, The Fazio, The Squire and The Estate. Additionally, “on campus” are the David Leadbetter Golf Academy and David Pelz Scoring Game School for individual instruction and group clinics.

Guests may also be late to spring training after they see the resort’s 33,000-square-foot world-class Sports & Racquet Club which features a wide array of fitness activities and classes. After a hard workout, a visit to The Spa is in order where guests can consult with a team of skilled therapists and enjoy the steam rooms, saunas and Waters of the World. The visit can be concluded in style at the chef-driven Ironwood Steak & Seafood restaurant just off the resort’s lobby.

PGA National’s Gold Golf package is ideal for a fan spring training / golf getaway. It features luxury accommodations with a private balcony or terrace, full breakfast daily in the Palm Terrace, one round per day as well as unlimited range balls and complimentary bag storage. Rates start at $339 per person (per night, based on double occupancy) through April 30. A surcharge is required for all rounds on The Champion ($135) and Palmer Course ($50). Greensboro’s Sedgefield CC Dye Course Will Become a Semi-Private Facility

Will restore its original name, The Cardinal by Pete Dye

(RALEIGH, N.C.) — Raleigh-based McConnell Golf has announced that on March 1, 2019, the Sedgefield Country Club Dye Course near Piedmont Triad International Airport in Greensboro will become a semi-private facility and will restore its original name, The Cardinal by Pete Dye.

“We are excited about this change and look forward to increased rounds and activity on the golf course,” wrote McConnell Golf Triad Regional Director Beverly Marler in a letter to the membership. “Rest assured membership will still have its privileges.”

In 2006, McConnell Golf purchased the Cardinal Golf & Country Club, a Pete Dye-designed masterpiece originally constructed in 1974 and host to many nationally recognized amateur tournaments, including the club’s renowned Cardinal Amateur.

McConnell poured nearly $5 million in renovations to the clubhouse and golf course, most notably hiring Dye to return and fully restore his original design. Today, the Cardinal is recognized as one of the state’s most challenging courses.

In 2013, McConnell Golf streamlined operations with the merger of The Cardinal and Greensboro’s Sedgefield Country Club, which McConnell Golf has owned since 2011 and which annually hosts the PGA Tour’s Wyndham Championship. As a result of the merger, McConnell Golf realized improvement to its bottom line.

Yet, McConnell Golf still found itself with an underutilized golf course and a need for further improvement to the financial position of the property. They found that the current level of golf members did not generate enough rounds to sustain operations.

With its recent announcement, McConnell Golf opens up The Cardinal tee sheet for non-member play. McConnell Golf also announced that:
- All members will have preferred access to the tee sheet, allowing them to secure the same prime times to which they are accustomed.
- All Full Golf members may retain the same access that is currently enjoyed at Sedgefield and other McConnell Golf properties.
- All Dye Family Golf members may retain their same membership privileges at The Cardinal as well as dining privileges at Sedgefield.
- All current dues/fees will remain in place.

In addition, McConnell Golf is utilizing GolfNow to help generate interest and better market The Cardinal in the Greensboro area. GolfNow is the world's leading tee-time marketplace with more than 3.5 million registered users, who have the ability to search and book golf online — or via mobile devices — any time of day at more than 6,000 golf courses worldwide.

McConnell Golf first expanded into public golf courses in 2016 when it signed a 10-year lease to operate the 27-hole Raleigh Golf Association course. At The Cardinal, as at RGA, McConnell Golf will bring its customer service model to the semi-private market to help separate themselves from the competition.

McConnell Golf will continue to sell Dye Family Golf memberships for The Cardinal. In addition, Head Golf Professional Chris Terry and his team will continue to offer a full calendar of golf tournaments, events, and programs throughout the year that are available exclusively to members — including Full Golf members who have access to all McConnell Golf properties, existing Dye Family Golf members and any new Cardinal memberships. These programs will not be open to non-members.

Steve Stricker Named United States Captain for 2020 Ryder Cup

Ryder Cup veteran will lead U.S. in pursuit of second straight home Ryder Cup victory; Jim Furyk to serve as U.S. Vice Captain; Selection Criteria For 2020 U.S. Ryder Cup Team Also Announced

(MILWAUKEE , WIS.) –  PGA of America President Suzy Whaley announced that Steve Stricker will serve as the United States Ryder Cup Team Captain for the 43rd Ryder Cup, which will be played September 22-27, 2020 at Whistling Straits in Kohler, Wisconsin.

Stricker becomes the 29th U.S. Captain since the Ryder Cup’s inception in 1927.

A native of Edgerton, Wisconsin (located 95 miles southwest of Whistling Straits), Stricker made his Ryder Cup debut in 2008 (at the age of 41) and played in three consecutive Ryder Cups (2008, ‘10, ‘12).

“Steve Stricker's career has long established a place of prominence in American golf," said Whaley, who joined Stricker for an introductory news conference in Milwaukee. “Yet, he’s as relevant as ever -- as evidenced by three wins last year on the PGA Tour Champions -- and he has a wonderful ability to connect with players of all ages. Steve’s vision for his Captaincy is laser focused and we are elated to have this hometown favorite as our U.S. Ryder Cup Captain for 2020 at Whistling Straits.”

The 51-year-old Stricker was a member of winning U.S. Ryder Cup efforts in 2008 and ‘16, the latter as a Vice Captain. A 12-time winner on the PGA Tour, Striker also played in five Presidents Cups, an event at which he served as victorious U.S. Captain in 2017.

“In our sport, in this country, there is no greater honor than to Captain the United States Ryder Cup Team,” said Stricker, who was inducted into the Wisconsin State Golf Association Hall of Fame in December 2007. "I am humbled by both the opportunity at hand and the responsibility that comes with the position. I'd like to thank the PGA Ryder Cup Committee for their belief in me.

“While we were disappointed with the result in Paris, I am confident the setback will fuel our preparations for what will take place at Whistling Straits. Europe's talent will present a great challenge, but we will be focused on what we can accomplish together in 2020 in my home state, in front of a loyal legion of sports fans in Wisconsin. It's going to be a memorable week."

In his first act as Ryder Cup Captain, Stricker named Jim Furyk as the first of his Vice Captains. Furyk served as U.S. Captain in 2018 and played in nine Ryder Cups.

Padraig Harrington, 47, of Ireland was named 2020 European Ryder Cup Captain last month.

The selection criteria for the 2020 U.S. Ryder Cup Team was also announced.

BMW Golf Cup International World Final to be Played in Los Cabos

Teams of amateurs from 34 countries will vie for prestigious title at Cabo del Sol

(Los Cabos, Mexico) – The national winners of the BMW Golf Cup International will tee it up in Los Cabos, Latin America’s premier golf destination, from March 18 – 23.

BMW is one of golf’s most important global partners, both on a professional and amateur level. The premium automobile manufacturer is a worldwide partner of the Ryder Cup as well as an organizer or title sponsor of three iconic BMW professional tournaments in the U.S., England and Germany. The company also organizes the world’s largest international tournament series for amateur golfers, the BMW Golf Cup International.

Each year, roughly 100,000 amateur golfers from about 35 countries play a series of tournaments around the world as part of the BMW Golf Cup International. Each player has a single goal in mind: qualification for the World Final. Approximately 100 players will gather to compete at this unique global event, to which BMW has invited top performers since 1995.

This year’s host site is an ideal venue for the BMW Golf Cup International. Situated at the place where the Pacific Ocean meets the Sea of Cortes at the tip of the Baja Peninsula, Los Cabos boasts an extraordinary mountain-desert-ocean environment where the game’s top designers have crafted some of the world’s finest courses. With seven of the top 10 courses in Mexico based on Golf Digest’s “Planet Golf” report, Los Cabos is the undisputed golf capital of Latin America. Add 340 days of sunshine per year, low humidity and cooling sea breezes, and Los Cabos emerges as a flawless destination unique to itself.

The World Final will be played at Cabo del Sol, a magnificent 36-hole facility. Finalists and their guests will stay next to the golf club at Sheraton Grand Los Cabos Hacienda del Mar, a lovely property patterned after a colonial Mexican village.

“The BMW Golf Cup International boasts everything that makes the sport of golf so special: beautiful yet demanding courses, competitive and high-class competition, but also respect for each other and the opportunity to make new friendships and have a great time together,” said Christian Masanz, head of BMW Golfsport Marketing. “This is also why we have chosen Los Cabos as the venue for the World Final. This beautiful place has everything to fulfill this promise.”

The World Final far eclipses the standards of a normal amateur competition. Participants are treated to a professional-standard tournament on world-class golf courses; attend dazzling evening and off-course events with their guests; and enjoy friendly encounters with players from around the planet.

The BMW Golf Cup International is open to golfers who are members of an internationally recognized national association through their golf club. The tournament is divided into three handicap classes: Men A (up to handicap 12); Men B (handicap 13 to 28); and Ladies (up to handicap 28). Each nation determines a winner in each category at qualification tournaments in their respective home countries, organized by BMW dealerships. The number and format of these qualification tournaments can vary in individual countries. However, one aspect remains the same in all participating nations: the victorious trio travels to the World Final.

Both venues at Cabo del Sol will be utilized during the World Final. The Ocean Course, featuring several holes set along the Sea of Cortes, is the layout that put Los Cabos on the international golf map when it opened in 1994. Intent on producing the ‘Pebble Beach of the Baja,’ designer Jack Nicklaus charted grand-scale holes across gently sloping terrain creased by sandy arroyos and backdropped by stony mountains. The ebb and flow routing leads players to the sea on both nines. Giant cardon cacti, craggy granite outcrops and deep sculpted bunkers frame the fairways and greens. The Ocean Course is ranked No. 70 on Golf Digest’s “World 100 Greatest Golf Courses” roster.

Routed in mountain foothills high above the Ocean Course, the Desert Course at Cabo del Sol, debuted in 2001, was Tom Weiskopf’s first design effort in Mexico. All 18 holes serve up panoramic views of the glittering sea. Shoehorning holes into rugged desert terrain crisscrossed by canyon-like barrancas, Weiskopf produced a brilliant layout, dishing out broad fairways flanked by rock outcrops and a dense cactus forest. To defend the sloping greens, Weiskopf built large bunkers with distinctive capes and bays. With its strategic risk-reward options and enticing blend of long and short holes, the Desert Course presents a classic test.

Tagmarshal Introduces FastLane Golf and ExpressGolf, Making Slow Rounds a Thing of the Past

(ATLANTA, Ga.) – Tagmarshal – the golf course optimization and pace-of-play management system trusted by public golf courses, private country clubs and resorts globally – introduces two ground-breaking pace of play management solutions, FastLane Golf and ExpressGolf.

As a facility’s response to slow play, partnering course operators offer premium FastLane Golf tee times to groups committing to completing rounds in some 60 minutes under goal time. Tagmarshal’s 2Way system supports players by providing live, dynamic pace updates, along with yardage information, while operators have real-time line of sight to assist groups who fall out of position. Projections estimate courses offering FastLane tee times can see profits of nearly $80,000, over an eight-month season.

The innovative ExpressGolf event format reduces tournament round times to as low as three hours and has drawn praise from European Tour professionals. With event-specific rules including awarding ties to the team or player with a better pace, ExpressGolf makes pace of play a fun, tangible part of the occasion. Players play a dedicated, no hold-ups event, the technology guarantees results and operators increase utilization. A course hosting 40 ExpressGolf 18-hole outings within a calendar year will expect to receive an additional $155,000 in event revenue.

“Pace of play has negatively impacted golfers – from the weekend warrior all the way to the professional,” says Tom Cox, Vice President of Sales for Tagmarshal. “Unprecedented advances are being implemented for daily play and tournament outings to decrease round times, increase player satisfaction and grow the game, as well as course’s bottom lines, making it a win-win for everyone.”

According to USGA research, 74% of golfers say pace is crucial to their enjoyment. Furthermore, individuals are willing to pay up to 25% more for an optimized experience that is dedicated to fast play. FastLane Golf and ExpressGolf provide that dedicated approach by offering a turnkey package.

Tagmarshal works with individual public, private and resort course operators across nine countries to identify operational efficiencies and grow the business from within. Benefits extend beyond quicker play and more enjoyable rounds; heat mapping for course maintenance and data collection make this technology more than a one-dimensional commodity. Among those trusting Tagmarshal include Carnoustie (site of the 2018 Open Championship), Pinehurst Resort & Country Club (2019 U.S Amateur Championship), The Ocean Course at Kiawah Island Golf Resort (2021 PGA Championship), Whistling Straits (2020 Ryder Cup), Erin Hills (2017 U.S. Open), East Lake (2019 TOUR Championship), Valhalla (2014 PGA Championship) and the site of the 2019 U.S. Open.

Desert Mountain Club Memberships Jump Nearly 15 Percent from 2017 to 2018

Prestigious Club’s Members Hail from Across the United States and the World

(Scottsdale, Ariz.) - Desert Mountain Club has earned a reputation as one of the finest private golf and recreational communities in the world. Recently released statistics show that the desirable Desert Mountain lifestyle is in higher demand than ever, as the club added 131 members from 26 states and four nations in 2018, a substantial increase of nearly 15 percent from the prior year.

In 2017, Desert Mountain welcomed 116 new members. In a single year, however, club membership surged to 131, listing primary addresses from cities as far as Canada, Ireland and Scotland.

Desert Mountain has wide domestic appeal, too. Though 52 incoming members are Arizona residents, nine are from Washington, eight from California, seven from Minnesota and six from Illinois and Wisconsin respectively. Members come from eight of the ten-most highly-populated U.S. states as well as states along the east and west coasts.

“The influx of new members is well-timed as there is a lot more to love at Desert Mountain than ever before,” said Desert Mountain Club CEO Damon DiOrio. “We are preparing for the official unveiling of two big evolutions of our club:  the opening of Seven Desert Mountain, a new residential enclave and par-54 golf course, as well as the newly reimagined Renegade course, which will feature cool-season turf, offering our members wall-to-wall green grass year-round and ultimately, more days of golf.”

Those flocking to Desert Mountain aren’t the typical snowbirds. A surge of Californians continues to be drawn to this amenity-rich community. This is consistent with data recently released by Edelman Intelligence, which found that 53 percent of California residents are considering leaving the state because of its high cost of living. Of the eight Californians who made the move to Desert Mountain, most cite taxes and traffic as motivators to relocate.

Casa de Campo’s other two courses are also unique and well-loved. The Dye Fore Course can be considered an “extravaganza”: it contains 27 holes, with a championship 18th on a tremendous 7,740-yard-long course. The Links, meanwhile, is more traditional, but its inland location doesn’t mean it should be skipped: the recently renovated course provides the unique experience of links golf in the Caribbean.

USGA Statement Regarding Amateur Status of Highly Ranked Golfer Lucy Li

(STATEMENT) - The USGA Amateur Status Committee has ruled that amateur golfer Lucy Li breached Rule 6-2 of the Rules of Amateur Status by participating in an Apple Watch “Close Your Rings” advertisement campaign.  Following that determination, the Committee carefully reviewed the facts and circumstances surrounding the breach in order to determine the appropriate penalty for Ms. Li.

As a result of that effort, the USGA has issued Ms. Li a one-time warning. She will retain her Amateur Status.

Late last year, Ms. Li was engaged by a casting agent for an acting assignment to promote the Apple Watch. At that time, the nature of her participation was not defined and she was given no indication that she would appear as a golfer. While on this assignment, Ms. Li was filmed engaging in a variety of recreational activities, one of which was golf. The casting agent informed her that her appearance in any final advertisement was not guaranteed, nor did they know how she would be featured.

Ms. Li first became aware of the final content of the advertisement, which featured her as a golfer, on Jan. 2. She was notified by the USGA of a pending review into her Amateur Status on Jan. 3. At that time, Apple immediately took down the advertisement in all its forms. On Jan. 11, USGA notified Ms. Li  she had breached the Rules of Amateur Status.

Since that time, the USGA has had several discussions with both Apple and the Li family and has confirmed that Ms. Li has neither received, nor will receive in the future, any monetary or non-monetary (e.g., products) compensation for her appearance in the advertisement. Ms. Li has affirmed to the USGA that at the time she agreed to participate in the advertisement she did not know she was breaching the Rules of Amateur Status, and at no time did she intend to forfeit her Amateur Status.

In determining the level of penalty, the Committee considered all these facts and circumstances, including a recognition that Ms. Li is a minor and that this was her first breach of the rules. This ruling is consistent with the Committee’s general practice of issuing a warning to amateurs who unknowingly breach Rule 6-2 for the first time and take appropriate remedial measures.  The USGA has communicated this ruling to Ms. Li and this matter is now closed.

We encourage amateur golfers who are unsure about taking a proposed action to engage with their governing body early in the process, in an effort to protect their Amateur Status.

Aberdeen Country Club to Reopen February 23 with New Clubhouse and Course in Pristine Condition

27-Hole Facility Closed for Five Months in the Aftermath of Hurricane Florence

(LONGS, S.C.) - Aberdeen Country Club, a Founders Group International course, will reopen for public play on Saturday, February 23. The 27-hole facility, which closed in the aftermath of Hurricane Florence to rebuild its clubhouse, is in immaculate condition with Myrtle Beach’s peak spring season on the immediate horizon.

While the 4,000-square-foot clubhouse, which suffered water damage in post-storm flooding, was being rebuilt, FGI’s director of agronomy, Max Morgan, and his team were working to ensure the Woodlands, Meadows and Highlands nines would be in peak condition when Aberdeen reopened.

“Aberdeen Country Club was enjoying a great 2018, prior to Hurricane Florence, and it’s in even better shape heading into this spring,” said Steve Mays, president of Founders Group International. “As pleased as we are with the course’s recovery, we are equally excited to help the Aberdeen community take the next step in its rebuilding process. The golf course is a focal point of the community, and it’s going to be as good as it has ever been on February 23.”

FGI has focused its efforts over the last five months on restoring the course, but the thoughts of Aberdeen community have never been far from the company’s mind. Last fall, FGI closed Long Bay Club, a Jack Nicklaus design located just miles away, for a charity golf tournament that raised more than $6,700 for the Aberdeen Homeowners Association.

“There hasn’t been a divot taken at Aberdeen since September, and we couldn’t be happier with the course’s comeback,” said Matt Daly, FGI’s director of golf course operations. “Our entire team is looking forward to welcoming golfers back and also having them enjoy the new clubhouse, which I believe will enhance the Aberdeen experience.”

FGI hired the Kimberly Bryant Design Group to spearhead the rebuilding of the clubhouse, and the result is a facility that perfectly complements Aberdeen’s 4-star golf course. The new clubhouse will feature an open floor plan, an enhanced kitchen, and a sports bar-like feel.

With five televisions in the grill room and three more in the pro shop, golfers will return to a clubhouse that encourages them to spend time on property after the final putt drops.

Aberdeen, a Scottish links-style design, also has a new fleet of E-Z-Go golf carts awaiting players upon their return to the Tom Jackson design.

More information about Aberdeen Country Club is available at PlayAberdeen.com. Tee times can be booked at MyrtleBeachGolfTrips.com or by calling 800-882-3420.

(DENVILLE, NJ) - Online retailer Golf4Her (www.golf4her.com) has opened their first brick and mortar location in downtown Denville, New Jersey with an exciting twist.

“It’s a new retail world which requires new solutions for our customers,” explains Christina Thompson, Founder/CEO of Golf4Her. Following a trend that has been upending traditional retail shopping, as evidenced by both Nordstrom and Bonobos, (which offer shopping without racks and racks of clothing in-store), the new Golf4Her location will provide customers a streamlined way to shop that appeals to a woman’s busy, modern lifestyle.

Launched in 2010, Golf4Her.com changed the way women shopped for top-quality golf apparel online. Now they’re changing the way women shop for golf wear again. Their new store will allow customers to touch the merchandise, try on numerous styles, and find the perfect fit, all things they could not do when purchasing online. “Many women like to actually feel the incredible fabrics, and online shoppers know that sizing can be inconsistent between designers,” Thompson adds.

Featuring dozens of top names in the golf industry such as Nancy Lopez Golf, Adidas and Puma, Golf4Her offers samples to try on in sizes 00 to 3X. Instead of endless racks of merchandise inside the store, customers select what styles and sizes they want, and a Staff Stylist will arrange for the clothing to be shipped directly from the manufacturer to the customer’s home or office. Golf4Her also carries a selection of accessories like golf bags, gloves, and ball markers that customers can take with them.

The Golf4Her store is bright, white and modern with a feminine look. One of the partner brands available in the store is Swing Control. “We’re excited to introduce more women to the brand and gain loyal fans,” shared Josh Mark of Swing Control. “Both Christina and I want women golfers to look and feel their best, both on and off the course,” Mark adds. “Denville is such a lively shopping community, full of restaurants and retailers. We are confident that our beautiful new Golf4Her store will fit right in,” states Thompson.

(PALM BEACH GARDENS, Fla.) – PGA National Resort & Spa – South Florida’s world-class golf, vacation, meetings and spa destination – announces its “Stay and Save” package for the upcoming 2019 PGA TOUR Honda Classic held on its celebrated Champion Course from Feb. 23 (Sat.) – March 3 (Sun.).

Experience one of the premier golfing events on the PGA TOUR firsthand while staying on the resort grounds and walking out your door to the tournament. Starting at $459 per night, the exceptional “Stay and Save” offer includes nightly luxury accommodations, a $50 resort credit per room per night for use at the legendary resort’s spa, golf or food and beverage outlets plus two general admission tickets to the Honda Classic. The offer is valid for new reservations only.

PGA National is also offering its Honda Classic VIP Experience Room Package starting at $814 (per person, per night, double occupancy) and $1,199 per night for single occupancy. The package allows unrivaled access to the resort’s myriad amenities. Highlights include nightly deluxe room accommodations, daily VIP access to the 18th Hole Chalet, access to the “Bear Trap Party” on No. 17, and daily rounds of golf on The Palmer, Fazio or Squire courses with unlimited range balls and use of the driving range.

Additionally, the Honda Classic VIP Experience Room Package includes daily valet parking and use of the resort’s Sports & Racquet Club and “Waters of The World” therapeutic pools at The Spa. Taxes and resort fees are extra. Golf play is based on availability.

“The popularity of the Honda Classic creates a tremendous amount of excitement for our guests as they can go right from their rooms to watch the best golfers in the world compete,” says Greg “Coach” Saunders, vice-president and managing director. “It’s an honor to host the first stop of the PGA TOUR’s ‘Florida Swing’ as the players vie for the winner’s trophy on one of the game’s great tests of golf.”

PGA TOUR players, fans and guests will discover significant changes to The Champion Course following a comprehensive renovation by Nicklaus Design. Most notable are the removal of Palmetto palms on the right side of No. 1 and left side of No. 9.  One-third of an acre (14,400 sq. ft.) was also recaptured on the putting surfaces, returning them to the native design Jack Nicklaus and his team implemented 16 years ago. The layout reopened last November to rave reviews.
